  1. Oh well, someone will just have to reverse engineer it...
  2. Guess that settles it then.
  3. Have you tried it on a different computer? That way you can rule out if the problem lies with your computer recognizing the device or if it is in the hotas.
  4. Excuse me? I wasn't saying his idea wasn't completely valid, I have already mentioned this exact idea previously. And I was being completely serious as well, no sarcasm intended. Did you see any winks? If you don't like the idea just say so but don't go insulting me for it.
  5. Here's a great idea, why not add a pistol and a knife for the ejected pilot, self protection is important, especially behind enemy lines. This would be so easy to do, and you could take pot shots at enemy vehicles and become partof the ground war. Baby steps right?
  6. My guess is this problem has something to do with windows installing it's own drivers for a hid device and that device Id is no longer recognisable by the system. This happened to me with the logitech g940. I would plug it in and windows recognized it and installed default hid drivers, but it was not usable at all, and the device reaimned inactive. After a complete reformat of my pc I could install it correctly. Whoever said to tinker around with the registy for hid devices I think is on the right track, however be careful. Good luck people, I know how you feel, it wears you down just thinking about it.
  7. I'm not sure exactly what the corner speed for the f-15, the manual mentions for a sustained turn (that is one where airspeed remains the same with maximum continuous turn rate) airspeed can be anywhere from 600-1000km/hr, not sure how many kts that is. Just make sure you apply thrust when in the turn and don't let your airspeed drop too low. Are you also trying to beam these missiles, as you might have some luck there depending on the range of the missile from launch? I can't say I rely much on barrel rolling for missile evasion.
  8. Answer 1: no, ils only works from the end of the runway at which you are supposed to approach from. Typically you approach in the same direction that you took off from, so if you take off to the north, you must approach from the southern end. If you don't approach from the correct end you will not get any ils bars. Like I said, there is usually 2 ils waypoints, the first which sends you back behind the runway to line you up for approach, and the second which will display the ils bars once you get there. Answer 2: as far as I know ils is at all airports.
  9. Wikipedia: "The center of mass or mass center is the mean location of all the mass in a system." Mean location refers to the mean distribution of mass. This is pure semantics you are arguing over. The centre of gravity directly represents how the mass is distributed in a body.
  10. I remember in fc1.12 in the a-10 campaign, after completing the mission and following the waypoints back to base, once you reach the last waypoint (which is usually a few km down the takeoff side of the runway) you then get the first ils waypoint, which takes you over the runway and out to sea for about 5-10km, and following the heading you then intercept the final waypoint, which then gets you to pull a 180, once you are fairly lined up with the runway the ils bars then appear on the HUD, and you get the call from the tower to either climb or descend to follow the glideslope. What you say about using the comms menu's will get you to the ils marker, he will tell you to follow a certain heading for a certain distance, but I never rely on this because sometimes he just sends you in circles. Bottom line is if you follow the waypoints correctly all the way back to final, you will get ils indication, atleast in fc1.12. You shouldn't need to request heading to runway from the tower. Try a plain mission if you can manage to survive it and you will see this.
  11. Lol, cg, mass distribution, same thing, or were you trying to be funny?
  12. Sounds like you may not have intercepted the ils waypoint, as once you do this you wil get HUD ils indicators but if you don't all you get is markers directing you to the waypoint. Are you lined up with the runway at this stage? If not you won't see anything. Just follow the waypoints back to the runway (if you have set it up correctly, did you add a land waypoint?) and you should see the bars. I'm not sure what you will see in fc2 tho, I'm playing fc1.12, and as Tharos says it may have been removed from the HUD in fc2.
  13. Yeah I will be happy with the next dcs as long as it comes with a cup holder and a mirror to check my makeup. ;)
  14. If you press the 1 key to get into nav mode again, it will switch to Ils mode, then you have to intercept the localizer and the glideslope and localizer should appear on the HUD. Or when you intercept the final waypoint the ils should appear automatically and you will hear the tower talking.
  15. Oh crap, missile launched, quickly go defensive, beam and pop some countermeasures!
  16. So your saying it was working fine at one point? That makes me think it might be some kind of setting, maybe a lua exporting too much. Have you tried a fresh install of fc2 yet? Also, you really shouldn't need 102 processes running, I have like 30 max. Turn off any antivirus apps or things you don't need while summing which is basically everything(almost).
  17. My suggestion is to just get comfortable enought flying normally in all conditions, and pick yourself up a copy of fc2 to get a feel for a SFM if your still having difficulties. Also, don't think so much about it, just focus on getting down in one piece and it will come to you eventually. once you have assimilated that muscle memory into your subconscious you will have no troubles. I'm sure your just overthinking it.
  18. Just don't go launching any mav's on anyone.:smilewink:
  19. Do a ctrl-alt-delete and look at the CPU usage in task manager, also check to see how much memory lockon is using. Thirdly, go to the logs folder and check the error log to see if anything out of the ordinary is happening. Have you messed with lua's or anything, like using a virtual panel? Just some thoughts.
  20. How high exactly are you when the performance is sluggish? The higher up you are the harder it will be to perform maneuvers due to the air being thinner, which means less air flowing around the wing to give you lift for rolls and climbs.
  21. Yeah, I've said it before, combine the kinect with a decent stereoscopic HMD (head mounted display) with decent FOV, and you may as well be in the cockpit cos that's what it will feel like. Imagine that in DCS a10, this would basically be the VR dream.
  22. You would be right in that assertion that it was an intentional inclusion. What I don't get is why it was even put in on non ffb axes. I completely understand your pessimism about the next software release. I'm not saying things will be significantly better, but to me on the reversal bug front we should be in luck it seems. I agree that the software itself is lacking as far as programmability, and I would still like to see native led programming, but well just have to wait and see.
  23. At any rate, a change in throttle will require a change in pitch and vice versa. One should practice using them in tandem as if they are part of the one control: increasing throttle bri g's the nose up, and bringing the nose up decreases airspeed.
  24. New update from Charles: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/G940-quot-reversal-bug-quot-is-it-a-hardware-or-software-problem/m-p/519745#M6692 highlights are: - Reversal bug can be fully removed, but engineer left slight amount to counteract ffb jerkiness - will be available for testing for US users, contact Charles via the thread. Sounds pretty good.
  25. Yeah apparently they have now completed the working environment where the logitech team will fix the firmware, complete with bouncy floors, Velcro walls and ceilings, bean bag seats, lazyboy work seats, and a team mascot, 'leon the logitech lemour'. Someone needs to boot them up the butt and tell them to get a move on.
