  1. @22 sec, looks like two bullets collide! Damn!
  2. Last I heard (from paulrkii aka snoopy aka a dude who would know) the pods are actually being removed for just that reason... Slowly of course :D
  3. I'm not in front of the PC right now, so bear with me... Look in the main directory of your BETA 2 install for a folder called "theaters of war" There should be a subfolder inside called "Nevada" A simple copy paste job of the nevada folder into the theaters of war folder in whatever version you're running and should do it. ...remember, to load up Nevada you have to open the mission editor and create a new mission. That's when you get the option to chose your theater. Works wonderfully in DCS world atm
  4. ...they can to some extent. If you try placing ground units (with off-road waypoints) in the vicinity of a town/city they tend to get very confused
  5. Just want to chime in and say: DO IT DETROIT DIESEL!!!!!
  6. API, at least the PGU-14 fired by the a GAU8 has no HEI content... It's a regular 30mm projo with a sub-caliber depleted uranium penetrator. DU is phyrophoric, so it can light things on fire and sends out a lot of sparks when hitting hardened objects, but there is no explosive
  7. you sound like my wife! What, you're afraid I wont trust the info you found on yahoo answers? Let's see a source, I can't find one that's trustworthy, and I'm genuinely interested
  8. Done, and I restate my question :D Can I see your source?
  9. Did you make that up? :D
  10. Likewise :)
  11. Fair enough. My point is that it might take only $1500 worth of CM to kill that same tank. In this economy that's a good deal ;)
  12. Worth noting that IRL I would imagine the HEI rounds would be useful for destroying sensors and other sensitive equipment on tanks. Also, for the record, you can kill a t-80 in the sim with just HEI :D not very cost effective when you consider that a full load of PGU-13 costs around $20,000...and it takes a full load, at least
  13. You can't select just API rounds. Combat mix is 4 API to 1 HEI, so it's already mostly armor piercing... Maybe there is a lua file you can edit to modify the loadout
  14. ...There isn't a function like this available in the files :D
  15. Time for me to make a donation! :greedy:
  16. :badmood::badmood::badmood: Party pooper :D On a serious note, on the subject of selectable fusing/frag effects; That'll be the day!
  17. Agreed, I've always wanted to see this implemented for a10. It's one of the first things real world a10 pilots mention when asked about the gun. *I'm really bad at math*... assuming 3,900 rounds per minute, the a10 should vibrate at about 65 hertz. Doesn't the a10 in lock on vibrate when you fire the gun?
  18. +1
  19. The A10 was designed to fly with half a wing missing... Not saying that makes the behavior you mentioned correct, I really don't know enough to say, but interesting fact none the less
  20. Good question. Not a clue I'm afraid... My technospeak is weak. As with most things in life, you will be able to find things to complain about if you're so inclined... I for one think that life is too short for such wasted energy:thumbup: plus, DCS a10c is about as cool as software gets. No avoiding that. I think most folks around here would agree that the learning process is very rewarding. *cue old hippie inflection* "It's like, about the journey...man";)
  21. I'm initially tempted to say "of course not! how dare you sir!":D ...but on second thought, I suppose landing an a10 on a carrier while using the gun as a speed brake is pretty screwy.
  22. This video? The issue you describe a "clipping" is because the host/client (the host made the video in this case) sync is a little off. The carrier pitches up and down, and the host see's all clients as static, hence the clipping. For those of us flying as clients, only the host appeared to clip IIRC. I think the video, I'm the dude with the blue smoke BTW, shows just how wonderful and fun the sim can be! Plenty of room for "simulating" and plenty more for just having fun! :) But don't worry, the a10 has no place on a carrier deck, or any other ship for that matter and AFAIK this is the only area where this syncing issue is apparent... You won't see this on the ground. Buy it!
  23. @213 In your mind, perhaps :D In reality, not all armored kills are catastrophic, even those involving fire
