  1. It is the fov button. That is the magnification for me.
  2. The MiG-29 is a beast in real life according former pilots. It is a lot of power and very light. I love this fighter but I can't fly it well at all. I try.... But it is by far my worst module.
  3. Funny I can remove the chocks on the Hornet and Mirage with the engine running and the brake off. Engine rpm on the Mirage at idle is 49% and the Hornet is around 60.
  4. So I have never noticed this before but the 701IR has the most powerful magnification I have ever seen. It's narrow view is closer than the WMD pod or even the lightning pod. Hell I can almost read the VIN number on a car from 15nm with that thing. It's better for scouting than the WMD pod. Is this correct?
  5. Against AI the jammer on the JF and Mirage are amazing and overpowered. I can avoid fox-1 missiles fired by the AI just by cycling the jammer on and off and a slight turn. One day we will get jamming for all aircraft and modeled. But that is on ED not the third party teams.
  6. From what I have been able to glean over about twelve hours of research this weekend. They have never mounted rocket pods on stations 3 and 5. But there has been tests of the SD-10 on the wingtip stations of 1 and 7. The PAF has begun replacing or upgrading all existing JF-17s to the newer smokeless RD93 engines. But this is mostly a block upgrade from Block 1 to Block 2 and 3 models. The 3 model is the biggest change in the airframe. It sheds weight gains a EEC system for the engine, a new radar and a different tail for better control at high AoA. The Block 3 also goes 3 axis FBW. And allegedly they have further reduced the cross section of the aircraft with new composite materials and "stealth" paint... That last one I would take with a grain of salt. Also all versions can have the gun swapped from the 23mm to the 30mm for air to ground support. But not sure this is something that would effect us much in game. Another thing the JF is also capable of using the AIM-9L/M, PL-5E, PL-9C. And a newer ARM the MAR-1 on the wing 2 and 6 pylons. Finding images or pictures of the aircraft loaded with any of this is nearly impossible without going in theater and attempting to get them yourself. And with the world environment being the way it is now that IS impossible. There is video of the JF-17 with smokeless engines from an airshow two or three years ago. Now with all of that said. I have never been asking for BRM rocket pods on the inner hardpoints.
  7. So if it is from you why didn't you go with that loadout? And with more information on the Block 2 and 3 JFs no longer having smoking engines is this a possibility?
  8. Because it is from a Myanmar website.
  9. Yep it's from ARMA3. This is a real Shilka firing. Still a lot of rounds but different sound. https://youtu.be/6hIhANtU-rs
  10. Yes they were in that thread. Doesn't matter though. Those are from outside resources. This is why you don't put in service new fighters in a game. To much speculation and not enough hard facts.
  11. I am right there with you. I am not all excited about late 90s generation 4+ fighters. I want height of the Cold War fighters 70s and 80s fighters. Back before everything was fire and forget.
  12. Most of them are a type of proximity detonation round. I believe they explode over a set time to keep them from randomly falling all over the place.
  13. Upper one in chinese is a block 1. Lower is block 2. It is pretty easy to find block 1 diagrams for loadouts. But the block 2 appears to have a lot of dispute in what it can and can't do. Found one page in a military journal covering the current operational capacity of the PAK Airforce and the JF 17. Few if any take off with more than 2 SD-10s but it is known for them to have the ability to carry more. And most of the operational use has been training with very limited combat operations. Mostly CAP. Some have been spotted with GBUs and there has been reports of them being used in air strikes. I expect with the block 3s starting to roll off the line and the block 4 in concept, the block 2 information will start to become more available.
  14. From my horrible translation skills one is for the block 1 FC-1 the other is the block 2 Jf-17. Now I believe we have the block 2 version of the JF-17. The Block 3 I can't find any solid information on its capabilities. But it is supposedly equipped with a more powerful engine and a stronger radar and a longer range BVR missile.... But I can't find confirmation on any of that.
  15. The JF does have 3 wing hardpoints. The points 3 and 5 are near the wing root. Those are the ones you can currently mount the 802ak and 1100l drop tanks.
  16. Here are two more images of documents claiming the loadout of the 17.
  17. Unfortunately no. I am digging through the web now. And on my phone while doing it. So my resources are limited. Had I done this research 10-15 years ago on an aircraft that had been out for nearly 12 years I would have mounds of data. I used to do a lot of digging and research like this when I got out of the military.
  18. So I found an older document flyer for the Myanmar military about the JF-17. It shows 250kg dual bomb racks on stations 2,3,5,6. And the 802AK on stations 3,4,5. Edit- I have even found claims by the PLAAF and Pakistani Airforce that the SD-10 can be mounted on the wingtip hardpoints. I have yet to find an image but several documents from the PLAAF FC-1 is claiming this. If so this would give it an air to air missile load very close to the F-16. Also there is a newer ARM in service on the Block 2 versions and later. It has a longer range and far closer to the US AGM-88 HARM.
  19. So all we have to do is find verifiable pictures of it loaded on that pylon. Sounds like a challenge.
  20. I don't know what speed that is.. but last night on Hoggits GAW server I had a pair of MANPADS launched at me and I was doing 590kts at 1000ft AGL. It was witnessed by a KA-50 pilot who was providing close air support. It was the only reason I avoided the second one. Thank God for SRS.
  21. Have you flown on Hoggits Georgia at War? He does a good job of setting up pretty decent SAM defenses.
  22. Light up is the best way I can describe it. I don't get the red patch anymore just a black patch with a very thin red outline. Before you could clearly see the red patch. Sidearm tone will continue to sound like it has a lock after launch of one, even if you have turned cold. You have to cycle cage and uncage to reset. The gun pipper is high compared to round impact point. Even when coming in on a textbook run. I am not talking a few feet, I am talking your shots land almost a full gun pip circle below the pip.
  23. Oh it's still bad for your health if you engage a proper setup defense. But if you work in conjunction with a HARM strike by a pair of F-18s and you fly in low. The SAMs have a choice. Usually they go after the high slower targets first, then low fast. Or leave you to the AAA and MANPADS. It's a fun coordinated strike.
  24. Then explain why we can't have cluster bombs or a high drag bomb on those pylons. A bomb is a bomb.
  25. I would love to have more options for the inner pylons payloads. Even if it is some more mk20 cluster bombs.
