yes I use virtual desktop. I have not had the game close/minimize during play

I get the same thing scared me at first thinking DCS had crashed.

I have not used it for a backup image yet but I downloaded DiskGenius and have messed around with it. Have warched a few Youtube vids seems fairly simple to use. Right now I have been using SK hynix software that came with my SSD drives only downside is that you must have one of there drives installed to use their software. But I do keep a backup image of my C drive and my E drive DCS on 2 separate SSD's. When windows goes south I can have the drive reimaged fairly quickly and I dont have to reinstall all my other programs. J

I started with a quest2 then the reverb G2 and now currently using a Quest Pro. I don't have the beefiest of systems but have been really happy with the performance and visuals with this headset. I bounce back and forth between using USB link and Virtual Desktop for DCS and at this point in time the software for both are working really well. The only problem that I had was here awhile back Meta updated their software and DCS would not run. Luckily there were a few work arounds and the problem got fixed. Most of the guys in our squad that have gotten into VR or upgraded have gone with the Quest3 with a few Crystals in the mix there. Just wanted to share my VR journey so far J

In the main headset menu not the computer app goto the green gear settings icon then system it will be in the display tab "enable fit adjustment" also on the tracking tab it has auto ,50hz,60hz I set mine to 60hz

@Qcumber I was scouring the web for quest tracking problems and one thing that I ran across was to disable the "fit check option" in the headset menu. I unchecked mine and flew on 4YA Syria for about 45 minutes with no freezes. Could of been a fluke and all the trons lined up for that flight time will tell. Thought I would pass it along J

Yes Im using QVFR The game itself is still running fine and your still able to control the jet and flip switches. It's the headset tracking freezing up for a few seconds.

I upgraded from win10 to win11 about 3 weeks ago ever since then when in DCS headset view will freeze for about 10 seconds then start tracking again. I wanted to take some screen shots in Virtual Desktop but it wont let me check the box for that in settings it will put the check mark there but it won't stay. I'm using the recomended GPU driver. H264, automatic bit rate and ultra. Quest pro with eye tracking. Router is a asus rt-ac68u 2.4/5g The Pro is the only one using 5G network. OpenXR tool kit mostly to tweak the colors. I have used Virtual Desktop for a couple of years been really happy with it. Got screen shot to work here are my Virtual Desktop settings. The performance overlay was just hornet freeflight dcs.log

I do use QVFR with my Pro

Another thing to add to the equation I recently upgraded from win10pro to win11 pro but that went fairly smooth. I run an asus rt-ac68u the 5GHz is only used for DCS and 2.4GHz is used for the house. I also noticed that Godlike used to show my 6950xt now it listed with Ultra. Going to go back to my original settings and work back up one change at a time. Win10 it all ran fine. And one last question on the override resolution is there a list roughly showing what 1.1, 1.2 and 1/3 and so forth Thank Again for the info J

I tried your settings worked out fairly well. My setup is not as up to date as yours. I used your pixel settings and fov at 90 but I had to use h264 instead of hevic 10 bit. It gave me problems DCS would hang up during mission load. Not sure if it because I'm using a amd gpu or it latest drivers but 264 worked fine. For me I found that if I used 90hz and locked it at 45 in the toolkit it ran really smooth even on 4YA Syria which for me is my test bed for MP. I tried your settings with 72hz and ASW or what ever VD call it in auto my headset would loose tracking at times and the whole picture would move with my head like it was in 2d then it would kick back and track fine. Even with that glitch I was holding a constant 72fps in the 4YA server which I've never been able to do. That was with roughly 15 other players at that time. When I changed the FOV you could see the outline as it changed had to restart DCS for the settings to take affect. With your 4090 did it do the same thing? J

@artao Sorry it took so long Get DCS running in VR sitting in the cockpit tab out and Open Voice attack. In the upper right hand corner click on the symbol that looks like a pencil in a square box. Now click on NEW Command on this screen you will need to have "when I say" checked then type in what command that you want (for me I just say "mouse"). In the middle of this screen click Mouse Box then the Move Box this will pull up another screen and on this one you will click SET.This does not set the mouse position it just get everything ready. Another screen comes up saying to position your mouse curser and then pres F8. Pop back into DCS position your curser and press F8 then tab back to VA click OK to close out of that screen then ok again. You should be back to the "add command screen" with the move mouse entry line showing. Click the Mouse Box on more time and this time select the Click Box. Then select left click then ok . Now save and apply . In game when I say mouse it will center in my VR View no matter where I'm looking. I hope this all make sense. J

Hope they get things running smoothly again but its sad to see no Super Carrier fixes. It seems to be the redheaded stepchild of DCS mods.

Im on a fishing trip this weekbut when i get back ill post screen shots of the command setup. I will rephrase you can have the curser show up any place you want. I should of said center of your view vs hud

Myself and a few others use voice attack . You can make a command that when you say mouse it centers it in the hud. J

I have been running the 6950xt for a year now with my quest pro not top of the line but I have been really pleased with the performance with my settings

I'm still using my kuject powered link cable that i bought a couple of years ago for my quest 2 that I now use with my pro. Fingers crossed its been trouble free so far J

Yep its getting old, its a shame we have all these jets and helos but no way to fly them anymore. To much focus on $ in my opinion. I could live with a game breaking patch if it happened once a year but it seems like its everyone now. I feel like a stranded starliner astronought. ED got us into orbit and here we sit.

My first ticket was in July 2023. Put in another one a couple of days ago. Pretty well got the same response it takes time its in work blah blah blah. But we do have the air boss so we can gaze at all of the inop cats in all their glory.

Yes its sad, myself and others have repeatedly brought this up .It's supposed to be addressed at some point but who know's when, we might see the second coming of Christ before anything gets done. I figure once they run out of aircraft&helo modules for $ they might update the paint on the carrier so we can see the non working cat's better.

This is my battle plan I'm going to bump this post every three weeks, if you can take time to answer post here and on discord plus other subjects. why not here for Super Carrier forum? @BIGNEWY I pm'd you awhile back thanking you and the team on jumping on getting a fix out really fast which was great. But for DSC Airboss/ LSO I could care less give us an update on the basics then the upgrade eyecandy. In real life I got to watch from the sidelines from time to time with the airboss and stand on the cat walk to watch the lso's which was neat as He$$. But I imagine most of your customers are sitting in a Hornet or Tomcat staring at a deck crew staring off in space.

@tmz I ran your mission and I averaged 10fps in VR with Virtual DT. I'm not that versed in the mission editor but I seen there were over 1300 units for blue and red. How many are moving or active. Our squad had troubles with moving AI tanking performance in MP and had to scale it back some. I use the 4ya Syria server as my stress test for VR and as of right now it fine. DCS is a strange some people 0 problems the others the computer catches fire. I have been on both ends of the spectrum.

On your VR settings screen try scaling back on the Force IPD Scaling I run around 35 with the hornet. It might be a little to close for some people but my eye balls are old and it keeps me from wearing glass while in VR J
