Virpil CM3 throttle – setting up detents and comparison with CM2
JIGGAwest replied to imacken's topic in VIRPIL Controls
again @imacken you have saved me a bunch of time and headaches.... you are the man! What DCS bindings do you have set for your "axis to buttons" 2-3% range on result button 127 and 128 for axes 1 and 2 ? -
I was having the same issue. Someone told me the Harriers gun's are powered by the engine. So, You need to have something like 70% throttle to fire the guns, I believe. I was trying to glide dive onto targets. As soon as I added throttle, I didn't have anymore issues.
-
I really appreciate your knowledge with the Harrier and TPOD functions. Thank you for sharing.
-
If you have the DATA page up it will go red. I think this is intended. Also alignment isn't necessary in this aircraft, just flip the dial to IFA.
-
I remember having to bind Left ALT + C to one of my mouse buttons within my mouse software for this to work. I do not know if this is a Bug.
-
I'll try the Slew around method. I've never found this easy. Maybe it will be easier with changing the FOV on the IRMAV uncaged TV screen.

Thank you. I do also have TDC depress bound to a separate button. I also have SSS on a different 4-way hat than TDS slew which is on a ministick. But, I'll try the SSS DEPRESS X 2 first, then SSS FWD. Doesn't this SSS DEPRESS x2 change the TPOD slew mode between HUD and TPOD? I guess IRMAV needs to be in HUD mode to lock? Maybe this is my whole issue. If I'm remembering SSS DEPRESS x2 correctly...

Hello, I am having the hardest time with the IR Maverick AGM-65F. Nothing about firing this weapon seems intuitive. This is the only way I can figure out how to fire the weapon. The DMT TV mode slew speed is so much faster than the TPOD. Why can't these be the same slew rate? Why is the Maverick TV mode have an upsidedown slew mode? I get so confused. - TPOD - TPOD SLAVE mode (FIND target, designate) - Switch to DMT TV mode on right MFD - Pull up STORES page LEFT MFCD - Uncage Maverick - Sensor Select FWD for IRMV mode - Verify target is locked, if not TDC down -PICKLE! Is there a way to use the TPOD instead of the DMT? I can never get the IRMAV to lock a target on it's own. If I press TDC down the seeker head just moves to the HUD pipper location. I'm lost and frustrated! Please help!

Mission 12 currently unplayable after recent patch
JIGGAwest replied to Pixy67's topic in Bugs and Problems
during the long cut scene, I was actually shot down. Then started at the checkpoint. Escort fighters fire on you, there doesn't look like any means of escape. Not sure if this is intened or the same bug. -
I had no idea there were any bombers in this mission until, I just now looked at the Tacview... The mission que says go to waypoint 6 RTB... Nothing about taking down bombers Glad I now know what to shoot down. I'm on my 10th attempt.

Hello, I had an issue where after my failed A/A refueling attempts. When completing pre contact with Texaco there is a mission message that a save point is created and you can return to the mission with full tanks. I made about 20 minutes worth of attempts at refueling. I quit the mission then selected end mission. When going back into the campaign from the DCS campaign selection menu, the mission advanced as completed and put me to mission 4. I was not able to complete the second half of the mission. Should I have instead chose to "fly again" instead of ending the mission?

Over 60 attempts Mission 1 (OLD DCS VERSION)
JIGGAwest replied to JIGGAwest's topic in AV-8B Sky Warrior Campaign
Thanks to the Update and a bit more DCS flight time.... I finished this in one try!! The stock loadout worked great. Wingman functions worked fine. I even forgot to contact Col Sulemon on the ingress to waypoint 1. The mission didn't fail me and Col Sulemon was contacted automatically. I was finished with about 5 minutes to spare. -
****UPDATE 7.13.21******* see files below replace in your core DCS install folder. Backup up your original if you like. Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit\MPCD\indicator : MPCD_definitions.lua Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit\Displays :(edited) Display_StrokeDefs.lua Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit : materials.lua ************************************** Sorry to beat a dead horse here... I know this has been posted serval times. But, the solution to a previously offered "fix" is not clear or defined. other posts related to this bug have been marked duplicate or FIX. The recent update had made no change to this issue. My setup: 4k main rendered screen 1920*1080 secondary rendered screen for MFD exports (dedicated screen) 700x700 MFD exports This export setup works for all other aircraft I own modules. The following solutions have been offered for MFD exports: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOLUTION 1 @RAZBAM_ELMO posted: From our lead dev on the matter: "YEs it is a known issue. it is a problem with the stroke (SVG) system. Fortunately it can be fixed in code, but it is a case by case basis. What is happening is that we are using a fixed thickness and fuzziness value when the display is exported. static const double thickness_fix = 1 / 0.8; static const double fuzziness_fix = 1 / 0.5; if (purpose == CURR_PURPOSE_GENERAL) { //Normal stroke processing for inscreen display } else { //Exported displays values shaderLineVariableParams.thickness = 8.0 * thickness_fix; shaderLineVariableParams.fuzziness = 3.0 * fuzziness_fix; } This solution looks like this may actually do something. But there is no reference as where to put this fix. I read every thread I could locate. Not one filename, possible folder, or possible file location for where to make these changes. Would someone please identify the file or the folder to make this change? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution 2: This solution works for readability, but the STORES page is affected and you can't read the ordinance. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NON Solution 3: This fix breaks my aircraft. folds the wheels on start and the cockpit is empty I have to delete Display_StrokeDefs.LUA and run a DCS repair. MPCD_definitions.lua materials.lua Display_StrokeDefs.lua

I suspect this may be it. I'll take a look, thank you.

Track File attached F18RWRnodisplay.trk

Hello, I'm pretty sure I had the guage working at some point. But, I have tried to use Helios and DCS Device Server to export MFD's to second and third screens. I've even manually tried to move the RWR as an export, but it never displayed. Since then the Guage doesn't light up or shown anything regardless of me turning the knob in any direction. I ran a slow repair and it still doesn't work. I am not running Helios and the monitor profile is not selected. Any ideas of which files I can delete to resolve this? FIXED Deleted F18 folder completely, then run repair. All OVGMe mods turned off. Fixed.

I'm not positive about Max Background refresh actually does. But, I do run TrackIR in the background and I didn't want any GPU resources spent on this native application or any other application while I'm playing DCS. So I set it low just in case. Vizio P75QXH1 My screen is supposedly HDMI VRR compatible and is Freesync premium 120hz. Not certified G-SYNC, but is supposed to be compatible, although reported by others not working or implemented yet. There is also a compatibility issue with the RTX cards and this panel for 4k 120hz ports. I can get it to work but it take much fiddling and reseting. I have not tried low latency mode. But I'm happy with 115-150 FPS @4K. Did you want me to test this and report back?
-
Not exactly sure what might be happening here. I've rarely have had crashes loading into DCS. What CPU and Ram size are you running? Here's a link to my 3070 settings, maybe this will help in some way. I do NOT have my card overclocked.
-
This is on a large screen tv with HDMI 2.1 I will give your suggestions a shot and see how the smoothness is for my setup. Thanks for the heads up. I randomly came to theses settings by trail and error and trying settings I've seen in other guides. Ultimately, Wanted to report my experiences. UPDATE: I tried the settings you have, but it hit my frame rate if I didn't keep the max frame rate setting high. But with what you reccomended and and the frame rate setting, I'm much higher than before

Over 60 attempts Mission 1 (OLD DCS VERSION)
JIGGAwest replied to JIGGAwest's topic in AV-8B Sky Warrior Campaign
Can you set mark points on all the ground targets with the TPOD in a single pass? I'll have to try that. I've been doing target, laze, drop, turn, aquire new target, repeat. Having to trim the aircraft every turn and every bomb run is also heavy load while I'm trying to aquire a new target. Maybe this will save me some time and load. I've also got way out of trim using autopilot for too long without constant trimming. -

Over 60 attempts Mission 1 (OLD DCS VERSION)
JIGGAwest replied to JIGGAwest's topic in AV-8B Sky Warrior Campaign
Teeps, you are a beast my friend! I salute you for completing this mission! I still can't wrap my head around killing infantry ground targets with 1 minute remaining with a machine gun scattered across a wide area. Were the mission designers expecting us to hover at the port and wait for the infantry to appear and do some rocket hunting? Looks like more of the same illogical mission design from the first mission. Thanks for sharing this. I may be abandoning any more attempts with this campaign. -
Over 60 attempts, yes, you read it correctly. I am a beginner pilot with about 150 hours of DCS and about 100 hours in Harrier. Full Hotas Setup, exported MFD, and multiple screens I have been extremely frustrated with this campaign start. Still have not completed mission 1. Pilot load for this mission 1 is extreme. I would be surprised if a beginner pilot would succeed with this mission. The starting loadout may not be the best. mistakes I've made and many times repeated. - Forgot to contact Col. Suleman before bombing. - Forgot to turn on the Lazer. - Turning too tight on a target second pass - Flown too far ahead toward the incoming bandits, taken out by SAM - RUN OUT OF TIME Difficulties: - Perfect passes and perfect bomb drops on all targets - Limited bombs and maximum target requirements - Time limits are too limited
