  1. It is about 1.5 hours on a multiplayer server. I can dig for it but... It would be huge.
  2. I had two missions now in which I encountered the following problem: - I had RWS active - I had some contacts fading out of elevation (not exactly sure, might be beaming as well) - I corrected elevation - HSD shows them as radar tracks again - RWS screen stays empty - Switching the TWS instantly renders those targets - Going back to RWS, screen blanks - Moving the FCR cursor towards the HSD contact (on the HSD) and I can actually lock the target in RWS even though the screen is completely empty. It was on a multiplayer server after about 30 minutes or so, so reproducing the issue or sending a track is a difficult task. So far, I failed to reproduce it in an isolated environment. I know of other people experiencing the same. It happened one time after a spotlight search, and I think it is related to the spotlight search in lookdown conditions (both of the instances happened in lookdown conditions), but I could not reproduce it in single player environments yet. Is such a problem known? Have other people suceeded in reproducing it? Any clue what might be the fault or how to reproduce it somewhat reliable? It really bothers because I mainly use RWS and all of a sudden, I think my scope is clean while it actually is not. Feel free to close the thread if the issue is known. Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend!
  3. If you have gear down, there is a slotted line at 2.5 degrees down. If this is on the runway threshold or little after that, it'll be fine. The line is only shown with gear down.
  4. Only AOA matters. I never look at apeed, fuel flow... Because they don't matter. Fly the bracket, don't have more than 13° AOA on touchdown and don't have less than abot 10. That's it.
  5. You guys need to stop flying with full tanks in the desert. When carrying 8 Hellfires and a pair of rocket pods plus a full tank, you can fly for hours but can't hover in hot and high environments. Go 60-70% fuel and it will handle just nice. If you hover and need to lose altitude quickly, dip your nose forward or roll to any side with barely touching the collective. Then, convert altitude into speed. It will fly like a fixed wing between 40 and 120 kts. Throw the stick around as you wish, just don't go nuts on the collective. The Apache is the helicopter that I am most precise in, even more robust as the Ka-50 which I crashed quite often by going to hard on the collective. The Apache is a beast, but it takes about two weeks of flight training until you get friends with it.
  6. Per drag index and weight, which is also mentioned in said manual. Keep in mind that pylons have to be accounted on some stores, but not on all of them.
  7. Unfortunately, we don't have charts for airbrakes but we do have charts on the acceleration from the HAF manual and those match (see above).
  8. We need charts and evidence.
  9. In order to simulate older blocks in 80s or 90s scenarios, I would appreciate the option to disable link 16 datalink but keep everything else. Additionally, it would be really cool to have IDM modelled as an early datalink option. I understand that other blocks are not gonna be in DCS for now, but such an option would be nice- not only for the F-16 but also for other planes. Or is there already such a thing but I missed it?
  10. Do not activate it on the ground. It will smoke the whole airport. Did it once by accident on our squad server and I swear if I hadn't have been given a callsign already, I'd now be called "smoker".
  11. That makes sense. Thanks a lot!
  12. I came here for asking a stupid N00b question after reading the manual, specifically the chapter "Sensors and sights". George is my CP/G. He has Hellfires selected, I have the gun. I have TADS selected as ACQ. So I have the gun to follow my HMD/PNVS and George is doing his thing with Hellfires. Is the only option to see George's TADS range to have the TADS as ACQ selected?
  13. I need to learn French again His videos are really good, thanks for the link!
  14. That is an explanation. Thanks!
  15. I can't get a release whenever I use a release angle of 10 degrees up- the release cue flashes, but no release when pulling up to 10 degrees pitch. I could get a release just fine in level or dive release. Is this implemented yet?
  16. Yes, because speed and thus airflow changes and so does the fuel flow.
  17. If you like Navy Ops and multirole, the hornet and SC are excellent. If you like helikopters, nothing beats the Apache.
  18. Well if there is a problem provide a track for it. We have the blessing of publicly available EM charts- which already proved and solved the pylon drag bug on the external wing tanks.
  19. Yes, was going Mach 1.2 with two bags yesterday. And above. Seems to be fixed.
  20. See the linked content above, various tracks were supplied in that thread. If I can help with anything or one of your developers needs more info / tests whatever, just tell me and I will try to provide it. It is up to you to decide if it is the same bug or a different one, but I think it is the same issue.
  21. Early access doesnot mean feature complete. There will be features missing. Compared to the F-16, the Apache release is awesome. We could fly it in a multiplayer mission after the first hotfix. The F-16 is now getting there, but it took a long time to have the feature set that the Apache had at release. And features missing is a natural thing of early access. The Apache is usable with most of its systems, so I don't see why it should have been delayed further. I would miss many features, but not an autopilot. I took about 20 flight hours to master hover, braking and popups though. But then, I am a fixed wing guy so I blame half of the time on that. Go to Kutaisi, takeoff from a hover. Accelerate down the taxiway towards the ramp. Stop at the ramp without gaving the nose drift more than 30 degrees off the initial course. Hover, turn in a hover towards another ramp, repeat. Hover there. Climb in a hover to 300 ft. Drop sideways and get down to 20ft asap. Stop in front of a hangar. Slide sideways. Then try to do everything faster. Flying your helicopter is a skill you should master, and hovering is a part of it imho.
  22. It does now.
  23. It is simply too new, and with the newer 120s that can be launched via datalink, this is probably not really depending on MSI. The Vipers HSD and Link 16 enable you to do the same just manually, but... In DCS, you are a lone wolf and in real life it is more important how you play as a team. However, if it works and how it works is most probably classified. Even public documents might be wrong on that, nobody really knows and those who know are not allowed to tell. There are only nuances between the 16 and the 18 in terms of SA, nothing that would be an instant game changer. The Hornet has a lot of tools, that's true. But it doesn't have a tool to completely rule the Viper. And when it comes to SEAD, nothing beats the HTS. Different fighters, different roles. Both were build to fight MiGs and Sukhois, and the fact that there is the discussion of how they perform against each other is directly related to the lack of adversaries on the red side with a similar fidelity. The Jeff is the only exception, even the MiG-29S and the J-11 are not really a match against the 16 or 18, let alone the Tomcat that would be a more suitable adversary in the time frame. The Viper came a long way from its light weight fighter program, but those are its roots. It was never meant for BVR since the USAF has the F-15 for that role. It can fill that role but is more needed in the SEAD role, supporting ground troops and support in the CAP role- for about half the cost of other airframes. The F/A-18 however had to be a jack of all trades, replacing everything from the F-14 in the fleet defense role to fighter bombers and even do anti ship. The navy had to give up their Tomcats, which left a deep hole that was not filled with the old hornet but with the new Super Hornet. Neither airframe was built as an air superiority fighter, and both have their shortcomings in that role. They can carry 120s, and have a capable radar.
  24. I am honest... The only time I use a moving map is when I fly helicopters. For AA, the map is not relevant at all. And in many cases, the map makes anything drawn on top of it hard to read. It is nice for CAS, which is not the main purpose of the F-16. The one thing the Viper is missing is the data cartridge for setting pre planned threats and draw lines, but I hope that this will come one day. There is no real mission planning currently.
