  1. You change that in the mission editor. Select your plane, press PAYLOAD and then change the ON-BOARD # (aircraft number).
  2. 1st Rule of Presentation is know your audience and pitch your talk at the right level for them. The original poster laid out his experience and Ice replied with a cool little montage that elegantly explained a useable tactic (2nd Rule of Presentation - a picture is worth a thousand words). Rep inbound...
  3. Here are some funnies I did years ago over on the UBI forum, some folks here may not have seen them...
  4. Rugg, you found a new Avatar for me! Thanks mate..... :) Of course the radar sweep is turning the "wrong" way making it doubly funny. Reminded me of an April fool gag we played years ago when I was working at Marconi. Sent out a software build to the testing guys with the sweep going anti-clockwise. Took the dumb bunnies a day to spot it was going backwards, so they didn't even think April Fool....
  5. Sadly couldn't make it. :( Been to many in the past - always great fun. Rekoal - I can't seem to get to LockonSkins is there a problem?
  6. Mizzy - Greetings back at you.... I can remember Vulcans flying over head when I was a kid. Aaah happy days. When we had an Air Force and Navy full of diverse and interesting aircraft. Jester - great link. If I'm ever in S.A. I might give that a go - Buc obviously !!
  7. See these old threads about how to edit MEInit to allow AI helo's to operate from more platforms. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=976105825 (halfway down) http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/502109745?r=502109745#502109745 I think helo's can land on any surface. Back in the day I tried to simulate a heliborne assault on a beach by having AI helo's with minimum fuel starting out at sea at a distance that meant they could just make it to a forced landing near the coastline "feet dry". I managed to make a UH-60, CH-53 and a CH-47 all land within a reasonable size landing zone in a field just inland of the beach a few Km's short of Kerch-Bagerovo. CH-47 went about 60nm, UH-60 about 50nm and CH-53 about 45nm. A long time since I did this as I mentioned, I seem to recall that I had them flying straight at an airbase, as if I did not then they would try to divert toward a base and end up ditching at sea.
  8. 3-Fudd, These are the only two sites I know that might help you.... http://www.scramble.nl/ru.htm Click on Order of Battle, then on the pulldown menu select a district, choose "North Caucasus". For Crimea and Georgia/Abkhazia, choose "Units Abroad". http://www.russianairfields.com/refmap.htm Seems to show that apart from Armavir (which anyway is off the North edge of the Lockon map so no good to you) there is nothing significant in the area you mentioned.
  9. Do yo want to see those damn elephants or not? LMAO - great find Suntrace1, rep inbound..... Gonna post link on Lockonfiles for my Bro's over there
  10. Ditto for me. I can't rep you unless I spread it around first....
  11. Sweet screenies mate, really pretty.....
  12. I can still remember the first time I saw the Red Arrows do the heart at a UK airshow (they used red smoke). Everyone was wondering what they were doing, then when it was complete - the crowd went nuts......
  13. Happy B'day Swartz. Being assigned to UK? I'm guessing he'll be at Mildenhall then.......
  14. If you have set up aircraft using beginloop and endloop, they will keep going until they get low on fuel, so give them less fuel in the Payload screen. Of course that is a guess then of how long they will keep going. Instead of beginloop and endloop, you could use a lot of waypoints to make them fly the BARCAP line say 10 times, (it is a lot more work for you in the Editor) then you know after they have finished they will go to land.
  15. Iggy - you actually got to work on that Skyraider? You lucky, lucky dog!! :)
  16. Nice! The real Red Arrows went over my house yesterday lunchtime on their way into London.....
  17. Yep, I've a couple of grey Reps too. Maybe they are from folks who still only have black and white monitors -perhaps we need to start an appeal? What do we want? Colour monitors for all! When do we want it? NOW!!
  18. Can make a big difference. You have to have the same version. Youwill find most everyone on HyperLobby is v1.12, not sure about UBI, I think there are some v1.02 and some v1.12 ?? Sometimes the name of the Lobby helpfully contains the version used.
  19. Yes it is. But dont be thinking such negative waves man, look at it in a positive way. You could look at it as they are breaking into the military market which gives them:- a) some valuable income that they can spend on developing future Sims. b) added expertise.
  20. Bandit AI are superhuman it seems and not affected by such things. Whereas the Friendly AI will jettison their weapon load at the slightest SAM threat, or run out of fuel and run back to base just when you need their help. It all adds to the fun!!
  21. Nice job JEFX. Am cutting and pasting this info into my Lockon Big Compendium of Knowledge right now. :) The ground artillery gap between the big bunch and the smaller bunch ties in with something I've observed recently when I had a SAU-Bereg shooting up some passing ships. I'd assumed the gap was because of the ships coming in and out of range, but now I see that this was the reason.
  22. That's a good question Lefty! To be honest I don't know, I've never tested that.....
  23. ...and here's the tune that goes with it - LOL
  24. "He's fallen in the water!" LMAO - as a Goons fan, I should've seen that coming, but I didn't and almost sprayed coffee all over my keyboard......
