  1. I recently got the block 40 apg-68(v)1 pilots guide which is used by the 30
  2. Going by Falcon Strike 2015 the Gripen Ps-05a detects a 5 sq meter target at 129km (the same as RDY believe it or not). Captor-C and D are also based on Blue Vixen and have similar average and peak power (around 1kw average and 10kw peak). The biggest difference being antenna size (60cm for ps-05a vs 75cm Captor). Anyway my point is I guesstimate Captor is broadly similar but consistently slightly better then Ps-05a (which we have real world data for). This is consistent with the Swiss evaluation which shows the same thing. https://therhk111militaryandarmspage.blogspot.com/2020/03/exercise-falcon-strike-2015-gripen-vs.html?m=1 it should be similar but consistently better then the Hornet Radar
  3. That’s what I expected. Can’t be sure but given the soft announcement it makes sense.
  4. video on the Mirage 2000 test bed used to test the RBE2 with interesting descriptions and useful information.
  5. What appears to be a patent for the apg-81 TR module. US6278400.pdf
  6. Is that the mod that had official documentation? Maybe that can become official.
  7. Do you take requests?
  8. might possibly be the UMS MMIC in the RBE2 AESA T/R module.
  9. NATO UNCLASSIFIED RTO-MP-23 23-1 AC/323(AVT)TP/11 PROPULSION SYSTEM of Air to Air MICA Missile
  10. How do you think the MICA will compare to aim-120 and r-77?
  11. F2 can use damocles, it’s just by the time it was ready the F3 was available
  12. The Soviets did make a lot of Compromises to get the Fulcrum and Flanker in service in a somewhat timely manner. The N001 is a good example of this. They still were delayed by years. I somewhat doubt they expected most of these jets to be in service long after 2000 in their original configurations as they had plans for a next generation fulcrum and Flanker to start production around the time the USSR fell and the MFI not that long after.
  13. In the 2000s the Su-33 got something similar to the angle rate bomb sight that allowed them to do really accurate daytime dumb bombing. Also the Pastel RWR.
  14. To be fair wasn’t that more the cult of the archivist?
  15. J-10A/B and J-11B/J-15 are probably doable too.
  16. Su-30sm would be easy to make We have the old MKI desktop simulator, the flight control block diagram, and tons of figures for the radar.
  17. I know at one point Heatblur was proactive in asking SAAB. If I recall the datalink was the hold up?
  18. This 2011 paper in “modern radar” is on a NRIET test array is generally believed to be a subscale J-10B radar (1152 modules vs 1200+). Its pretty detailed and gives a good idea of performance. 天线设计-359bssvzifeyjqp.pdf

  21. I took these last month

  23. I wouldn’t rule it out
  24. I screwed up. I mean your right it’s not really different
  25. Interface? Not really modes are different though Modes are a bit different with different PRF. HPRF is only used on VS I believe. VS probably doesn’t provide Track like VSR. Uplook is probably a LPRF modes. basically is like a mix of APG-66 and the (V)5 we are familiar with. It’s still a good radar and comparable to the (V)5, it’s still based on AMRAAM use.
