  1. Yeah ... I'm wondering that if it didn't crash for me but crashing for players who are better at following procedure if any of the crashes could be induced by the triggers that I missed... thought it might help you narrow it down! Either way if we need to wait for a core DCS fix I'm pumped with all the Mirage Red Flag updates in the latest patch and happy to fly that to bide our time. I miss flying with Max hehe
  2. Another thought: was there a Tomcat on the cat next to you? I've noticed I can't hook up next to a hooked up Tomcat since their wings are too wide, and the deck crew will wait for it to take off before giving you the hand signal to approach and hook you up. BD: was able to take off from cat on mission 14 though Olive scraped my nose with her wing (without causing damage), v2.8 Nov 1 (before Nov 2 hotfix)
  3. Hey BD not sure if this helps, but I flew it in 2.8 and it didn't crash. I have the Tomcat installed. I remember getting the radio calls for the BDA, *maybe* the ones about AAR, but definitely not about switching to marshal and heading back to the carrier, kissing off, etc like I typically do. After Cajun told me he'd stay with Weed and said I could RTB, I headed straight for the carrier TACAN directly, and bypassed the get well point waypoint and its associated triggers?
  4. FWIW: Was able to complete missions 10 (score 80), 11 (100), 12 (80), 13 (96) in DCS v2.8 so far... Crossing my fingers for #14
  5. Looks like there are tons of issues with R1DF that are sadly out of BD's control... has anyone tried reverting to OB 2.7.15.26783 and did it solve all the Tomcat-induced issues?
  6. Thanks, I love that mission!
  7. Hyped for this. I had so many AI issues with the campaign the first time I played it, especially mission 10 and have been hankering to fly it again and enjoy it properly this time! Thanks BD!
  8. Yeap, my 'spare' Thrustmaster HOTAS is back in while I've been troubleshooting my new F-16EX ...
  9. Hey thanks for your quick reply! Would it be as simple as changing the unit type to the Hind in the mission editor then flying it as a single mission?
  10. I'm interested in this campaign but don't have the Ka-50 or Hip, but am a total Hindboy... would it be possible to also have this campaign for the Hind? :))
  11. Hello, Mission 02 freezes for me on start. Can't hit ESC to close and save a track, I have to close using task manager. Flew mission 01 just fine, and mission 03 seems to start just fine. I tried deleting all blue coalition except player flight and all enemies except target groups and threatening flak, and all static objects, and still freezes on start. Can I somehow provide a track file even though the game freezes and I can't ESC out of the mission properly?
  12. Hey thanks! I'll look there! Appreciate it (and the link, I'm a Discord noob), I hadn't even thought of that.
  13. Same! They are going to send me a new pc board for both the stick and grip next.... Man I wish the service was less DIY, I've been troubleshooting for months since I bought it
  14. Hello from 2022, was trying to figure what I was doing wrong and stumbled upon this post.. OP hadn't provided a track, so here's mine quickmission.trk
  15. Basically! It destroys the old part, which they suspected didn't work. Well I got my new cables all put in...but still having disconnect problems! Hopefully tech support can figure out a solution. They told me they can't just send me a new Orion 1 since they don't make 'em anymore...so wondering how they're gonna honor the 1 year warranty if I can't get a fix.
  16. So the Variable missions might well be the majority of my DCS stick time over the past few months, encountered a few bugs in my travels across them: Krasnodar Variable: Crash Site: Chinook takes off and returns to Krasnodar. Setting Chinook to uncontrolled seems to fix this. Persian Gulf Variable: 'Go back to main menu' doesn't work for air to air or long distance missions. (for air to air, ww2 and Korean missions stay and doesn't add back easy/medium/hard/helo/a2a f10 options, and for long distance, while main menu is added back, two of the long distance mission options remain) Normandy Variable: At unattended ww2 airfield, the Ju88s will attempt to taxi and takeoff.. Setting to uncontrolled may fix this? There is also a Halftrack that will shoot at the player. Also, on the WW2 easy air to air, the Dora and BF109 will jettison their bags, not sure if this is intended, but adding restrict jettison to WP0 advanced options will fix this if they are intended to leave their bags on for easier difficulty. Thanks again for these great missions!
  17. Thanks Hawk! I got the base apart but getting the connector to the F-16EX base required a few tools and force. According to Winwing's instructions, I put tweezers into the bad/old connector and bash it in with a hammer, then I could use the tweezers to pry out the rest of the parts of the connector. I was then able to put my replacement connector cable in and am on day 2 of testing and so far no problems. Winwing assured me that while it would require a bit of force, it is necessary to get the old cable out, and I was a little gunshy about using more force than necessary in case I really messed things up.
  18. Man, I'd love an India Foxt Echo F-35 in DCS, even if it were only 2/3 fidelity!
  19. I just got a response from tech support that came in over Saturday's business hours, so they are still helping with support where they can. But yeah probably not gonna get parts or product from them ATM.
  20. Have you worked with their support at all? I've been going back and forth with them and they sent me some cables to try to figure out how to do it myself. The grip connector cable they sent me looks sturdier than the past one maybe that might help if you haven't tried getting one from them? I'm still having issues but hopefully it solves yours....
  21. Hey all, I'm going back and forth with Winwing over the last 2 months trying to troubleshoot why my Orion 1 and F16EX stick and grip keep disconnecting. Over some time we finally got to a point they sent me connector cables for where the stick meets the base. I was able to figure out how to swap out the stick cable but still trying to get ample instructions from them on how to change it out from the base. The instructions on their website don't seem to cover tearing down the base, but tech support seems to be 'here's a part, figure out how to change it out'. Has anyone had any luck breaking down their Orion 1 base in order to change out parts and if so, I could really use your assistance on how to change out the connector cable!
  22. I started getting disconnects again as well yesterday and today. Now trying to figure out how to replace the connector in the base. How has it been going since your post last week?
  23. Whew, glad my goofs were able to help someone else!!
  24. Check if the same button conflicts with your seat vs the AI helper... eg AH64D Pilot vs George AI helper. Normally it warns you of a conflict, but since the AH64D pilot and George AI are sort of different aircraft as far as the game is concerned, it won't notify you of a conflict and one will take precedence over the other.. I've had this happen to me as well, so hopefully your problem is as simple as that ^_^
  25. Have you checked if your firmware is current? When my Orion 1 and F16EX grip were delivered, the axes worked but none of the buttons were responding, but updating the firmware solved the issue.
