  1. I'ce searched for "FLIR" textures inside the game, they don't seem to exist. I'm pretty sure the game generates a regular color image for the TGP, then filters/processes the image on the fly. I admittedly have no idea what I'm talking about here ;). I, however, suspect this is true because you will see a quick flash of regular "color" image on the TGP when you select it.
  2. George Carlin is rofl...in his grave!
  3. Why worry about picking the right one? Get all three!
  4. Don't know if this helps, but... In the options menu you can select lat/long or MGRS for the map view. In the cockpit you can quickly toggle the two on the TGP page (OSB 8 I think) and thee TAD page (OSB 8 once again, I think)
  5. Nice job!
  6. Lol, reminds me of George Carlin. *shouldn't a near miss be called a near hit. If you nearly miss something, you've still hit it. Right? :) *you don't take a sh&t, you (hopefully) leave a sh&t
  7. She's just pissed because she doesn't get enough stick time...
  8. http://www.metavr.com/casestudies/jtac.html Fun read, maybe not as far away as we think
  9. Yes, if I'm understanding you. Look for the NVG gain up/down commands. Can't remember the keyboard commands off hand
  10. Set up a trigger that sets a flag as true when the radar is destroyed. Than add a condition to the explode unit trigger that checks if that flag is true or false. Hope that makes sense/works ;) double sniped! lol
  11. You can add an explode unit trigger in the ME (you can change the volume of the explosion so it looks massive) with a condition of "unit damaged/dead" I like to place one or two random enemy trucks laden with explosives :D in my missions. Don't get to close for those strafings runs. Reminds me of a lot of those great WWII ground attack guncams where the pilot scores a lucky hit... And BOOM!
  12. "crazy flying telephone pole catcher guy" YGBSM!!!!
  13. Combined arms+DCS A10c+DCS next+FC3= GOTY 2012 (?) just sayin :D
  14. I think it's a heck of a lot easier with the TAD than with the CDU. Here an example of the process. 1. TAD as SOI 2. Slew TAD cursor over map object (markpoints, red triangles etc.) 3. TMS up short to hook (you should see the dashed yellow line appear) 4. Press OSB 17 on the TAD Done!
  15. That's the idea! :D
  16. I like to use the HOOK CURS option in the TAD (with the bullseye hooked). You will be presented with bullseyes info (lower right of the TAD) for the position of the TAD cursor. The advantage is that you don't need a TAD object to reference (except for the bullseye). That's the quickest way I've been able to figure out. A lot of good sugestions in this thread!
  17. If you hook something (or just hover the TAD cursor over a TAD object(I think)) you will notice a question mark by OSB 17. Pressing this OSB will "copy" that TAD object and create a new mission waypoint at it's location. You can also enter mark points directly into the FPM page in the CDU, and turn them into waypoints that way check out page 311 of the flight manual for more info on the TAD copy function
  18. I'm in, PM sent
  19. My vote went to minecraft... For obvious reasons (clearly a more thorough simulation) ;) Cheers ED! Well played! EDIT: ^^^THAT WAS A JOKE...
  20. Placing the JTAC so he has a direct line of sight to the target should do it. You might want to make him invisible or immortal though, they tend to not last long with direct line of sight
  21. You can also just delete the "player"aircraft from the mission (the one you used the prepare mission function on) and create a new Player slot. Should be an easy fix. The prepare mission function is only really effective if it is the LAST thing you do when making a mission. Otherwise it tends to screw things up
  22. You should check out some of the excellent airfield diagrams that other users have made. Also, the Divert page in the CDU will give you airfield info. So will the f10 map for that matter
  23. I'm using a 47" Vizio HDTV as a monitor, Vsync is a MUST for my rig. I'm *pretty* sure the Hz rating of your T.V. will be the deciding factor
  24. So your saying that if I break out a nice bottle of red and put on some Sade... I'm good to go? :smoke::clown_2: ....Sade is the only flying music for me!
  25. Indeed! Pass the eggnog...
