  1. Great setup! How do you find the distance of the g940 stick from your hands, do you have to stretch at all?
  2. FYI I just picked up trackir 5, no trackclip pro, for $160US delivered to Aus. About the cheapest I've seen it.
  3. Sickdog, IWarthog has turned out to be a superb app for us hog pilots. Thanks for all your effort and hard work you put into this.
  4. Great news Sickdog! I look forward to it.
  5. Yes they can, but you will have to go cross-eyed to view it without 3d glasses.
  6. IMO it would be nice to adjust your aircraft loadout in the GUI, like in FC1.12, except make it prettier and more user friendly.
  7. Same here, ED get $60 from me every year for as long as they can keep making the dcs series and whatever other flight sims they can come up with. It goes to show, if you let your customers know you care and want to make the most awesome product, the community will get behind you 100%.
  8. FYI, you can use modman to backup and restore almost any bs file. Very handy when you tweak something you shouldn't have.
  9. I agree tho, a fast mover needs to be next.
  10. Anyone have a link to those cockpit screenshots? I know it might be asking alot.
  11. I think it might still be released someday, I mean they modelled the ah-64 cockpits beautifully, it would be sad to let their hard work go. Maybe after the f-18c. :D
  12. I'm not a stereo 3d guru but I used it several years ago. Maybe the HDR options or self shadowed cockpit is interferring with the 3d. I know when I used it there was not a huge amount of comparability with post processing effects.
  13. Yes, I'm curious also, have you been able to submit the app to iTunes yet?
  14. Oh lord, can you imagine this online with nuggets just learning the ropes? Absolute chaos.:P
  15. You got the release version wrong, it's 1.1.0.8.
  16. Finally! Now we can close that other delay thread with the 30 pages of nothingness. Hope this one is kind to 32 bit systems.
  17. Well the reason I thought it might be a good idea is there seems to be alot of soldiers etc standing around completely still, gun in hand with a thousand yard stare, and i thought, why not give them something useful to do and give them battons instead of a gun. I know they can animate the soldiers because I saw they have a death animation, so I figure it might be possible to add in a few scripts and triggers to their ai and get something resembling a ground crew. Like if you are approaching a parking area with a guy there he will signal for you to park there, with the appropriate signals when you need to turn, slow, etc. I'm just guessing but I think it could be done, maybe even with DCS warthog.
  18. Yep, I've noticed this. I mean you can pull off a no, but not a yes to your wingman. A bit sad really. ;)
  19. Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but I think the addition of ground crews who give taxiing signals and can prep the AC would be cool. I'd love to see them signal for me to turn, chocks in/out, spool up etc. And at night if they had those illuminated signaling battons, it would add an even deeper level of immersion. You don't have to stop there either. You could request on the comms for ground crews to remove all pins before a flight, perform a walk around check, or inspect for damage after a sortie. Obviously it could become quite complex, so there would be a nice in between of realism and playability somewhere. At any rate, I would love to see ED try to pull off animations of signals, even have the crew member walk with you as you taxi. It would add an even deeper level of immersion to this already brilliant sim.
  20. I haven't seen this mentioned in here so I'll add something. I wanted to get the engine star commands to work by just moving the throttle forward to roughly idle position, and to shut down engines by pulling the throttle full back. I achieved this by mapping a zone command for each throttle and for the bottom 10% of travel, set this to the engine stop command, then set the next 15% to engine start command, for both left and right throttles. This works very nicely, and you can just bump the throttle forward slightly to start each engine. The only difficulty I find with this is you have to move the throttle past the start command zone or it will interfere with other binder commands, so I added a small scale on the left and right of the throttle base to help me determine if I'm in on, off, or regular travel. EDIT: hmm now I realise when I start the left engine it somehow interferes with operation of right engine starting. I figure it is that the L ENG START command is being held or repeated, thus not allowing the right engine to start. I tried binding the start zone commands to the shifted function, but the software is screwy and refuses to map it to shifted. Gona have to have a think. I previously had the start engines assigned to buttons on the throttle base but it really would be good to get this working.
  21. Totally agree! I think quite a few people want this, so I hope ED takes note. If it does happen it would probably be a country with a half decent air defence and air force, so that might count out afghanistahn, maybe it could be Libya or Iran.
  22. Well there is a good chance we are getting one of those fixed wing US fighters. As for the desert terrain, who is to say, but ED don't really seem inclined to Go anywhere that isn't green and watery, however they are releasing Nevada, so who knows, maybe they will get a bit of sand in their ears and decide they like it. :D
  23. It's no good, we'll have to an emergency c-section! Nurse, scalpal, STAT! ;)
  24. I can't imagine there would be a problem with the app if it is free. The app would supply users with information they already have access to just in a much more accessible and useful format, and information they have already paid for the use of. And users who haven't bought the sim would have no use for it since it would be accessible through the app store. Saying that, I hope ED might be kind enough to allow you a small compensation for your time and effort by allowing you to charge. It would keep the app alive and give you motivation to continue to update it. It would certainly aid any dcs user in their flight regeime, as checklists, airfield maps, and mission data are essential for any serious pilot wanting to complete their mission. I hope ED seriously considers this as it really would decrease pre mission preparation, and provide us with essential information that would typically be readily accessible in the cockpit. It will only aid their series to be more awesome.
  25. Yes, I'd drop a few dollars for it also, fingers crossed Ed doesn't want royalties or anything.
