F-35A Announcement discussion mega thread.
Tomcat388th replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: F-35A
As much as I love DCS and if its another chance to bring in more money thats where the priority will go. I know bills and people have to be paid just seems like a lot of stuff get forgotten about once a new module gets started -
If OTT has been working and not giving you any problems no need to change. There was something with my system that just trashed it I would have to reinstall the program from time to time. As for the different PD settings that was something that had been posted here on DCS a long time ago when I first got my quest 2 and I was happy with the results but you could probably just set the oculus to 1.0 and bump up the traytool PD a bit and get the same effect. I run a quest pro now I bounce back and forth between link cable and Virtual desktop just to compare the two. J

Here are the settings when I used my quest 2. Oculus tray tool always gave me fits and would get corrupted and loose it settings. Another thing that comes to mind is when this starts happening is the headset getting low on battery power? I have a powered aftermarket link cable that charges while you play and rarely does my headset get below 80%

Fullscreen on desktop monitor while in VR
Tomcat388th replied to warmachine79's topic in Virtual Reality
On the DCS setting config tab make sure the resolution matches to what your monitor is set to. Plus the full screen option on that page also I believe -
Ele Com brand model ex-g It was a cheapo from amazon it is right handed configuration with 4 clickable buttons and track wheel. It sits right beside my win wing joystick J

We saluted a few times after we were ready trying to get some action for the deck crew
-
Not sure where to post this. 9 of us tried to launch and the cat crew never tried to taxi us. We all saluted plane captain gave us the signal to start. As each of us got ready we saluted again and there we set. No statics on the carrier that I'm aware of I did not build the miz. So I'm not sure if its a us problem or if its a SC problem. I have my dcs slider set to 95 and with openxr toolkit I lock my frames to 45. I'm also using Virtual Desktop with the 90hz setting. I get really smooth gameplay SP and MP my specs are in my sig. When I left everything at 90 and have the dcs fps showing I would see the stutter/skip if it dipped down in the upper50's or low 60's and back up to 90. With it locked at 45 I rarely get anything at all. On the FPS monitor staight fps line and the frame time line is really tiny zigzags. Don't know it it helps or not but thought I would post Happy New Year everyone J

Go over to Virtual Desktops Discord channel if you haven't already. They are real quick on replying to problems

Virtual Desktop gets you away from using the meta pc app. Not sure how it works in the headset itself but I would assume that it still has to interact with the meta software in the headset

@The_Nephilim I have no idea if this will help or not whether I'm using link connection or Virtual desktop I'm set at 90hz but I use openxr toolkit to lock my frame rate at 45. This is with ASW disabled. I do not have the apache I mainly fly the hornet and tomcat in VR. If I look to the side I will see a little skip here and there but you really have to look for it. This is with the quest pro and eye tracking.
-
quest pro here also have a cheap charging cable from amazon and use a trackball mouse. I tried hand tracking but it was hit or miss for me and stuck with the trackball mouse

Tomcat388th replied to KungFu's topic in VR Bugs
I fly VR on the main settings dcs tab and vr I do not have confine curser to game window checked on either screen. I do have use mouse checked on the vr tab J -
When using VR (quest 3) I can't reach the right lower corner.
Tomcat388th replied to MickyG's topic in VR Bugs
Make sure your screen size resolution on the setup page matches to what you have your monitor display set to. I know it will mess up 2d not sure if it carries over to VR but something to check -
About the only thing really use open xr toolkit for anymore is adjusting the colors and the sunglasses option. Helps with seeing the hud in bright backgrounds. J
-
If your using open xr toolkit have you made any changes to the Field of View setting. That setting worked fine for Virtual Desktop on my system but messed up if I tried to use oculus link one side was out of focus for me. Set it back to default 100 and everything was back to normal. J

Quest Pro Link connection eye strain UPDATE
Tomcat388th replied to Tomcat388th's topic in Virtual Reality
I figured it out, for some reason oculus link does not like any changes with the Field of View setting in the openxr toolkit. With Virtual Desktop it works fine. I put it back to default 100 and oculus link is back to normal. It took me awhile to remember I had changed it tweaking Virtual Desktop. Thanks for responding guys J -
I'm set up so I can use Virtual Desktop or quest link just so if one gest broke I have a back up. Been using Virtual Desktop most of the time popped back in with quest link for a quick flight my eyeballs feel like their going to pop out of my head. Everything looks fine but it feels like my eyes are straining to focus if that makes sense. Go back to Virt desktop no problem. This is just with DCS quest home screen and stuff seem to be fine. Was wondering if anyone else have run into this. My quest is on ver 69 on the computer app and headset I have tried this with and without my debug settings and different refresh with oculus J

Huge performance drop when switching from Rift S to Quest 3
Tomcat388th replied to DST's topic in Virtual Reality
I know that you have a Q3 but here are my Oculus Debug Tool settings that I use with my Q pro if they will help any J -
Yes both are working for me. If i had eye tracking checked and quad views in dcs . The view would lock up checking your 6. I dont know what the eye tracking option is supposed to work with but with it checked it broke xrneck. With it uncheckef everything works
-
If any of you are using XRToolkit there is a Sunglass option with 3 presets which helps a lot with seeing the HMD. J
-
I know this is an older post but I had the same problem with my Quest Pro. I un checked the eye tracking option but left the quadviews checked on the DCS config screen. Everything is working now quad views and XRnecksaver along with my xrtool kit settings. J

@Lord Vader I just wanted to add to this and I could be doing something wrong so please correct me if that is the case. I used 2 bombers at roughly 38 mile in an orbit. If i goto lhacq while looking at them through the Hud no radar lock if I go back to rws or tws i get a return or a lock within 2 sweeps. With no locks while there in the hud and lhacq and I manuever to get them off to one side off of the hud glass i will eventually get a lock. trac file attached J hmd.trk
