Magnetic Variation: Some answers (incl South Atlantic)
Ian Boys UK replied to Ian Boys UK's topic in DCS 2.9
And Mirage, that has a dedicated setting for it on the INS panel. -
Ah thank you. Then all is as it should be. Yep, it does work as you described. It was the display issue only but MHJ has clarified that. Thank you.

When I am flying I should be able to press the MRQ button and the VAL to set a markpoint but I don't have the M91 (etc) markers show up on the INS. For clarity - the markpoint itself works but the M91, M92, M93 don't show on the INS. See Chuck's Guide section 13.5

Magnetic Variation: Some answers (incl South Atlantic)

Yes -
Agreed

For a while magnetic variation puzzled me because it was said to vary by year and across a map but I had no idea of knowing what it was. Now using features in the Mirage 2000C I have some answers. They might vary from accepted wisdom because the default map year is now 2016 (it used to be 2008?) 1. Yes, it varies by year. At Creech (NTTR map) in 2016 it is -12 in 2016, -13.7 in 2001. 2. Yes it varies across the map, most notably in the South Atlantic - 15.7 off the coast of Chile, -2.2 off Stanley 2016 figures from roughly map centre: NTTR -12 Caucasus -7.2 PGulf -2.1 Marianas -0.8 Syria -4.9 South Atlantic West -15 East -2.2 Attention @Alpenwolf

How do you switch to NVG's please? I can't find the command anywhere?
-
Command George to switch between FLIR/DTV or swap FLIR polarity
Ian Boys UK replied to Mad_Shell's topic in Wish List
This would be very useful -
(Disclaimer: I don't know for sure) It seems to me that the AT-11 Sniper shouldn't set off a missile warning in the Apache as it is essentially fired like a tank round and without the telltale launch plume.

Please can we have that in the Hind too? It's crazy that a Huey can fly past and Petro never even mentions it.
-
thanks i'll give it a try

Does anyone know the right name for the livery folder for this bird please?

What is the button for activating the NVGs please? I can't find it anywhere

Easy to fly, hard to operate.

Cursor functions won't bind, cursor press does
Ian Boys UK replied to Airwolf466's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Yep same. Both for pilot and CPG. Sometimes moves a bit but unreliable. -
Yes this
-
I find it defaults to the Gunner MFDs even when I'm flying as the pilot
-
yes, main and two MFDs

I thought George was meant to be bottom right? I have him front and centre, right in the way of everything.

Strange ending to Phone Booth tonight. Red held Beslan but Blue still won??

One of the SME's said about a week ago that he had been in a 5 player mission with Wags and some real Apache pilots and they had tested multiplayer and hellfires, including buddy lasing and that it felt good and was working well so I took that as a reason to be optimistic. Two of the helicopters were multicrew and the third was solo and the interaction went well.

"Perevodi v nabor" or what?? Please help! Su-27 or Mig-29.
Ian Boys UK replied to Ian Boys UK's topic in DCS 2.9
Thank you. That's exactly what I was after. At least I wasn't too far out. -
Hi all, For so many years I've been listening to Rita (Russian Bitching Betty) say something like Perevodi v nabor when you approach the ground in a Su-27, Mig-29 etc. I speak Russian but I cannot for the life of me make out what she is saying and every year or so I hear something different. Please can someone tell me what it is. To be clear, I'm looking for the Russian. The meaning is obvious (don't crash!!) Thank you so much. It really gets to me that I can't make out the words. I know it doesn't really matter but please
