  1. Yes, I downloaded Notepad++ and it worked! Very excited seeing a stream of tracers rip through the MiG in a split second.
  2. I tried this and when I saved it, all the F-86's disappear from my missions. They won't even show up on the list of planes in ME. Instead, an A-10C takes its place. Of course I have a backup just in case and using the default .lua fixes the issue. What lines did you change to make this work? Did you use notepad?
  3. I for one, am very excited. It will be great to fly this and fight human-controlled MiG-15's online.
  4. Awesome, thanks! Hopefully I can get some fights in with others. What time is the server usually up/busy?
  5. Are there F-86 vs F-86 matchups on this server? I have yet to face another person flying the Sabre, and it will be a year or so until the MiG comes out.
  6. True, it's worth a try. But even if it were the frames dropping a bit, would the frame rate not have to drop to half its value in order to halve the effective rounds fired per second? Or am i missing something? I notice almost no noticeable frame drop yet the guns still fire at essentially half the rate they should. Alternatively, You could fire into something that would record hits in the mission debrief and look at the time and the rounds fired. That doesn't need frames.
  7. That's too bad. I was also hoping to fight other human-controlled F-86's.
  8. This is interesting. In gun cam films, it always looks like Sabre pilots are firing streams of rounds, like a laser almost. By comparison, the P-51 fires a max of 850 rpm and certainly doesn't have as long a firing time despite having 275 rpg for 4 guns and 400 for the other two. So something is surely fishy. I suppose this would need fixing. It would certainly bring down MiGs in far fewer bursts. Can anyone on the BST team confirm this slow rate of fire?
  9. I am excited! Hopefully I can be on tonight.
  10. That sounds awesome. Although I suppose I should've been more specific. I don't have the MiG-21! But I'd really enjoy fighting good MiG-21 pilots in my F-15 equipped with nothing but rear-aspect heaters, or maybe some AIM-7s too. Whatever the server rules, I don't mind. But that type of dogfight would be great.
  11. Clearly, you've never worked with code before.
  12. Ok, that's good. As long as it is known. I miss having the tanker available on the 104th server.
  13. For an aircraft that can climb at over 50,000 fpm, fly greater than 1,500 mph, find targets at greater than 80 nm and can shoot down up to 4 of them beyond visual range and you STILL want more power? Might be overkill! On the serious note, it would be interesting to see if this will be implemented in the full PFM. Blowing yourself up due to mistakes is one of the things enjoyable about a sim.
  14. I'm quite happy to know that people are enjoying the MiG-21. Will anyone be hosting any servers where F-15's armed only with AIM-9P's and AIM-7's can fight MiG-21 pilots with R-3R and R-3S missiles? It would be a nice 1970's Middle East scenario that I've been waiting a long time to take part in.
  15. I know that I personally am connected. I get the "contact" and "You're taking fuel" messages and I hear the fuel going through. I keep the lights green at all times, even though they move between the different green positions. Last night I connected with 50% fuel, kept it the lights in the green and after 4 mins, I still wasn't totally refueled. I forgot to save that track, but I have plenty of others which I can attach when I get home. One time I connected for over 10 minutes and still wasn't full. Never heard the "refueling complete" message, and looking at the track, the fuel indicator needle actually stops moving before the tanks are full.
  16. It used to be scripted in FC2, but with FC3, now it's all manual. Nothing changes in the flight model when you contact the boom. It might be easier in real life because of the precise stick, peripheral vision and the feeling of acceleration in different directions. Either way, it becomes easier to scale your stick and fly formation practise. Like GG said, it's all about paying attention to the entire tanker and knowing if you're moving away or toward it. Now hopefully they'll fix the fuel tanks to fill entirely.
  17. Currently, it seems like a glitch. I don't see why the radar should just give up at that range. But I suppose we'll need some input to be sure.
  18. The problem is in tracks where there was a lot of frame rate drop, the planes in the track don't do what they're supposed to do. I'll check it that happens in my track because there was a lot of gunfire and lots of dropped frames. EDIT: Yep, right off the bat, the track screws up what my friend and I were actually doing and as a result our planes die in the track.
  19. In multiplayer, I noticed that any F-86 controlled by another player has 2 canopies pop off when that player ejects. I was unable to get a track but I have a screenshot of my pilot beside my friend's F-86.
  20. Yes, I guess it was just that. Now the game only crashes occasionally which seems normal.
  21. I attached 3 crash logs here. And yes, the steam version and the standalone are the same. I'm starting to think however that the updates caused some glitches because I actually play the standalone from steam (i.e. I have both a steam version and a shortcut on steam for the standalone) so that I can communicate without Alt+Tabbing while still being able to play my standalone modules. I removed the standalone from steam and put it back and so far, no crashes. crashlogs.rar
  22. This sounds awesome. I can hardly wait!
  23. Ok, I will attach that when I get home from work today.
  24. I cleaned out the computer of dust and it didn't help. Sometimes when I hit quit (even after letting the fans rev down), the game will crash after loading 10% of the brief screen each and every time. EDIT: It turns out the steam install is perfectly fine, but the standalone screws up. I have all my newest planes on the standalone though. :(
  25. Thank you for your help, guys. The logs are attached here. If you want me to attach them in some other format, let me know. I think one of those might be the bluescreen, but I'm not sure. Too many crashes yesterday. BIGNEWY, I'm running with a stock NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560. Atalia, I haven't really tracked the heating problem, but it is getting rather dusty, so I'll clean it out this week. EDIT: I didn't realize attaching the files actually gave me an upload error. Sorry but I don't know how to attach those files. They won't upload and I can't open them with notepad.
