  1. Has anyone had problems with random vertical lines appearing on the radar display? They aren't fixed in azimuth, they appear and disappear at random in time with the radar sweep At times there are so many the radar isn't usable, I've tried it on an empty scenario to be sure it's not jamming from another aircraft, I've tried reducing my graphical settings to see if it's performance related, no joy. In the screenshot it's just my aircraft and an E2D AWACS on the new Germany map no other units present. My system specs are: Win 11, Intel core i9, Nvidia GeForce 4090 and 64GB of RAM null
  2. Can you write that again with less crazy? If you want to have a mature discussion then go for it, but this is not the way dude.
  3. Are you using the key bind or the option in the radio menu? The radio menu item only works when you’re on the catapult ready to launch, you have to use the key bind.
  4. Maybe it happened from time to time over the 40 odd years the tomcat was in service, maybe it’s just a tall tale from a few pilots, it doesn’t really matter. Heatblur have made the best flight sim model of an F-14 to date, I’m not going to lose any sleep over what methods they might have used to hold some worn out buttons on the ACM panel while deployed in a war zone. I wasn’t a pilot, but I have seen fellow soldiers do stuff to kit and equipment while deployed that would make the civilian maintainers back home cry, sometimes you just have to make something work for the mission, when you’re deployed it’s about lives the equipment is just a tool.
  5. Sec light must be off before you put the throttle to idle.

    Radar-TWS

This issue was discussed at length a few years ago. TWS has resolution limits, which is why the other radar modes can break out a group of aircraft flying in close formation and TWS can't. When you see a contact on the TID in TWS it's not a radar return, it's a TWS track file. That's the WCS computer looking at the raw radar returns and calculating not only where the contact is but also, based upon how it is maneuvering, where it will be in the future so it can guide an AIM-54 missile onto it (this is the part that RWS doesn't do, which is why it can't guide an AIM-54 and also why it doesn't have the same resolution constraints because it has much less processing to do). Due to the computational power of the AWG9/WCS there are limitations on what can be processed, which means aircraft flying close together get lumped into one track file. Here's a link to the original discussion, it's explained better in here than I can. it's only 2 pages and definitely worth a read.
  7. I really like the new sounds, apart from how it sounds the flyby F3 view, it sounds awesome.
  8. I was going through the F4 manual and saw the section on radar air to air bits, are these tests implemented in game?
  9. You can create a batch file which you can run after every update to automatically delete any livery folders you don’t want, it takes a little setting up but once you’ve created it it’s a simple matter of running the file after each DCS update, it’s not like the updates are regular any more either. Here’s a link to a tutorial on creating batch files that’ll get you started if you want to do it. https://www.wikihow.com/Delete-a-File-in-Microsoft-Windows-Using-Batch-Files
  10. You can go in there and delete them manually.
  11. Can someone throw some bread and water into their cell and ask them to do some work?
  12. You could hear it if you shut down the engines with the canopy open or shut down in an exterior view.
  13. I hope this can be addressed quickly, I did a cold start flight on the Normandy map from Tangmere, south to Cherbourg, east to Caen and Le Havre and back to Tangmere, at no point in the entire flight did the artificial horizon show the correct attitude.
  14. Is that a flight sim pun?
  15. Can’t tell if you’re joking or not
  16. They don’t listen to those people thankfully. If people want balance then they should all fly the same module.
  17. That was a good read, I’m buzzing for an F14B(U)
  18. Did the F14B(U) have the digital fly by wire system too?
  19. There are some runways that aren’t configured properly, so the game considers the runway threshold to be part of the taxi way, that’s why jester freaks out, as far as he knows you’re still on a taxi way. Try a different runway or start your takeoff run a little further down.
  20. Sounds like you might enjoy an older aircraft more, try the Mirage F1 or the F4 Phantom. Those are far less forgiving aircraft to fly, if you want rough you can’t go wrong with the F4
  21. Come on man, it’s Christmas.
  22. Yeah... hopefully ED can find a solution. Would suck having to remove a weapon. How many weapons are off the bottom of the list?
