Pete is my DCS BFF. "Yehhh! Target destroyed, Commander!"

Hi all, Flew the Horsefly FAC train mission in the Mossie and in the A-10C (just to be sure, because BRRRT) and the train seemingly takes no damage. Track file attached with A-10 GAU-8 run. trains.trk

Yeah I don't think you can change the map objects. There is a Russian transport that is a map object in Georgia and I think the characters in the A-10 campaign make some sort of joke about it

What to expect after owning a WinWing product for 1 year
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to Terminator357's topic in Winwing
Do you have the Orion base and F16EX grip per chance? -
CA Frontlines Georgia
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to NineLine's topic in Combined Arms: Frontlines Georgia
:)))) I haven't pulled the trigger on the campaign itself but will after the update. I love Combined Arms and glad to hear there are some core issues that are being worked on. Were you the one who added the new WW2 missions per chance? I was happy to see CA get some fresh content after all these years. (high poly Abrams, Bradley, and Humvee when ED? ) -
Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

What would a realistic composition of that be? PAC 2, PAC 3, NASAMs AMRAAM, NASAMS 9X, C-RAM? -

Thanks for your anecdote Terminator, glad to hear they made it right. How does one get ahold of Max? -
Chaff/Flares: how to configure them well?
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to visor2580's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
That is awesome, I have a similar setup but yours looks more efficient. Do you also have a similar setup for other modules, like the Hornet? -
I saw your reply in another post, but to chime in on this one: I have the full F-16 HOTAS plus the Hornet combat panel. The throttle and combat panel are brilliant and only complaint was the tiny little nuts/washers arriving with packaging broken and I had to track them down to make sure I had enough pieces to assemble/mount it. The stick base/grip has been a constant headache for 14 months and I have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick I use as my primary as I constantly get the runaround and try to fix my Winwing stick/base. I really wanted it to work out, because I love how their buttonology is totally NATO airframe agnostic and works across the Viper, Hornet, Hog, and Harrier vs the Thrustmaster being Hog specific and the Virpil being more Soviet-inspired...while I love my Hind, Hip and MiG-15, everything else I have is Western and the Winwing Orion base is much more sensible. At my last job I did export for 13 years to all over Asia and China was consistently in the top three customers, so I know how tech support, shipping, customs, and all that work, as well as being able to pre-empt questions to save a day of back and forth emails. My Chinese customers did the same in order to not waste time = their money. So I'm not going to be one of those guys that hate on them because THeYrE FroM ChiNa pLuS WuHaN/CoViD. Besides, I'm Chinese When I was ordering my stick I'd joke to my friends it was the second coolest thing to come out of China since my dad. Edited: a couple others on HOTAS off the top of my head with the random disconnect problem: 83% of people who play Russian Roulette are totally fine, and my grandmother smoked and lived to 97. If you're a gambling man, go for it. Also, buy a hot glue gun.

I take it you're not a gambler? -

May I suggest a modernized US mobile SHORAD system such as the Stryker M-SHORAD or the Avenger with proposed upgraded Avenger that has the AIM-9X and Hellfires? ^_^ -
Did you ship it back to China for a return or repair?

Orion 2 F18 base/stick disconnects randomly!
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to Evocati443's topic in Winwing
Hey I thought I got this thing (Orion 1 base with F-16EX grip) fixed after replacing a few circuit boards, but still having disconnects. Curious if the others here have gotten their stick issues resolved? -
Chaff/Flares: how to configure them well?
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to visor2580's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks, Raptor! I know that's probably basic and second nature to a lot of people but one of the things I love about DCS is it seems to be an endless stream of new things for me to learn I've been spending so much time in the Hind my BVR skills have been getting really flabby. -
Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
What's the worst thing that can happen if you don't use a mod manager? I just have a folder that I drop a few mods into (Barthek's being the largest, but also Why485's dots, and my countermeasure profiles) into my DCS install folder every update. -
Chaff/Flares: how to configure them well?
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to visor2580's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Hey Raptor, Which of those programs do you use for BVR? And do you use any flare program pre-emptively when merged with bandits? Thanks and editing my .luas now ^_^ -
feedback Raven One Campaign Review / Feedback
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to jmarso's topic in F/A-18C Raven One Campaign
Taz, give some of his earlier campaigns, like Georgian War if you like air to air, and Enemy Within 3, a try. Neither campaign involves a strike package with lots of AI allies that will break triggers. I replayed Georgian War (my DCS gateway drug) recently and didn't notice any broken triggers despite being older. -
Glaciers have grass (and some clumps of trees) on them...thanks, climate change? Eg: Perito Moreno glacier: -camera 98.126261 0.360707 -990.483180 -cameradir -0.586176 -0.217912 -0.7803281 Upsala glacier: -camera 182.393663 1.163979 -1025.688335 -cameradir 0.684858 -0.299080 -0.664470 Yes, there is a FOB on a glacier...why not?

Curious too, I also get distance, but twitching azimuth needle. Following Chuck's guide, Dora manual, plus various past forum posts.

AFN-2 Homing on Channel (and Normandy) Map? How?
Colonel Akir Nakesh replied to Eisprinzessin's topic in DCS: The Channel
Did you manage to get it to work? I'm following Chuck's guide and not sure if I'm setting it up wrong or if it's actually still broken -
I think this folder, at least for me, is when I save my stick/throttle/rudder profiles, it saves my importable/exportable file to this folder.
