You're right, that does sound silly. I will do some testing with the A-10 since I'm curious now myself.
-
Yeah Ragnar, I noticed the warm up time on the patriot missile systems. But their hard lock was the same both times. But yeah, Eddie describes it pretty much what I have always thought. Just a prop for you to feel safe.
-
My current results show that the detection and hard lock were obtained at the exact same time (With and without the pods), these tests also were repeated with the SAM at medium and Expert levels. So bug or no bug, as far as the SU-25T is concerned, the ECM pods are meaningless "right now" against the high level SAMS. Have not tried the lower level, but I assume it will be the same story. Don't know about the A-10C, I will test that this week and we shall see.

Thought so... Ok then, I'm never flying with that waste for a pylon ECM pod. Just gonna equip two more AA missiles on there instead. Lord knows you need em... Thanks for the answer.

I have been currently doing some testing that I need to refine and continue on a broader stage, but I have been testing to see how effective the ECM is currently for the SU-25T. It would be the two jammer pods you put on the exterior pylons for when you are doing SEAD. My current tests show a 0% effect on SAMS. However what I was looking at is when the SAMS would see me, lock me up, and fire at me. The systems I checked so far were the SA-10, SA-11, and Patriot missile systems, tested at both medium and expert levels. The sites were placed in an open non hilly terrain. I went in without any ECM and IR jammers on and saw what ranges everythign happened at. I then repeated the same procedure with both ECM and IR jammers on (Not that the IR jammer would do anythign in this situation). Both times I was at a steady 3500m altitute. Absolutely 0% difference in everything. Therefore what I would like to know is what exactly is the ECM supposed to do for a SU-25T, because perhaps I am not using it for the right purpose. PS: I am in the process of checking this with shorter range SAMs. Will post ranges and all that jazz when done. PPS: The IR jammer works beautifully by the way.

Rockets kill performance 40 fps down to 5fps

Hmm, have not seen much of a drop, but I think we can all agree that the MLRS systems firing will melt your computer. -
Mighty amraam not so mighty in real life?

GGTharos, sent ya a PM. Due to this becoming such a heated but enthusiastic conversation, I want to make a tutorial video of these proper techniques with you, though we might want to wait till 1.2.3 comes out. Send me a PM back if you are interested and we can work out the details in PMs. Then I'l post this up here when it's done, and this will serve as a proper training tool to teach people about all the things they have been doing wrong so far. (Including me, I suck at dog fighting, though not that much when I did it for real in Air Combat USA with Linebacker :) ) -
Obviously this has nothing to do with the movie or Bin Laden, however the layout and style of mission is very similar to that, so it fits it well. The first half of the video is us just getting to and planning the mission out at the AO. The action starts around the 8:00 minute mark, Enjoy!

Chaff and flare in one button, otherwise that would have just been silly. As for the gear, that's a no no. I basically had no easy way to level the wings out at all. I was stuck landing that sucker sideways. Had my gear come down, those little tiny stumps would have surely toppled me over upside down, and I would have died before coming to a stop. Belly landing was my best option. There is a lot from the footage that you didn't see, but after losing my wing, I continued to press down the coast and provide SEAD cover for over two enemy airfields. Nothing popped up on radar though, so I decided to land 2 airfields down since my fuel was bingo. Had there been something there, I would have still went after it hehe. PS: Someone on reddit made this gif to the video, lols:
-
I didn't jettison them because I wanted to continue my SEAD mission, even if only with one wing.

A normal person would have ejected I'm not a normal person:

Hey are you free today? This Sunday? Around 8pm Eastern? We need people to fill some A-10 positions for a mission I will be filming.

Issue is, that I was higher and just as fast as he was, therefore I would have had a missile shot on him first. I know in TWS you do what's called a soft lock and the missile fires and then turns on it's radar, but I've been told it happens within a few seconds. So I'm realllllly not sure what the hell happened there. Linebacker experienced the same thing with him, and it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. I'l have a look at the tacview if the track is still there, but that pissed us off rather hard...

We would love to. However, the way the mission designer made the mission, was such that we were at a disadvantage. We could not get low past waypoint 1, where the TORs and other IR Shorads were targeting us. It forced us to go head to head instead. I'm still pissed as hell that at a head on target that I was HIGHER and just as fast at I shot first and broke, got a missile warning launch 2 seconds later, then 1 second later I got splashed. I have no goddamn idea what that's about. I know you soft lock a target through TWS and all that, but aint no way he fired at me first and my MWS decided to just fu*k me... We were bitching about that for a while...

Yeah i didnt read the PDF till later, and I see now what you did. I think what we are going to do is edit TUSK to start with HAWG, and each element will have the same waypoints till the split. Hawgs will go one way, while TUSK goes the other route, we will split up the work load during our brief. 1.2.3 had no mention of fixing the tanker issue, or it might be a different issue altogether, we wont know till we experiment. This wont be up until next week though, so Il report back later. Cheers!
-
Did a dry run and we like it but we did have some issues with two guys in the same flight group having different waypoints. Another issue was Senaki, being such a large airfield, but lacking both ILS and Tacan, we were limping back home with no navigation on either one of us... landing was rather interesting... after 30 minutes of trying to find the airfield through that damn fog that is hahaah. So we are editing out the tankers, since its causing people to crash (some known bug with radio frequencies or some BS), and changing some waypoints and what not, but keeping the mission pretty much the same and flying it with some people hopefully this week. If it all looks good, then we shall post the video up for you here. Nice job on it man!

Hmm... I know I have run into this problem several times in this patch. Well if it happens again I will post track here.

use a GBU-12 as shown in the video. You are using everything BUT the bombs I used so far lol.

I'm all for abandoning georgia and staying with Nevada and multicore if only.

whats the best way to give you a track? Last time i tried uploading a file to here it didnt go so well. Il try again. EDIT: No more track... I clean out my files and folders a bit too regularly it seems hahaah. No worries though. Il have a new track for you soon enough I'm sure.

Well when she was burning she was still targeting me, so I just kept on hitting her till she caved. Much like my sex life. 1.2.2, there have been other incidences where this has happened. It has not been fixed fully.
-
I thought I read somewhere that they fixed this issue, but apparently... that's a no...?
-
This bug really needs to be fixed already....
