Yep same -
remove mods [FIXED] Skins issues in Mission Editor
Ian Boys UK replied to diamond26's topic in Bugs and Problems
OK I can confirm this is an issue with a clash with one of the Aircraft mods (not Tech mod). Solved by removing all modded a/c for the moment. -
remove mods [FIXED] Skins issues in Mission Editor
Ian Boys UK replied to diamond26's topic in Bugs and Problems
There are dozens and dozens of skins but many for the AI models at the moment. Look at the F1M etc. Also check the CTJF Blue and there are STACKS of skins for the flyable CE (23, I think!) -
Ah the A-10 would be a good option too

I'll give it a try BTW it works really well with the Kiowa because it can stay still and low
-
According to the new patch notes, the F-14 can now be an airborne forward air controller (AFAC). I know the Kiowa can do it too (and it's fun playing an Apache with the Kiowa as spotter). Does anyone know which other aircraft can be AFACs please? Or is there a clever way to find out without building a mission 50 times over? Thank you

Here is an equivalent set up for Blue using the TACAN beacon This beacon provides: - TACAN at 55X (sound is Morse) - NDB at 480 Khz AM TACANs are useful for the Mirage F1, F-5E and others KHz NDB for the Gazelle, Mi-8, Huey etc Note that the airbase itself has no radio currently (July 2022) making this a useful method for finding home. Also ideal for FARPs etc. Multi Nav Beacon for Blue.miz

Here an example of NDB in Airfield Control Vehicle on 450KHz. Might be useful for FARPs, road bases (L-39 etc can use this too). Also bases in Syria, Iran etc (Mig-15 and Mig-19 can use them). Contains sound file too. NDB in Airfield Control Vehicle on 450KHz.miz

Mig29 vs F14 crashing again for me

I noticed the same yesterday with a Ka-50. I don't know if anything changed but I found it odd.

reported Mozdok NDB (Approach East) not working in Hind
Ian Boys UK posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Mozdok NDB (Approach East) not working in Hind. The Outer Marker (525 East) works fine, the inner marker (1060 East) doesn't work. -
Kercheiz we already discredited it video in the first post about it, don't worry.

Have just done a tacview test at 450 knots, clean mirage. Max turnrate (sustained) that I could achieve was about 18 d/s. Nothing special.
-
It's based on this video which is downright daft - he claims at one point a 17 d/s turnrate at the exact same time that tacview on the screen shows he averaged 11.6 throughout the turn.

Ah OK. It takes me a LOT longer using the encoder dial - seems I need to find another binding then. Thanks for the answer.

Magnetic Variation: Some answers (incl South Atlantic)
Ian Boys UK replied to Ian Boys UK's topic in DCS 2.9
I tested that and it is a minus. Surprised me too. -
After the first target I find the radar elevation is often pointed way down, often giving me a scan of say -36 to -56 meaning I can't see my next target (or anything at all). There's no slider/axis binding so it takes forever to raise the antenna to a useful elevation, meaning it becomes a bit useless. It would be GREAT to have a centre radar elevation button or similar to get it pointing forward again. Or even better, stick it on an axis as for every other aircraft.

And Mirage, that has a dedicated setting for it on the INS panel. -
