For the record. I bought SH3 and patched it to the version 1.1. I have a DVD Rom and a burner whit which Nero have come. I had no problem at all to run the game or to burn with my burner.

@DEV team I was thinking of submiting animated soldiers as models. Will there be any chance at all to include them in LockOn or should I pass my way on this one ??? Thx for the awnser.

@SF I bought Silent Hunter 3 last weekend. That game uses SF protection. If I install FC (Lockon 1.1 ) will I have some sort of conflict between SF from FC and SF from SH3 ??? Thank you for awnsering.

Except it looks like you don't need to use a new registration when you reinstall on a single piece of hardware - you only need to use one registration for each hardware setup. As such, there is NO limit to the number of times you can install it on a single hardware platform. In any case, since ED are managing the downloads and payment from their own servers, it should be reasonably easy to prove that you've actually bought the game. From there, it should be easy for ED to actually give you a new set of activations for your key Whether they will actually do anything like that, nobody's saying. In that case why ED dosent generate unique key which is binded to the guy who bought the game. In case of leak it will be easy to know who spread the copy. The pirate can only crack the game if he/she has the complete software. Knowing that your name is binded to the serial should discourage buyers from giving out the game for free to a "friend". However in order to prevent any leak of serials all information should be stored on the computer which is not connected to the internet.

My 2cts on this. What do you think about Il-2 FB series. Mr Olleg is asking the community to developp 3d models and then sels them as add-on. This is not a case with ED. I have all IL-2 series and Lockon bought legally, as far as I'm concerned the only thing I worry about FC is what will happen after limit of activation is reached ??? Cheers.

Just to awnser you. Win 95 is an OS LockOn is a game. When I bought Falcon 4.0 I had Win 95 on my HD. Now I have Win XP and Falcon 4.0 is still on my HD. @ Starforce. Hello. Thank you for passing by. What will happen if SF goes down (not that I wish such thing to happen) ? Who will support the protection since it's a driver and as every driver it needs continious support ???? @britgliderpilot May I give you a tip. In your next flightsim if you include Mirage 2000-5 as flyable plane, beleive me you will have french market and a very large fan base there. We are asking for Mirage 2000-5 since Falcon 4.0 and nothing.

Hello Stormin. I know the job you did for Lock On and this community when the software was released first time. However I have to ask you a question. I need an awnser from a community member. Do you think that in lets say 10 years from now the Lock On will be still installed on our HD ???? As for my part I think that this will be a case, just like it's a case for Jane's F/A-18 and Falcon 4.0. Now considering the fact that Microprose and Jane's are out of buisness imagine what would have happened if they have implemeted the kind of protection the ED wants us to accept. Don't get me wrong nor any other member of the Lock On community. I love this game and I say, thank you ED for this game. I also know that ED have to protect its job and that's OK with me. But what I don't understant is why ED is shooting it self in the foot ? Many ppl here have the issue with the SF being choosen as copyprotection but not with the copyprotection itself. And to matter be worse, we need an activation key which means that we depends on some company that can go off buisness next year. @ED Someone said that downloading part of FC is a bonus for ED. Then why all this ??? Why you don't give us a unique permanent key besed on SSL 3.0 encryption generated from your server when we start the download. Encrypte the key verification file whitin exe file. It will save us alot of trouble and you won't loose major part of fan base in western countries.

Can you explain me where is the problem with CDs plz ??? You wont play 1.1 on april but on june is that right ??? Patience is a virtue. ED go for CDs. I'm ready to pay 50 € for it, if I know that I will not have to ask for activation key when I change my hardware.

IMHO the best thing to cut all this crap for ED is to distribute CDs. We buy the CD with the protection support on it and there will be no such things as activation key or spreading out info on our hardware configuration to the net. After all if we were able to wait so long for 1.1 we could wait few more weeks no ??? :wink:

Ok, but the Microsoft is a huge company. If Microsoft goes down (which will never happen at least during my lifetime) 90 % of market will go with it. On other hand ED and Star Force are small very small companies. So if one of these goes down how I will do to recover my code if the code change after 3 installations ???

I didn't vote because there is no option for me. I'll buy the game but only if they use protection which dosent require internet connection in case of new installation. If I pay for product I don't want to be tied to Star Force server or to internet just to be able to install it. (I said goodby to Half-Life 2 and to Valve for this same reason) I don't have internet connection at home, only at my office. So how I'm supposed to install this add-on ?? I have nothing against using Star Force as copy protection (I never had any kind of problem with other games using it). ED guys can you awnser me to this question plz. By the time you got firing solution the helo will change the position and you will have to recalculate all over again if you are not dead off course. There is no secret. If you want to get rid of helos and planes use vehicules dedicated to the air defence
