  1. Check that the names of the files exactly match those on EDs website (the (3) in there dosen't sound right to me) You probably have existing files on your comp with those names, so windows is adding a "(1),(2)..."to the files names. It should work if you rename the files
  2. Had this issue once with my x52, and once with my TM warthog (after connecting saitek rudder pedals) As mentioned above, I would clear the axis commands for your joystick and reassign them. Make sure you don't have any erroneous imputs (there is a keyboard command [sorry, don't know it off the top of my head] that allows you to see what buttons and axis you are using as you fly) The plane should fly very smoothly, hope this helps
  3. This is not Vietnam rusty, there are rules...
  4. Use the ground stabilize command (TMS down short) like it was your job. It will save you a ton of headaches with the mavs
  5. TMS right short will drop a mark point, depending on SOI and SPOI (TAD, TGP, etc.) You can quickly access these mark points by pressing the "func" key on your UFC, then hitting the number "8"(secondary function is mark). You can then cycle your mark points (with the HUD as SOI) by pressing DMS up or down.
  6. Go to controls menu/axis assign/zoom axis(I think thats what it's labeled)/click in the HOTAS throttle section (you may have to add the axis)/move the friction lever and presto. ...sniped again, man I type slow
  7. A whole lot less fidelity in the modeled systems, i.e. to use weapons in DCS one might expect to memorize 10+ steps. In FC2 it'd be more like 2 steps. Still a great game, I highly recommend it, plus it's cheap compared to DCS :D
  8. Thanks for the heads up, and the excellent contribution
  9. Nice work, looking forward to getting back from vacation to enjoy this one
  10. Thanks fellas, great info
  11. Yeah... I haven't encountered any issues just using a lot of waypoints, except how messy things start to look in the ME
  12. as far as I know waypoints are the only way to go check out this tutorial; He is using triggers to activate units when he reaches a certain area. This way you won't need so many waypoints. That technique has helped me to create several missions with a lot of moving infantry. also check this out for triggering infantry (or any other ground unit) movement. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1082599&postcount=3
  13. Please forgive my lack of knowledge here, Can some one give me a basic overview of what Modman is and how to use it/ where to get it? Ricardo, the textures are stunning, THANK YOU
  14. not yet, but it will be available as a DVD. you might have to wait a month or two though
  15. I'm with you. Although I'm sure those SAT images are somewhere in your a10c directory, it would probably be difficult to assemble them into a printable format The satellite style image for the editor is on the wish list, I'd bet that ED will get to it eventully (It has been mentioned a lot)
  16. couldn't have said it better myself, On the subject of sales; forget about dropping the price, instead focus on advertising. I know I'm speaking for myself here but I really had to find this game. Get a little footage of this on TV and presto, boosted sales.
  17. Good question and here's my quasi helpful answer ;) The fighter collection sells the "tactical map" which is available on amazon. I don't think its a satellite style image unfortunately. Hopefully someone a little more informed can point us in the right direction
  18. By default auto lase is now turned off. You can adjust that setting in your DSMS, or you can manually lase using the NOSE WHEEL STEERING BUTTON. EDIT: sniped, headshot... BTW, great name topper harley. Do you often coat your hands in caramel and gummy bears before flying? :megalol:
  19. Not sure I'm understanding you correctly, TMS up short will switch the pods "mode" from area to point. Point is generally used for tracking a moving object, I believe that it locks onto image contrast in a similar way as the maverick. Employing weapons for a point/area effect is something entirely different and is unrelated to the terminology of the pod. As far as I know none of the weapons used require the pod to be in either mode.
  20. I havn't tested this in the relese version, but in beta 4 the res of cockpit displays had an enormous effect on the clarity of the display. There is a post around here somewhere with some side by side shots, the difference from 256 to 1024 was huge! If you're really into realism you can research the actual res of MFCDs used in the a10, IIRC its 500ish. That way you're "hardcore" and you perhaps get a few frames out of the bargain too:D
  21. another option would be to set you CMS to MAN, select program "J" (1 flare, 0 chaff) and just hit CMS forward 3 times.
  22. yup. Although I'm not sure if there's a lot of new content, please correct me if I'm wrong, it seems to have been throughly cleaned up and edited. P.S. get the sim ASAP! Without the sim I could se the manual being quite a dry read:book:
  23. turn on labels...or patiently and methodically search the waypoints in your target area. They're bound to start shooting at you eventually. the latter being far more satisfying
  24. There is a focus for the flir, DMS right short with TGP as SOI(maybe DMS left...:)). But I'm guessing you need to adjust your "resolution of cockpit displays" in the options menu to full resolution (1024)
  25. It's not much, but you can pick up a few things from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke2ZEIiSmHU we might have to join the air force to get much further...
