+1... to the sat view in the editor that is

At the risk of sounding like a jerk: There's only one way to find out! I havn't had any issues with my own missions, but I tend to keep them very simple. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if you had some issues with the more complex ones. Especially if they were made before 1.7

What you're seeing is your wingmen broadcasting their SPIs. To broadcast yours press DMS left long (in the upper right hand corner of your TAD, it should say SPI on [or something along those lines]) The fact that it was moving around was probably due to bad SPI etiquette from your wingmen. They might have left it on while still searching for targets. Generally during MP I try to broadcast for as short a time as is possible, so as to not clutter up everyones TAD As to question 1, you can't alter your wingmans SPI, he can change it's location or turn it on or off
-
What he said ^^^^ Also, sounds like you might not have actually set your SPI at you TGP line of sight (prob still set to your steerpoint). So when you china hat fwrd long to slave the Mav to the TGP you're resetting them both to your steerpoint. Aside from using the HUD to determine your SPI, you can check your TAD map. Your SPI will have a white symbol around it that looks like a wedding cake. If that symbol is centered in one of your waypoint marks you havn't set the TGP LOS as your SPI. If that white mark is on your TGP symbol on the map (green diamond) than you're golden

DCS:ME Survival Upgrade Pack
SmokeyTheLung replied to Panzertard's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Very cool, will be drowning some russians tonight :D -
I work 9-5 for my dose of realism. When I'm in the sim it's pure shenanigans :D I kill tanks with HEI (only takes about 500 rounds per) Jettison fuel tanks onto moving infantry I "over the shoulder" toss my CBUs onto whatever it is they might hit And I only take gas from the tanker when he's in a tight turn. ...I'm a realism junky
-
If you're rearming with anything other than, Rearm/anti-armor/f9 (six Mavs, 4 CBU-97, TGP, 2x aim 9, ECM pod, than you're doing somthing wrong :D

When is the Steam version getting patched?
SmokeyTheLung replied to GianS's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Someone didn't like my post :( Anyway, cheers preacher. Hope they get steam up to date soon so we can enjoy those dynamic shadows while running my night mission...oh wait :) -
I can just imagine his squeaky little voice! "AAA!!! 6 'o' clock low!!!"... "I need a new job/pair of pants"

Nice post. What's interesting to me is that standard TP rounds also lack a cavity for a tracer element. (at least according to the diagrams one can find online) I have a few PGU-15 lying around, but I've never had the beans to pull the projo from the case (those things aren't cheap!) I'm wondering if the tracer effect we see in sim is modeling vapor trails, or an old-school "smoke" tracer.
-
The TP rounds are tracers (white smoke instead of magnesium[?]) As far as I know, tracers (in the sense that you mean) haven't been used since the early testing phase with the A-10. Footage is around confirming this. I can also confirm that some of the ammunition companies that handle the air force contracts offer a 30x173mm tracer round (that is not the standard PGU-15TP round). I guess they are so obscure that it wasn't worth modeling (although it'd be pretty darn cool :))

HARMS will only work with the new and improved "20/20" Midget pod (the air force has been covering the costs off LASIK surgery required to improve the midges eyesight) Btw cheers on the lift!

Post a track for us to look at, way to many things could have gone wrong to start guessing

Nice work man, looking forward to it

New SP/MP Mission: "Full Frontal"
SmokeyTheLung replied to Bahger's topic in User Created Missions General
Fantastic mission Bahger, really well coordinated. You'll have to forgive me for not being on my "A" game last night, things tend to get a little silly when I'm up till 5:00AM -
A little help please re hooking & TAD
SmokeyTheLung replied to latearrival's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
1. Not sure about that, if I'm pointed a certain number of degrees away from a hooked symbol I lose the symbology on the TVV, but you shouldn't have to be pointed right at the mark to achieve that. 2. I'm guessing again here, I would think that you've hooked your steerpoint, which will change from A to B when you cycle through those marks. 3. You can only view one mark at a time, cycle them with DMS up and down (with HUD as SOI) I'm sure someone around here has some more solid answers... -

I'm right there with you; When you're on vacation with your irreplaceable family and you keep sneaking off to the internet cafe to respond to "important work e-mails" (this thread :)) -

SmokeyTheLung replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
wow...You really do need a break! -
haven't seen that one yet...(well maybe once or twice:) but I'm pretty sure it was user error) I generally don't find much amusement in the "random" failures. Losing half a wing or an elevator or vertical stabilizer, now that's fun! I recently had a landing gear malfunction that forced me to land gear up, that was exciting

you want this: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en You'll need to patch to 1.8 when available, maybe as early as next week Welcome to the forums, btw
