I'd have you try a few things before calling this a bug. While alot of the discussions lately have focused on frame rate loss in 2.8, I've noticed in some of my tests show that 2.8 is a bit smoother between frames and with lower CPU load. These tests were performed with G-Sync enabled. I can share the test data if requested, but it's rather heavy in depth. But, there may be a marginal spread in performance difference in 2.8 with SHADOW settings ON vs 2.7 stable and latest Nvidia driver version. You can see my attached test chart. I'd say until ED finishes their investigation on SHADOWS, maybe turn them off? (this could be the "bug") Keep in mind DCS has changed it's Fullscreen mode recently, so try setting g-sync to be enabled for windowed applications also in NVCP. Although, I've not tested this for required functionality yet. I don't have full screen mode enabled in DCS. Maybe a look at your DCS settings can help us give you some more performance for some detuning trade-offs. Share that if you wish. Nvidia control panel suggestions: Are you using MSAA in game? 2x 4x ? Try running 2x with NVCP set to Multi Frame samed AA (MFAA) ON. Or keep MSAA in game off and this setting to off if shimmer is not a problem for you. I like to set a "Background Application max framerate" to 20. This doesn't do much, but if you have applications running in the background like trackir or a YouTube video, they won't be fighting for your GPU/CPU resources. If you tab out of DCS, with this on DCS will look jittery until you refocus the window. Set low latency mode to ON. Your monitor may have a setting for this too. Some would say to Set Max Framerate below your refresh rate by couple of percent, this could help deliver a more smooth experience. Couple this with "Vertical Sync" set to use 3d application setting in NVCP. You can try testing v-sync on or off in DCS. Or leave this off if you prefer hitting the highest of frame rates. "Texture Filtering" could give you a hit, maybe try performance. I wouldn't suggest the HIGH modes of quality or performance. Just the standard options. If set to quality this will affect the anisotropic filtering to OFF. Anisotropic Filtering - set to managed by application or 16x, if application managed set this in DCS. Power Management - this is a contentions setting for some. If you set to prefer max performance, the GPU will run full power all the time when demanded. You may not want this if you are hitting high temps on the GPU at times. Or set to normal.

yeah, I'm happy with Right CTRL + Numpad 0 does. It does permanently save this position too, it seems. -

I just tested my my setup - HP Reverb G2V2 - SteamVR / Windows MR, F18 (40-45fps), Apache 35-45 (5900x, 3090ti, 64GB ram, DCS on m.2,pagefile on fastest M.2 (let windows set)WIN10) - 2.7 I was getting 45-60 with the attached settings. No SteamVR home - OFF WMR - places ( "Empty Room") No SteamVR mirror No WMR mirror maybe duplicating some of this will give you an improvement? -

This sounds like a larger issue with VR performance, but I am also seeing a dip in 4k. It's been stated that the VR "optimization" didn't make it into this patch. Although, as clarification was offered about the "optimization" it was somewhat re-defined and clarified as not necessarily better. But, maybe it will be better than now and hopefully it will be patched soon and resolve some of the issues you and others are experiencing. I have VR, but I mostly fly 4K @120hz with MFD exports. I use a G-sync compatible monitor and have it tuned on the driver level. I have not tried VR with the new update, but the group I fly with mostly uses VR and most have upper end systems. I am hearing feedback that some users experience issues, like specific shadow settings may be locked ON. shadow settings in DCS are a big FPS hit. I usually keep these FLAT, or OFF in most of these options. So, this could be the performance hit. I've been trying the run the edge of tuning performance for DCS since I joined the sim about two years ago. I currently run a 5900x, 3090ti, and 64gb. Unfortunately, you need a high tier system to get reasonable smooth performance with 4k or VR. I am very sensitive to frame rates, especially in VR. If I am lower than 45fps in VR I get very sick. So, I feel your pain at 25fps. I'm sure you know this but, you might have to sacrifice some detail to get some better frame rates. I have seen some performance dip recently for 4k usage, But I am still able to get some smooth performance. There are some variable issues to deal within DCS that are not a consistent experience across the board. Unit counts in multiplayer or single player, Number of static units placed on a map, The specific map itself, Number or players on a multiplayer server, Mods used in a mission, Level of detail with some modules, scripting and activity of units, etc., all effect gameplay performance. I have a track I use for benchmarking I emulated from this video below. His system seems to be taking a hit, but still functional. I have not run my benchmark for 2.8 yet, but I am seeing similar loses as this video. -
Hello, I'm not seeing this reported yet. I appreciate the UPDATE for the default binding menu changing when you occupy the CPG in the AH-64. Previously, when you join the CPG seat and enter the Adjust Controls Menu, you would default to the AH-64 Pilot controls. But, After you use the AH-64 module, All other modules will default to AH-64 Pilot or AH-64 CPG Controls, which ever seat is occupied last, when entering the Adjust Controls Menu.

Was this an external powered card? Which specific card did you use?

Petrovitch Crosshair off center with Multimonitor setup

I am wondering if anyone has tried RIGHT CTRL + Numpad 0 for recentering this? It seemed to work for me with the hornet with the default head position being low. I'll give it a shot and report back. -
Hello, Thank you reading. It would be nice to have access to aircraft settings in the special tab while in a mission. Some modules have access. But all aircraft are blocked from this. Reasons for asking: - A lot of aircraft special options have to do with tuning the aircraft functionality for the user flight controls. - not having access to these settings forces the user to guess at a setting, load into a mission, then verify the setting, and revert if not not correct. - especially with trim settings and afterburner detents.

for ver 2.8 I see the new checkbox "units cold at start" with the checkbox UNCHECKED, If I now use late activation, units are completely cold on mission start. I haven't tried normal placement, But what should be happening with FLIR pertaining to ground units at this point?

I know this was an older bug, but there had also been significant updates to the UI position. Is this still a common issue? Is there a known workaround of fix or this? attached is a screenshot of the default center position -
re-map deleted keybinds Has something changed with keybinds?

IHADSS Symbology Select problem since last Open Beta update is the track meant for this merged thread? Does someone need to post a track for the multiplayer bug? has the symbology select bug been reported? -
glad this wasn't just me. same issue here in multiplayer server with hundreds on targets on the map. I was thinking for a minute there was a limit for the CM points taking over the maximum Target points. I thought target points had a maximum limitation of 50?

Not sure why this topic got merged. But the bug is with multiplayer and having a human CPG. Symbology select UP to transisition mode goes straight to cruise mode. You can not set transition mode. -
There is clearly a problem with the ALT hold at the moment. Last patch it worked, this patch, not so well.

need track replay BUG - A/S button not synced with WEP page
JIGGAwest replied to JIGGAwest's topic in Bugs and Problems
That's not the exact issue I was speaking about. My original reported issue seems to have been fixed. You are correct though, There are cases where George will fight you over the weapons A/S switch ON/OFF. Additionally George will still safe the weapons if you have him set to hellfire lasing a target, and you kill the target with a gun run. -
