  1. Ah, have to get some Avpin to spray around the room, when this comes out. I remember the smell of it at RAF Leuchars on the air days, 74 SQN Lightnings, The Flying Tigers! Showing my age! Break a leg!
  2. Theres an NH-90 on Turbosquid https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-model/nhindustries $204. perhaps it could be crowdfunded if anyone knows how to do that, IF Currenthill was willing/able to do it. I'd chip in $20, but I've no idea how to set all that up. Of course we'd have to ask Currenthill first.
  3. Correction, the manouvre caused by what they called a 'mast bump' which chopped the tail off, I can see that being likely if you, say, push the stick forward or backwards really hard. It was on a Utube video sadly & then I read there had been a spate of these. Hence "There are old pilots and bold pilots, there are no old bold Pilots"
  4. Ref almost any kind of Barrel Roll in the Gazelle, the one thing I recall was how light and 'flimsy' it was, you could pick it up by the tail, on wet grass and turn it. The floppy blades would probably depart in all directions about 1/2 way round, turning that into a terminal dive. I recall there were a few deaths in small helo's in the USA over the past years because someone had said you could do a negative g manouver, but it was hard to recover from. Some instructors went out and tried it with the students, the blades were found to have bent and touched, just before the helo's disintergrated and the FAA had to step in and say the manouver was not safe.

  8. Regarding S342 FM, I changed my binding in the Options, Controls Icon on the home screen of DCS. That sorted out a lot of my problems, so I thought, what about the other helicopters? I've always changed controls in the game, ESC, adjust Controls..... Mistake really, I then when through all my Helo's and re-bound the controls. They ALL gave me better control after that. Proves we are always learning and if you've never done it before, I suggest you try it.

  10. realDCSpilot & grim_reaper68, RESULT, did the repair and clean up. Learned about bindings, and reset everything, still rolling right, but got away 2nd attempt without almost any wild gyrations, landing was....err,,,hard, but the body was intact, so that's a landing innit! Loads to learn, again, THANK YOU

Have been all over the place with curves and they made no difference, and that made no sense. So that you again THANK YOU Sir's
  12. Hi, Been using the Gazelle since day it was released, have had some minor problems with control, most of my own making. However, since the update last week I'm totally out of control Using Hotas joystick, with throttle, using throttle as collective, right side, Throttle left side. It has always kinda 'leapt' into the air, and a couple of weeks back it was not so jumpy, great. But the last update happened, I only have to move the collective a few millimeters and I'm 20 feet up, not only that, it is oscillating wildly like a pendulum, I can get it level with right rudder for a few seconds but any movement of the joystick and the oscillation get worse, I've just had my first inverted few seconds before I exploded into the tarmac. Joystic has x/y deadzone 4 and slider at 10, thats worked fine as I previously mentioned.....can we put this back to the previous settings? Flew in the Gazelle in Northern Ireland a few times, as talking freight, really enjoyed it, it was much faster than the Scout...showing my age.

Just had to re-install windows when putting an new 4tb hdd in. so cannot access working exe files, Natural point website is not accessible at the moment on pc/google/ or bing, or even iphone, I get a 'site not accessible etc.' Would any kind soul have an .exe file for the uk, or link that works, would be appreciated, acres of re-installation to do, be nice to have that working Thanks in advance

  16. Glad to see it has caused confusion, i.e. It's not just me getting senile, I found Throttle Button 15 (RED) works for me, and my long fingers, Pusfh Red&Castle up - release, both buttons - Castle up....and it worked!
  17. Hi GrEaSeLiTeNiN, You did it! The penny dropped. I've just gone back to Adjust Controls, Modifiers and then, Left side, where Crtl etc are, ADD scroll down to my Throttle, and pressed button 15, red button. Allocated it, then cleared out the entry in Adjust Controls and put the new, button3 & Castle up. Opened the F-15E , Made sure I'm NOT in AA mode and it worked! THANK YOU. Its when you said are you using modifiers, it made me think what had I NOT tried.

Hi GrEaSeLiTeNiN, I went to 'MODIFIERS' in the Control Options, on the left are the Crtl, Shift etc, on the right I selected add, it showed Keyboard, and when I selected further down, it showed the name of my Joystick and Throttle, I selected the Joystick, and paddle key, it showed the button number 4- and I accepted it. However, once I used that combination, I noticed in the Adjust Controls, that once the combination was pressed(, button 4&castle up) it would not then respond to castle up. Even with moving the castle to other directions, castle up, would not select. I too had throttle slew button as the modifier, but want the button for something else. I just find it odd, and slightly unlikely that the HOTAS is broken in all the buttons I tested. I tried red button on the throttle, buttons 5,3,4 My way round it was to delete the buttons from the right side, and use the Left Crtl on the keyboard. Not 'realistic' but works for me.   19. Raven434th, Thanks for starting this thread, and all of you who have helped me understand/get to/find fault with the castle switch. I could NOT work out what was going on and wierd MFD Working...then not working etc. I have a HOTAS Warthog, f-16c stick. NO button press on castle. I tried a wonderful 'pre-made' set of controlls/modifiers and got it to work...partially. I now have my modifier as LCRTL, first thing on the keyboard within easy reach, and it works now for moving the castle about in all BUT AA. The fault I seem to have, is if I make the modifier one of the buttons, i.e. Throttle button 15(RED BUTTON) or Joystick 4 Paddle, it confuses the system. If I use a button and press, say, 15 & Castle up, then that's it locked, I cannot get castle up to react!. (I can prove that by going to Adjust controls and press the sequences, once that Modify -Castle up is used, it stops castle up respoinding, I can move any of the left, right, down...but can't go up. Could anyone confirm this behaviour? My wife has already said, just buy another Hotas.....I don't think that's the best answer. In any case I have it working, but would appreciate if anyone can replicate the problem Thank you to all here, you helped me get to a working system that I understand better.
  20. Cougar MFD's partially working. I used adjust controls and found the Left & Right MPD section buttons 1-20. I dutifully added each button and they respond in the Adjust Control section. I also added, screen brightness left and right. Only the screen brightness assignments work? Any advice please?
  21. Not sure if this is right place to ask, I managed to get the frequency into the radio, TEL NOF Twr, and ask for permission to taxi, I only got a TEXT Permission to taxi, no voice. Anyone else get that?
  22. I also found that a free download of the F-15E Flyable MOD screws up the front to back seat configuration too. Deleted that.
  23. Rudel_chw, RESULT! I changed the aircraft config to 'equally responsible' confirmed 2 crew on board, press 2,and YAY back seat. Must be the only one I had not tried. THANK YOU for your assistance.....now I got a lot of learning to do. FYI I had dealings with RAF Lakenheath and the ACMI range over the North Sea, The RAF provided comms support and we did regular check and changes over at Lakenheath from RAF Honington nearby. The range was run by ex RAF aircrew and they had some excellent debriefs, fascinating to sit in on. There were more than a few kill's claimed by new RAF crews, that the gods eye view replay soon 'shot to bits'. In the main the USAF guys knew you could not beat the system and had a greater number of 'I almost got him' claims. Happy days

  25. Also done a repair and cleanup, still unable to access WSO cockpit with current set up, or to allocate a spare switch to it. The control adjust says populated, but nothing happens. Log file attached if someone could take a look please dcs.zip
