  1. I want MIG-29SMU... that would be nice...
  2. Is your laser on when you fire it or are you accidentally turning your laser off after firing?
  3. The last part is true of most fighters.
  4. Good tests. But is there an issue with these numbers? I haven't had a real good chance to compare to any data I have on the 27 at home. And you are absolutely right about the forum editor.
  5. Fair enough. On a side note I do think all BVR missiles right now are acting odd. Not just fox-3s.
  6. I thought we were talking about the guy in the F-16? And I don't use a script but yet I can get bursts that close. I have chaff set to one button and flare to another on my FC3 aircraft.
  7. Script? LoL what?! You know every high fidelity module with countermeasures made from 1970-2010 all have programmable countermeasures.
  8. I would like to say it isn't just AMRAAMs. But all fox 3 missiles and even fox 1 missiles. I have had a AIM-7MH turn almost 60deg from target to go after chaff when I had a lock on the target the whole time. I have had the R-27ER and the 530D Super Matra go almost 70deg off target for chaff.
  9. Like every engagement the tactics used to survive will have to be flexible. If you have the luxury of keeping distance do it. If you don't you should know what your enemy is capable of. Don't underestimate the capability of their aircraft or the pilot. And lastly fight to your strengths not theirs. Force them to fight on your terms if able. These are the things I do in a Mirage to be successful against spamraam trucks. And it works even in other fox-1 aircraft like the Mig-29 and Su-27/33. I am sure you can use a variation of this for the Harrier but in close the Harrier is at a major disadvantage due to its lower energy state. I like the Harrier but the version we have is no fighter. That would be like strapping lipstick on a warthog and calling it your prom date.
  10. So doing some research on the Ukrainian MiG-29 and the upgrades to their fleet I have found they use the 29SM. And it recently was overhauled to allow it to use guided air to ground weapons like the K-29T and K-29 IR, along with TV and IR guided bombs. I would love to see a MiG-29SM in game. It would be a nice counter to the F-16C Block 50 as they are about the same age.
  11. True. But who has time for that? LoL
  12. The 15E is technically post 90. While it entered service in 1989 it didn't see action or until 1991. But I will let it go because we don't even have that yet.
  13. Of all of the aircraft from RAZBAM the Mirage 2000c has had the least issues. And it is by far the easiest to learn. Now I don't mean that as a knock on RAZBAM. Just the Mirage is one of the least technically demanding aircraft in the list. It is pretty cut and dry.
  14. I want the upgraded Ukrainian version of the 29. It is basically an A with the improved radar found on the later models.
  15. LoL yeah right up there next to the MiG-29s, F-15s, F-14s and rocket ship F-16s.
  16. The Mirage doesn't turn off it's radar to do it. Not in game anyway. Also the Mirage has a pretty weak radar. You can detect a F-18 closing at co-alt. Around 50nm at best. Usually about 30-40nm. The Hornet will see you at 70nm. Your jammer will buy you maybe 10nm before they burn through it. And you still have to close to within 16nm to get any chance with the 530d.
  17. The Blue Angels have a history of flying the previous generation of attack or fighters from the USN. So they went from the F6F to the soon F/A-18E Super Hornet. The 18E is coming to the end of it's service life with the introduction of the F-35 Lightning II. (Not going to debate this or argue this I have strong feelings against the 35.) The only reason the Blue Angels used the A-4 was because the F-4 were in the process of being completely retired from USN service. The A-4 was still in service. It helps the A-4 has a really high roll rate but it has a rather poor power to weight ratio.
  18. Who uses autostart on the Mirage? It takes 6-8 minutes to start the aircraft with alignment.
  19. Not just Aim-120s. Aim-54s R-77s. And the SD-10 All have the same issue.
  20. Yep my typical flight in the 29 is take off with afterburner then throttle back to full mil power till I hit 500km/h then start a climb at 40m/s roughly and take my time to 9km alt and then throttle back to 80-85% and cruise forever.
  21. The A-4E Skyhawk was used as an aggressor fighter by TOP GUN and well it was no fighter. This doesn't mean that in a real world fight or in a DCS "real world" fight that it is a fighter or a good fighter or even a mediocre fighter. The same goes for the AV8B NA. I have the module I like it and I have used it for air to air. But it is NO fighter. It hemorrhages energy in a turn fight, one circle or two circle. It has horrible low speed and high angle of attack handling. It has a pretty poor sustained turn rate when compared to true fighters like the Hornet or Falcon. It is like comparing the IL-2 to a bf-109F4.
  22. I never forget the basics. The Art of War -Sun Tzu. Dicta Boelcke - Oswald Boelcke. And Malan's Rules. Lastly but not least, Murphy's Law's of combat. Now with that said. Two equally skilled pilots in ACM one in the Harrier the other in the Hornet. The Hornet will win that fight.
  23. Again. I am not knocking the Harrier but even that pilot said he would usually defeat inexperienced Hornet pilots in 1 v 1.
  24. I have found that 140-160 is my rotate speed depending on my load. If I am heavy it is usually 160. If I am light it's 140. And I am wheels off the ground at 180-190kts in most cases.
  25. Funny I haven't had an issue with them going long. As long as I am in the correct perimeters on drop they are usually pretty close to the top of the predicted impact point. But this is just my experience.
