F14E Super Tomcat '21 Project proposal and discussion
F-2 replied to Tank50us's topic in DCS Modding
http://creativemodelshop.com/displays.html this seems to have been the maker, they have a shot of the Rio station I would contact them for more info, they might even still have a model they can sell you. -
高機動機体形状の動的揚力特性の研究 (1997) 戦闘機形状の大迎角における風洞試験 (1995) Allegedly these are the names of the papers reporting the results of the F-2s wind tunnel testing. Saijyo Takashi is listed as the author. His name is also listed in “XF-2 Aerodynamic design” as one of the programs aerodynamicists. I’m gunna try to get my hands on both and report back. I also am working with someone to get that J/apg-1 flight test report. I’ll report back when I know more.

ST-21 cockpit mock up. I remember reading wind tunnel testing was done, you might want to track down old Northrop employees and see if anyone knows were to get it. -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
F-2 replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I mentioned this before but with everyone talking about the MKI, thrust vectoring, and bars they wish they had I thought I would talk about it again. Their exists a Version of the MKK called the Su-35UB. It’s an MKK with the composite MKK body tall vertical stabilizer and avionics with canards and the bars radar. Thrust vectoring was planned but I’m not sure if it was ever added. If Deka wanted to added it as an option, like the block I Jeff with the optional block II refueling prob or thrust vectoring Easter egg, I have some MKI aerodynamic documents I could provide that show the effect of canards on an SU-30 body. China near or borders India (MKI) Malaysia (MKM) and Russia (SM) so the scenarios are endless, if they decided it was a direction they wanted to take. -
Any chance we get one of the babies on the deck?

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?

Is it no more fc3 aircraft or no more fc3 aircraft from ED? -
Since DCS World came it’s become illegal for Russian citizens and companies to distribute information on military system. Even now ED has mentioned they are going through a long process of getting Permission to build an early Mig-29. In the world of military systems guessing to close to the right answer could still be considered a leak, especially when you have had access to classified information in the past. I doubt ED can do much, rather it would be better if a new third party came about to develop red aircraft, Deka sort of kinda Does this.

A surprisingly informative news story on the SU-35 cockpit. Are third parties allowed to do fc3 modules?
-
We last had an official update was December 20th with promises for updates in the new year which have yet to materialize. Four days before airbus made an offer for a tranche 5 eurofighter to replace the Tornado and tranche 4 order. I wonder if their licensor approach truegrit with some kind of deal like ED had with the makers of the KA-50. It wouldn’t be the first time a big manufacturer used a sim for advertising or PR. Thus potentially causing a change of plans.

Is Deka able to make a J-10 module?
F-2 replied to Hornet_Driver's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I suspect if and when the J-10A gets superseded by the J-10b/c as a frontline aircraft that could happen. The level of technology between the JF-17 block 1 and J-10a would be similar. That would be some time from now I would think however. -
Old topic with hud info Mig-35 hud ED is done with FC3 but it might be ok for a third party, The J-11 is only a few years old.
-
Found it!

That’s one of the early Fs-x concepts the domestic design. The domestic design and “maximum modified f-18” from mdd both We’re of a similar configuration. I think the Sx-3 design they went with is better to be honest. Also their is a Japanese air to air weapons pack made by modern for air to air weapons online.

Has Deka decided yet? What's their next module?
F-2 replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
One does not exclude the others. -

Maybe, but I’m sure they wouldn’t have announced publicly they were considering it if they weren’t open to the possibility. -
I’m not sure you read my link. To my knowledge what ever the mig seems capable of their has been no test of it on a ski jump or reinforcement for carrier ops, unless Russia plans to foot the bill that’s something India is going to have to finance. At least according to the video the Super hornet can be made compatible with Indian carriers with models flying today. Given the Mig-29k’s frankly awful attrition Rate and small number of type, India may need a replacement sooner rather then later.

Boeing claims that the super hornet can be adapted to a ski jump and and Indian delegation was going to evaluate it before COVID. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/38324/watch-a-super-hornet-launch-off-of-a-ski-jump-during-testing-aimed-at-the-indian-navy

The Indian navy is looking for a mig-29k replacement. In a few years went it’s off the front line maybe that will be viable.

Is the later M the same airframe with improved avionics or a different airframe?
-
Ah too bad! I’ve always been Curious how the M preforms relative to the original.

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
F-2 replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
I thought that too! But apparently the MKI is and evolution of the original Su-30 which was a specialized Su-27UB. It has canards but is for the most part structurally very similar to the original Su-27. The MKK on the other hand lacks Canards and thrust vectoring but is structurally more similar to the Su-27m. More carbon fiber, titanium etc. it has some improvements over the original flanker at High sub sonic speeds. -
So here is something you guys might be interested in for a modern Mig-29. In 2002 a Mig-29m was offered up for sale, year was listed as 1992, avionics seem fairly up to date. I don’t know if the sale ever went through but if a private M exists it should be fairly easy for a third party to make a module. https://web.archive.org/web/20021114221133/http://www.avitop.com/aircraft/aircraft.asp?id=355

Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
F-2 replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
Maybe, but no one retires on flight sim module money. You got to do what you want, what makes business sense etc. I’m not big on older jets myself but their is for sure a market. Even if the MKK is the biggest seller Deka could make, I think it would be the most expensive and time consuming. The Jeff sounds like it was grueling and they may very well need a break from the super complex modern jets. I don’t think them picking another jet would permanently close off another. by the way I think they are in need of Aerodynamic data. Found a handful of Papers about wind tunnel and CDF simulation for the MKI but no MKK. If you come across anything like that send it to them! -

It also would have been the basis of the Avibras-Sukhoi Su-35BR for Brazil. -
Ah well it was a nice thought. But excellent response. I think I’ve seen said artists work before.
