  1. Big shout out for the new Sounds, and just had a blast on the Afghan map, zapping some technicals, got peppered with shrapnel, but landed at the nearest FOB, checked in over, NAAA that's nothing and transitted back to Bastion. It went like a rocket, and nap of the earth all the way.......not very safety concious there. Been a passenger on RAF Puma's, many years ago doing this, but that was great fun, THANK YOU
  2. Jonsky7, Thats a very workable solution for me, Thank you HI TKHaos. Thank you for the excellent explanation, that may be the way to go. Will read the blurb you have linked me too, and definately back up the LUA file. Will keep you posted, THANK YOU for your suggestion. I may be slow doing this got a hospital week coming up.
  3. Hi Jonsky 7 That sound's great will have a go at it later Thank you
  4. Hi BBall, In my RAF time I bumped into an absolute 'Babe' took her out twice and then proposed. The silly girl said yes.... So for the next 20 years I was always getting, "Did she have a guide dog? Does she have a white stick, and of course "How come someone as ugly as you managed to get a girl like that!" I just got so used to it. Oh and one of the best, "Did you get her from eastern bloc brides....." You have to get with the military sense of humour of course
  5. Hi Nineline, I wear glasses, I'm an RAF Pensioner and at 68 it's not going to get any better. Can I suggest a remedy for this. IMHO if we have a software fix to be able to select instrument information on the main flying screen, the same as we see in F2 view it would help a lot. Being selectable, us oldies/visually challenged, can put that in, and no other players are affected. There may be many reason's this is not possible, but I thought I'd ask. As I was told many times in the RAF, If you find an problem, then offer a solution, 9 times out of 10 the Grown ups will go along with it....then take the credit. LOL
  6. ShuRugal, Understand the sim is displaying correctly, no argument there. I was in on the initial induction of the CH-47 into the RAF....Oh so long ago, and it was like a swiss watch shop then in the front. But we could pass our eye tests then. HOWEVER, I'm now 68, a pensioner, & I need glasses. The numbers are too small to read. I don't have VR, so I can't adust things. Selling my Mrs off is no longer an option to get the funds for VR PC. Many times in H.M. Forces I was told, if you find a problem, and supply a plausible solution, 9 times out of 10....they will accept it. So could I ask for a software option, to add the instrument information available in F2 view, where the data is displayed along the bottom of the screen to become an option in the main screen for us of the optically challenged fraternity. Being an Option, It would be available to us who would fail the aircrew eye test, but who (happily) support the sim and no one else would notice Thank you.
  7. Apologies to all, I found the wrong item, realised it just as I hit the close button.... but could not get back on to correct myself & apologies
  8. Hi Timex 3, I googled CrazyEddie's aircraft title, and added DCS, came up with this annoucement. But of course no release date. This could be it https://www.helisimmer.com/news/coming-dcs-freeware-as350-ecureuil-as550-fennec-mod
  9. Hi Razo+r, Thanks for that, I'll keep them then.
  10. Hi Currenthill, There were 2 mods that caused the conflict, Fuchs Vehicle and an ww2 V1 .....don't you just love software!! All working now Thank you for assisting
  11. Ok, I re-inserted it again, its in Openbeta/Mods/tech....and the game crashed before I could press, open game. No problem. Re-named the Tech, Old_Tech, put ALL your MOD folders in and the game fires up, so now I'll just work through my files & folders to find the little sod that is messing things up, THANK YOU for your patience, I've got this Flyingscotsman
  12. Hi Currenthill, That's my time to depart, to keep the good looking one happy, Thank you for looking, I'll be back tomorrow and If I've sent the wrong info, I'll delete that log file and start again. I'm happy with the old stuff if neede, You'll never be hassled by me, I'm too old and ugly to bother people, you do fantastic work, See you tomorrow Flying scotsman
  13. Thank you for your patience, I think I inadvertantly called it old log, it's the only one with the right Date/time, here goes dcs.log.old
  14. Hi Currenthill, Thanks for that, no rush, it's Sunday evening, I'm going off soon, so I'll just await developments if any. dcs.20240814-201754.crash.7z
  15. Hi Currenthill, Something went wrong with my installation of Sweden 1.1.0. It's crashing out just as I get the new 'Open DCS' window I deleted the previous version. Installed the new version, as Copy & Paste. It crashed. Downloaded again and repeated the procedure, crashed again. I still have the original version, so no problem for me, just and FYI. The old version is good enough for me, FANTASTIC work as usual
  16. Like many Brits, I enjoyed...(a relative term) 3 months in Norway, and Bardufoss was the base we used to get home from at the end of it. My main time was at Voss, before we went up into the artic circle....No idea where we were when we were up there, we just drove for Hours. Parked up and started the Exercise again, but from Tents.... "Never be the radioman on duty, when the tents go up....you get the door". Sound advice I was given prior to the exercise, & sure enough it was my shift on the radio......He was right!
  17. Hi Razo+r, Thanks for replying, sorry not replied earlier, I lost track of this post Thank you
  18. With greatful thanks from the uk.....MOD was never THIS FAST!
  19. With the lack of any real armour for the driver, it's a real incentive to follow the gunners instructions....if his hearing is not totally impaired by the gun! I recall seeing a 'Technical' in Rhodesia, Basicly a round barrel on the back of a pickup. The gunner sat in the middle, protected Barrel and on the oustside were the 'motor's, actually to guys who held onto a steel bar that encircled the barrel. It was explained to me, that it was very accurate, as the 'motor's' had the incentive to get their gunner on target asap. So glad the British Forces did not adopt this method....
  20. Advice pls. I have my Saved Games Folder, and it has the following folders DCS.Openbeta - Where all the game files are listed, But below this are the following folders: DCS_AJS37, contains , 5 autogenerated files DCS_F4E, contains Folders marked, Cach, Jester, recorders DCS_OH58D, contains a config icon Should I have them elsewhere or are they surplus? I could'nt thing where else to ask this quesiton. Thank you
  21. Hi I have a HOTAS and use the right thrust lever, with reverse axis as a collective, (Thrust lever in CH-47F). When trying to taxi I get no forward movement, it just starts to lift off. Even gently slowly, nothing. I tried moving the cyclic forward or backwards, no forward or backwards movement, it wants to nose over or lift up backwards. The brakes are OFF, so it's not that. What am I doing wrong? Found it, the brakes axis is reversed, I thought as the brakes releasesd the hand brake when pressed, all was well. But then noticed the press of the pedal, got me the reverse action in the visuals. Apologies, but hope this helps someone
  22. They did, kinda, They put a flood/dam defence board in the back near the ramp, (Like you see on doorways, where the poor sods get flooded often) Been flooded twice, it's not joke. I would bet the aircraft has to have more air in the tanks than fuel, and then it can hover/taxi/swim as required. Don't think it's been used much except by the waterborne infantry who could emabark/debark in rubber boats, but the Chinook is not exactly quiet on approach.....better to hoof it overland and do without the big giveaway, (IMHO). We used to say, you could get the kettle on, have a brew (Brits BTW, so that's Tea)and then set up the machine guns to repell that "surprise assault!"
  23. Horitel, You were the closest, I found another post on a differnet forum about MFG's and they suggested, "Unplug the brake cables and hoover out any dust." worth a Try. So at this point, neither pedal is seen in the CH-47F, but both working on the AH-64 and others....grrrr. I also removed all MODS, No change Did a DCS Repair and Cleanup, no change Unplugged/replugged the MFG's and did a manual calibration. Noticed that the RAW numbers fluctuated even when no feet on pedals, so something is stopping full equilibrium. Unplugged brake cables, they pull out by hand. Hoovered the compartment and firmly inserted the connecters. Automatic calibration, still had some numbers flickering, but MUCH less. Manual Calibration, set them to ZERO and the LEFT brake was working in the CH-47F, so bind that to both brakes....SORTED Thanks to all who responded. Milan, to his credit now has cables that can be replaced, without soldering, So when that other one packs in, I'll be sending for it. But this solution works for me Happy flying everyone
  24. Hello All, Thanks for replying, I've not touched my pedals since getting them in about 2018. I can see the values look odd, X is 4500 and Y is 7600 (say) but they work on some DCS aircraft and not others. Have the same problem with MSFS, seems wierd. I'll get them out from under the sim and check the tightness of everything and re-calibrate as you advised. That'll not be until later today. Thank you
  25. I have found in the past that some modules recognise the brake pedals, some don't They ALL recognise the Rudder axis So, I have A-10C ii, & AH-64D, brake pedals are recongnised in the axis command But nothing happens in the CH-47F. Brakes working with other sims, i.e. PMDG 777 etc in MSFS2020 Any ideas? Thanks in advance
