  1. Indeed, but if both sides are given enough primary tasks perhaps the a10s and sharks won't focus on eachother. Who am I kidding, if I knew there was a human player flying around in an enemy shark it would turn into priority number 1 :D On a serious note though, if the sharks had a real advantage (like exact target waypoints) and the a10s were left to "figure" it all out, it could lead to quite the interesting mission. I'll be working on that when the compatabilty patch comes our way!
  2. You see the compatibilty patch and think: A10s and KA-50s working together in peace... I see it and think: 2x A10s in support of a friendly assault, with the Ruskies defending with 4x sharks... Funny how that works! Just kidding, kinda :D
  3. ^^^ yeah indeed The flight model looks out of this world! It'll be nice when DCS has this level of fidelity.
  4. The tgp is capable of calculating an objects speed and direction. When it gets masked it just uses those numbers You'll notice that if you stay masked long enough, then you manuver to become unmasked the pod will have wandered off slightly (still moving at the same speed though)
  5. Fair enough, Definitely one of those small details that's really not worth the time, especally with track replays and TacView (which is priceless BTW) I still think it would be pretty cool though!
  6. ^^^ it would be pretty slick if we could review our flights and highlight reels the way real pilots do. +1 for DVADR functionality!
  7. Not bad... ...for an Englishman :D
  8. I don't know what you're talking about...:music_whistling: ...I've never once crashed the A10 The oil rigs are actually quite spacious, you could park a bus in-between those pillars. I've seen the gentleman in the vid using the white smoke fly through 4 oil rigs lined up with a tight spacing. Now that was some fine flying!
  9. You'll notice in the vid that on the second oil rig attempt, someone else says "holy $&%#"...
  10. (Strong language warning!) Can't take credit for making the vid, but I can take credit for the idiot with the blue smoke... :D About half way through we start trying to fly through oil rigs, never thought I'd have so much fun without things to blow up (not counting ourselves, of course)
  11. Been there done that... It's a bummer for sure. I sent mine to thrustmaster for repair, and after about 2 weeks I got a brand new throttle in the mail. They eventually covered my shipping costs. Before you know it you'll be back in business, but I feel your pain for now
  12. There's no question that it's not easy! I tend to fiddle quite a bit with WHOT/BHOT while scanning for targets, not to mention gain/level adjustments and the occasional brightness/contrast tweek. Also, zoom in on your display (and likewise use the zoom in the TGP itself), or use a snap view. With the right settings and some practice, these's no reason you shouldn't be able to spot infantry from 20nm out... Unless you really are blind :D I'd also recommend you set your "res of cockpit displays" in the options menu to the max value
  13. Grimes, what is this "snap" you speak of! I did this myself while on vacation, and it took me hours of lining up images
  14. Reload DSMS via the load page, see if that works. It is weird that you would see this without rearming, did you use the prepare mission function?
  15. Try switching the yardstick in your TGP to feet, that helps me quite a bit when determining ripple spacing and HOF for clusters To switch the yardstick to feet, open TGP control page, click the OSB next to metric (it should now read U.S.), and use your zoom commands to space your yardstick properly (remember, it's only the right side of your crosshair!). Also worth noting that your aspect must be correct for a reliable measurement
  16. I couldn't disagree more. All of the training aids (most certainly the manual) are about as helpful as they get. They do require you to do a certain amount of homework... I'm can sympathize with you, and I'd imagine that most around here can as well, it's not easy to learn this stuff. The professionals get full time training for years to get a handle on all this stuff. If you want someone to hold your hand, and tell you exactly what to do and when to do it, join the air force. Or likewise hop into some multi player and ask for help. I'm certainly more than willing to help, but there will be a lot of work for you to do. EDIT: I'd like to re-empasize the benefit of multi-player. Most of the guys I fly with (myself included) are more than happy to spend there free time helping others. So don't be shy! Find a suitable VFS and get your team speak on! Once you move into the more advanced applications for the tools at your disposal, you'll be scrambling for the manual. I promise ;)
  17. Try it! I know that if your attempting to place infantry on a building and your not careful about where they're placed, they will be at ground level but inside the building. Haven't tried yet, but will some trial and error, I can't see why you couldn't do it Edit: Sniped :D ...sort of
  18. Open the mission editor, on the top of the screen there should be a drop down Labeled "misc." open that and go to the "credits" option. You will see the version there. The boxed version is probably up to date
  19. looks like someone needs to RTFM!!!!!:book:
  20. Thanks for the info
  21. +1 for DCS "RayBan Aviators" option : P
  22. I hope you have some luck with this, love the idea wish I could help
  23. Worth every penny, will literally blow the mind right out of your head . Wouldn't dream of flying without it
  24. Thanks for the reply, too bad! Guess I'll have to go a different route
  25. Modded gun sound? or am I nuts...
