Who uses autostart on the Mirage? It takes 6-8 minutes to start the aircraft with alignment.
-
Not just Aim-120s. Aim-54s R-77s. And the SD-10 All have the same issue.
-
Yep my typical flight in the 29 is take off with afterburner then throttle back to full mil power till I hit 500km/h then start a climb at 40m/s roughly and take my time to 9km alt and then throttle back to 80-85% and cruise forever.

The A-4E Skyhawk was used as an aggressor fighter by TOP GUN and well it was no fighter. This doesn't mean that in a real world fight or in a DCS "real world" fight that it is a fighter or a good fighter or even a mediocre fighter. The same goes for the AV8B NA. I have the module I like it and I have used it for air to air. But it is NO fighter. It hemorrhages energy in a turn fight, one circle or two circle. It has horrible low speed and high angle of attack handling. It has a pretty poor sustained turn rate when compared to true fighters like the Hornet or Falcon. It is like comparing the IL-2 to a bf-109F4.

I never forget the basics. The Art of War -Sun Tzu. Dicta Boelcke - Oswald Boelcke. And Malan's Rules. Lastly but not least, Murphy's Law's of combat. Now with that said. Two equally skilled pilots in ACM one in the Harrier the other in the Hornet. The Hornet will win that fight.
-
Again. I am not knocking the Harrier but even that pilot said he would usually defeat inexperienced Hornet pilots in 1 v 1.

I have found that 140-160 is my rotate speed depending on my load. If I am heavy it is usually 160. If I am light it's 140. And I am wheels off the ground at 180-190kts in most cases.
-
Funny I haven't had an issue with them going long. As long as I am in the correct perimeters on drop they are usually pretty close to the top of the predicted impact point. But this is just my experience.

You can use it for DEAD and SEAD. I do it on occasion but I don't suggest it for the faint of heart or rookie Mirage pilot. Because you will be flying low... Like 10-20ft off the ground low. You won't have a handy air to ground mode for your radar. You won't have a TPOD to cheat with.. no cool icons for hitting ground targets. Just some old fashioned dropping dumb bombs on soon to be dead heads. It is a fun aircraft, but if RAZBAM ever fixes the fire control issue where you should not be able to mix your weapons loads... It will make a lot of people upset. The 2000C can be armed with magics and 530Ds or magics and SE bombs or BLG-66, or mk82s or GBUs with buddy lase or JTAC lase support or rockets... Not and... It is OR.

Yeah 79-82 depending on speed of the carrier and the weather. I have landed the Harrier with a tailwind and I had to set it to 84 deg to stay with the carrier... That was fun.

It can only challenge a Hornet if the Hornet has managed to get to close and the pilot forgot his autopilot was still on and went afk. Sorry but the Harrier as good as it is, is no match for the Hornet, Falcon, 21, Eagle, Fulcrum, Flanker, Thunder or Mirage. There is a reason why it is designated the AV8B and not F/AV-8B. In BVR it is useless, in ACM it hemorrhages energy, it has pretty poor sustained turn rate and it's limited gun with the even further limitations of the AIM-9M. Even using "stoopid Harrier tricks" it can't pull off much more than the surprise one in ten win against any dedicated fighter or multi-role fighter built after 1965. I have managed air to air kills with the Harrier but nothing I would dare say was because the plane.

It is within the minimum range. It is the same if you drop a laser guided bomb or fire a laser maverick to close. It won't track at all. Usually engage withe the rockets out beyond 2.7km. I prefer a 4km minimum personally because I use them to take out ZSU and AAA emplacements.
-
Hmm interesting. I would consider this seeing as I know how to do all of those things in the Mirage. And I have done those things in the Harrier. Never messed with the 19 but it can't be that complicated.

[WIP] Weapon G limits and pylons testing, strange results
Hodo replied to SlipHavoc's topic in Bugs and Problems
The 701s require the FCS to be set to AG1. It is a bit of a pain. I will double check tonight. -
It's easy when it's a passion. I was the same way at one time about tanks. Mostly specializing in Western and Russian armored vehicles.

Yes true... Granted I have played online with a semi-compitent GCI. Or to be more honest a very good GCI. And they had my Mirage anywhere it was needed. I can only imagine how well it would have worked with a MiG of Su. The Bison sorry my auto-correct on my phone does that when I type fast and don't catch it. But I do like the name Bison for the 21... It just works because it is almost everything but a Bison.
-
The last one I have felt that way for a while. Flown the Mirage 2000C for a long time. And found the 82SE and BLG-66 to be my weapon of choice. And I have really enjoyed the Rook-A model. I did some "SEAD" work with it... Talk about hard work. Try spotting a radar before it locks and fires on you is well fun. And the Rook can take a beating. I have belly landed that aircraft more times than I can count due to hydrolic damage.

English may not be everyone's first language. Just a tip.

So why not the AH-1 Cobra? We have the model in game sure it's a low fidelity model. But it is already there. I would love to see it available in game. It is is and was a staple in attack helicopter support since the 1970s. It is perhaps one of the original attack helicopters in the world, and it is a complete crime against humanity to not have this prolific helicopter in game.
-
I would like to see earlier AH-64s than the longbow. Like the A model... That leaked when it rained and didn't handle humidity well... Basically more 80s model aircraft.
-
Yes please!!! With the possibility of the F4 vs Mig-21. Or even Bf-109 over germany. So many options.

I haven't done that mission but I have taken out S-300 sites by coming in at 100ft agl or less as fast as possible with mk82SEs. Find the radar pop up to 500ft and drop while going as fast as possible. Pop flares and get back in the weeds and run away. I can usually pull it off 2 out of 3 times in a Hornet and 3 out of 4 in a Mirage or Harrier. The Harrier is a bit easier. I use AGM-122s on my pop up and then switch to the SEs right after firing those sidearms. Release the bombs drop back low popping flares and weaving a bit... But keeping my speed as high as possible. Loads of fun.

I have found the clusters discharge at the SPI when used in CCRP. It is best to set it a little further than where you expect. Like if you are wanting to hit a line of 5 vehicles. Set the SPI near the front, I like the second or third vehicle. Make sure you are going between 450-600kts. I prefer 500+/- 20kts. From about 5-10kft agl. But honestly it is far more accurate to just use CCIP for mk20s.

So I have recently decided to use the Rook A for a month online to get to know it. And well I have run into some issues. 1- the HUD glass does not slide up and down? I have tried the default keys and remapping them. The ASP glass elevate and lower does not work. It just slides it up a few millimeters at best and down a few. 2- the compass is WAY off... Something like 20-25deg, is this true magnetic? 3- Navigation system is a bit of vacuum tube wizardry that I have no clue how that works... No matter how many times I watch tutorials on it. So any advice on what I could be doing wrong if others can confirm the issues I have run into that would be great, thank you.
