I have a similar issue but my headset will freeze and when I take the headset off it shows on the monitor that dcs has crashed. I have tried the page file trick, changed settings, performed a clean install for the nvidia graphics driver, performed a dcs repair, I have no mods, I run the stable version. This is really dissapointing. I'm not sure what to do. I've sent tons of reports over to the eagle dynamics team and I think they have no answers. My issues started right after the Christmas 2021 update. Some missions work fine and others don't. The Persian Gulf supercarrier case 1 recovery will crash every time I play it but other missions work fine.

I flew in the Caucasus in multiplayer. It crashed as well about a half hour into the game. I have had multiple crashes today. You should see the reports I have sent in. There are multiple reports.

I have been using the supercarrier case 1 recovery mission for the caucasus map and it has been working fine. So maybe there is an issue with the Persian Gulf map supercarrier missions with the oculus quest 2. The simulator works great with 4 vs 4 aim 7 mission in nevada as well with the oculus quest 2. Also I can play the persian gulf super carrier case 1 in track IR and it plays fine. I have been troubleshooting all day today with this issue to give you guys as much info as possible. Also I have been successfully sending crash reports to you guys right after the crash happens. I am not sure if your getting them though

Just happened again. I tried the page file trick mentioned by mustang. i play the 4 vs 4 nevada aim 7 mission with the oculus quest 2 and it works great. I go onto a simple supercarrier case 1 recovery mission in the persian gulf and I crash to the desktop after a 5 minutes or so. I attached the files for you guys. I feel this is linked not so much with the quest 2 but the supercarrier module and this started after the stable update right before yesterdays update. The supercarrier case 1 recovery mission works ok for me on track ir so I am lost. Please help. I have not had this issue before that stable update i mentioned earlier. I do not use oculus tray tool anymore. Not sure if I should tweak anything in the nvidia control panel app for virtual reality. Thie PC I built is specifically for dcs world and this is all i use it for. Very disappointing. I do not have any overclocking on my ram or gpu. I will give this a try. I did a few supercarrier case 1 missions on the supercarrier with track ir instead of vr. Works fine. It all points to the vr headset.

This latest crash was 2 minutes into the supercarrier case 1 recovery in the persian gulf. It doesnt seem to happen when doing the aim7 4 vs 4 in the nevada mission or a freeflight in the caucasus. I performed a dcs repair after the crash. I performed a clean install of the latest nvidia driver 511 before starting the game. Please help. Files attached. At random times there is static noise in the back ground while in the cockpit. I can reset the mission and sometimes it will go away. Very annoying sound and it will do it through the whole mission. It happens quite a bit. Reminds me of a TV channel that doesn't come in at a very low volume and it will stop and immediately start up again.

When I jettison the external center fuel tank while practicing the 4 vs 4 aim 7 mission in Nevada the sidewinder growl starts. Very easy to replicate and happens pretty much every time. I am setup with the aim 7 sparrow and as soon as I jettison the growl activates but my hud is still showing I am setup with the aim 7.

I am running the repair which was easy enough to do. I will perform a cleanup if I still come across issues.

Can you guys give step by step instruction on how to run the cleanup and repair so i dont screw this up. I have the latest stable version and I am not using steam and I do not have any mods. I am having the DCS crash on me once in awhile while using the oculus quest 2 and I figured it couldn't hurt to do this. I performed a clean install of the graphics driver like bignewy suggested when looking at my log and that seemed to help for a couple times i went on and then I just had another game crash.

I have noticed that the oculus tray tool is causing dropped fps in the cold start supercarrier mission on caucasus and I had very bad frame drops on the Carrier landing which was pretty much unplayable. I tried a landing on the same mission without the oculus tray tool with much better fps and playable. I am going to start getting away from the tray tool from here in out. I use the official quest link cable and set at 72hz only because it's recommended. 2080ti, i9-10900k, 32gb ram. I'm also on version 37 for the quest 2 and stable version latest update.

I could not automatically send because of the crash impacted the vr headset and i could not click on the send crash file. I could see the option with the vr headset off my head but no way to click it. I wanted to do that for you guys.

Thanks for the help. I have a Nvidia asus rog strix 2080ti. I'm looking in to how to do a fresh install safely. If you have any safe procedures for this let me know. It doesn't seem too complicated.

DCS crashed while using Oculus Quest 2 with version 37 and the latest DCS stable version. This latest crash was a case 1 recovery supercarrier mission. I have had crashes in the past using the supercarrier missions after the latest stable update using the Oculus quest 2. The crash before this was a cold start in the Persion Gulf on the supercarrier. I attached the crash report from 1-16-2022 and the latest from 1-22-2022. I dont have these crashes when I am doing the aim 7 4 vs 4 missions in nevada and the caucasus. I feel its related to the super carrier missions only. I dont get much time to get on this simulator so its very frustrating to get on maybe once every other week and have it crash. My track IR setup seems to work fine. Also the crash happened on version 35 of the oculus quest 2. Dcs world stops during this mission and I go straight to my desktop. It doesn't show dcs has crashed. I am using the oculus quest 2. It stops at random times.

Thanks for the replies everybody. It was an absolute thrilling experience flying multiplayer and I enjoyed it a lot( especially in VR). One thing I was put off a little bit was that this guy I was flying with who was flying flight lead was using his F10 map to find the tanker and to find The F5 aircraft we were hunting. 1st I didn't know how he was able to track the tanker so quickly then I realized he must be using the F10 map. I personally pretend like the F10 map doesn't exist and I use awacs to find the tanker through a bullseye and find the nearest threats. So far the most realistic experience I have done so far is The Raven one campaign which is a fantastic campaign. Let me know what your guys and thoughts are on these topics.

I just flew with another F18 pilot on multiplayer. When I asked for a Mach number so I can match his airspeed he gave me fuel flow instead and was continuing to give fuel flow readings throughout the flight. I have never heard of anyone giving fuel flow for an airspeed. I would think giving the Mach no, indicated airspeed, ground airspeed all would be a lot easier. I would think the Mach number is the easiest. Please let me know if I am missing something or if this is a learning experience.

When I attempt to refuel in this mission the probe does not attach to the basket properly after proper procedures and communications with the tanker. What I do is abort the refuel and repeat procedures again to have the tanker send the basket back out and eventually the basket will connect properly( it might take 2 aborts). Extremely frustrating.

Try a case 3 recovery approach on this mission jayonefox. It's a great challenge.

This mission is setup with no visibility at all with the supercarrier. Settings should be changed to represent actual weather conditions for a case 2 recovery.

Jethro I think I found the answer. Move/drag the start bar vertical to the side of the monitor. This was a successful fix because the curser opens up the windows start bar on the bottom. When moved to the side it is far from the game window. Also it seems like we should have the box checked for"confine curser to game window" as well as moving the task bar to the left or the right.

Also move the task bar to the side instead of the bottom as well as unchecking the option "confine curser to game window." The task bar is easily opened on the bottom while playing vr for dcs. Moving the task bar to the side puts it far from the vr gaming window.
