"Both Sabre and Dora will be released on 1.2.9. Sabre is planned for July and Dora for August." -ED Facebook

It's like when the cable guy makes an appointment: Somewhere between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm. lol. Need to take off the whole day regardless.

"The guys at Leatherneck have been doing a great job and this week we integrated the AI MiG-21bis into DCS World version 2.0.0 later in 2014 (there will be no 1.3.0 due to the extensive DCS World changes that are coming)." - ED facebook page. "No one ever said we are skipping 1.2.9. 1.2.9 will release with Sabre and then later in the year 2.0.0 will release as freeware with significant changes." "Later in 2014 after the release of 1.2.9."

I'm not unhappy, because there could be nothing, but as you said, it just really doesn't make any sense that we can't use it for new modules, because we would certainly save more money waiting for a sale. Also, the fact that keys can no longer be transferred to Steam, but work from steam to the stand alone, means I probably won't be buying from the ED store anyways.

Son of a... thank you. Go figure it's not under "1. The Terms of Receiving and Using Bonuses" because that would make too much sense. lol Thanks for pointing it out though. So much for the usefulness of the bonus system.. If I have to wait for the NEW to not be there, I might as well wait for a sale that will be more than 30% off. haha gg
-
I'm sorry but I read the rules and where does it say you can't use bonus points on a "new" product? 3. A bonus for the product does not apply if the purchase is part of a discount sale, a coupon code is used, or a product bonus has already been granted for that product. 4. For a product purchased with partial bonus payment, bonuses are not granted.

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
KaspeR32 replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Just upgraded to R9 280x. -
Wow, just noticed the 39" Seiki 4K tv is on amazon for $340. I just bought a R9 280x 3GB that will arrive in a few days also! That seems like a pretty awesome deal to me. EDIT: Also, does this tv have VESA mounts?

Either way, glad you figured it out. I'll probably be using mine on the F-86 =P We'll see though.

Scroll up and read the posts. Someone explained it not 4 posts above yours.

Nellis AFB visit. MiG-29 and MiG-23! Took a ride to Nellis recently with my girlfriends dad (retired airforce) and got to see some cockpits up close and personal. It really puts things into perspective when you're sitting there in it. I can't wait for the Rift because of this =P MiG-29: MiG-23: A-10C Ground Targets =) Hind: Also sorry about the poor quality of the pictures, I didn't have my DSLR with me =(

Glad to hear people are liking the Hawk and DCS with the Rift. If people are liking it with the DK1, I can't wait to see what they say about DK2 or CV1!
-
You really must be the delusional one. Who cares if people don't understand the tech behind the rift? It's all about the experience, and you don't need a masters degree to enjoy the experience with the rift. I have been flying around in Outerra with the DK1 and the MiG-29 for over a month now, and the cock-pit is nowhere near as pretty as DCS 6DoF pits. It is the single most immersive experience I've had, anywhere, when it comes to flying and feeling like you're there, IN the cockpit. So, I and many other are excited to see what can be done with DCS and DK2/CV1. To sit there and say it's old tech and blah blah blah means nothing. If YOU don't enjoy the experience with the Rift and DCS or any other flight sim, that really sucks for you. But don't say people CAN'T enjoy the experience because you can't. I do appreciate every point of view but you seem to be speaking for everyone when you say things like we're delusional because we had an awesome experience with the Rift.

I think I'll play Divinity for a few months and come back to DCS around October. :music_whistling: That would make this whole waiting thing a bit easier huh?

How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
KaspeR32 replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey dannyg, Thanks for the lengthy reply! That helps very much! I do have another question though. For a switch like the P-51 fuel booster, is there a specific "up" state? For example, when I had the switch working, it was the same command to flip the switch up, and flip the switch down. So if I started the game, and clicked it with my mouse, and then hit the switch on my joystick, it would be working the opposite way. Do some switches (fuel booster) just have 1 command that can be called for both states and that's it? Thanks again for posting! -

Hello, I'm currently running a 7850 2gb video card and I just saw that the R9 280X is now selling for $269 with a $20 mail in rebate on newegg. I'm thinking $250 and free shipping is pretty damn good for an old 7970 with 3gb 384-bit memory. My ONLY gripe is regarding DCS and the Oculus Rift. AMD cards just have a black screen when trying to run the Rift, that really bugs me. Also P3D likes Nvidia cards as well. What do you guys think? Is the deal worth dealing with AMD driver support and odd glitches? EDIT: Ended up buying it. Guess I'll just have to figure out whether it was worth it on my own ;) Mods you can delete this thread.

I'm torn about this also. I love Belsimtek's work, and I think the two modules they have out really did set the bar high for the rest of the 3rd party dev teams. BUT, I don't like how they left some things unfinished with the Huey (cabin lights, engine overheat, etc) and still took it out of BETA. As for the Mi-8, like cichlidfan said, it's been in BETA for almost a year. I'd just like some closure with their current modules before the forums fill up with bug reports about the F-86 and then the Cobra. The list will certainly get unmanageable before they know it, with with 4 modules that were never really finished to begin with.

Can't wait for todays phantom Wednesday update! Sooooooo exciteddddddd.

@ Scrim I understand how it doesn't look good for any company to "partner" with a company that promises something, then ends up not delivering. I also feel ED is new to this whole kickstarter business. Yes, maybe ED jumped on board with RRG, not knowing how much money would be raised or how difficult it would be fulfilling the promises RPG made. I personally only put in $40 (even though I don't care too much for WWII planes) just because I figured the worst that can happen is I loose $40. But if I get what they promised, I'd have 6 flyable DCS level planes to fly. I knew from the beginning it seemed a bit unrealistic, but I knew that going in. It was a gamble, like many other things in life. If you are upset that the promises made were not fulfilled, I would suggest changing *your* habits and not taking chances on crowd-funded projects. Why get upset at ED for trying to correct something that they themselves didn't know was going to happen. At least they are trying to make amends. EDIT: RRG, fixed thanks ;)

+1 for Smart Scaling. I think this sums it up perfectly: At a realistic "zoom" we lose FOV. So right now to scan the sky, we have to look to a certain area, then zoom in. Don't see anything? Zoom out, look at another part of the sky, zoom back in. That's kind of annoying. Even for small things like, if you're not "hunting for targets" but just want to fly formation with someone, it's so easy to lose them in the sky. I tried flying with my brother who doesn't have Track IR, it was nearly impossible for him to find me in a P-51. We have take-off assist for players to make the game more approachable, why not Smart Scaling?

ED said it was working on ATC quite a while ago. I never heard anything about it being updated for EDGE though. I do *think*, that once we get some new maps, they're going to have to re-visit ATC. Hopefully they'll make it a bit more "dynamic." But who knows.
-
I would think it's safe to say that Belsimtek at least has to be aware of *some* differences regarding 1.3.0 environment. But maybe it's enough time to release the module in 1.2.8, then when 1.3.0 goes live, just pass on the updated version. Either way I'm excited about the July release (if they go through with it) of the F-86.

Yeah, I'd like my $119,000 back for the condo I bought right before the market collapsed in 2006. ED should be responsible for that also. Seriously though, thank you ED for salvaging RPG's wacky promises.
-
I think this: Everyone who isn't happy with what the new reward system is, ED should mark their names down and not give them anything at all. Apparently these people would prefer going to RPG Studios (which no longer exists) to try to get what they paid for. I would be curious to see how that endeavor turns out. I think what ED has done, as well as Leatherneck Studios, is extremely gracious. Generally, if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. $40 for 6 flyable DCS quality planes? lol.
