  1. With the setup in my sig I get satisfactory performance in dcs 2.0 but not satisfactory enough, so I want to upgrade either CPU or GPU. I am tempted to go for GPU, do you guys agree that would be the best upgrade to get better performance on dcs 2.0? Thank you for any suggestions.
  2. Same here it is just almost beyond belief what ED has created here. I just came back from my first dogfight in 2.0, Mig-15 versus F-86. Oh man the thrills! It just looks so real it is incredible.. Als just made a flight with a mustang around hoover dam. OMG!! It was dawn, the lights looked amazing and the detail is so sick. You can see the cars driving up to and over the bridge, really truly amazing!! Thank you and congratulations ED!
  3. Affraid so too, otherwise they surely would have waited with the weekend news untill release and announced that instead of "we're close"
  4. Same here, amazing performance. I love it. Checked out the editor yet? If only I had the Sat view in the editor back when I was building missions..
  5. What an epic moment! Thank you ED!
  6. So no advanced radar model? Since it is not listed in the feature list?
  7. Going to try this today, because untill today I have not been able to fly the mig since that update. I actually changed my hardware on that exact same day and it keeps giving fatal errors during activation on startup.
  8. BOOM! Made my day. Thanks again LN!
  9. I have an issue with the activation. I first reinstalled module and did dcs repair. It will ask for activation and it will say activation succesful. But then after pressing OK, I get an "Internal error (error code: 0xC0000005). Close all applications and try again. If this does not help, click "Error report" and send the report to product customer support." Error codes will vary. Then it will ask to activate again and it keeps looping like that untill I press exit. I changed my hardware configuration yesterday so I would have had to reactivate anyways, maybe that has something to do with it?
  10. Finally I gave in to this module today together with the 15. What a great feeling to finally get that over with :P Thank you Aviodev for your devotion in creating this module and giving me the opportunity to poor some money into another module :) Looking forward now to loading it up for the first time.
  11. found this article, might he interesting for some: http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/how-to-win-in-a-dogfight-stories-from-a-pilot-who-flew-1682723379
  12. I also bought it and only have had time to complete 2 missions. I am very positive about Campaign dlc and I dont see any objections in the way they are doing it now. For me not enough of these quality campaigns can be released. Regarding some of the issues reported: -Missiles: I have no issues with missiles, in mission 2 I was able to down 5 enemy aircraft. 3 fixed wing and a helo with missiles and 1 helo with guns. -Wingman Fuel: Your wingman will always try to stay in formation . So consider this when choosing your throttle setting. If you fly full military right after take-off of course he is going into afterburner otherwise he will never keep up. Always consider your wingman when maneuvring. That way he will make it home. Probably the people who regularly fly online already do this automatically.
  13. Many thanks for the draft manual! Now I can finally start studying this great module for real.
  14. All I am wondering about now is whether the tornados picture in Wags' post is a hint towards DCS: Tornado :D I mean all the planes in the shots are flyable or to-be flyable except the tornado. There is no other explanation then this being the first hint running up to a DCS: Tornado announcement. I am open to any counter arguments but I guess you'll all agree that this is irrefutable evidence.
  15. Interceptors need speed, and a lot of it. When you think about an intruder entering your airspace you need to plot an intercept to get to him. But now this intruder is not going to fly a straight line, he is going to maneuver and everytime he changes course, you need to plot a new intercept and fly a lot of extra distance. Slow bombers you can intercept but a fast target is very very hard to intercept. Interceptors were optimized to get to high altitude and speed as fast as possible, intercept, and RTB. The faster the intruders became the less you could rely on inteceptors to defend you airspace. On the other hand to maintain air superiority you need staying power. You need to be able to seal some airspace and do so continously otherwise the enemy can just wait till you leave and then launch his strikes. Air superiority fighter is definitely not a semantics thing in my opinion. Modern military doctrine dictates you want to establish air superiority over an area of operations and an air superiority fighter is optimized for this role. It has staying power, long range own sensors and a lot of air-to-air weaponry and it needs the capability to engage multiple targets at once. Pure air superiority was not really possible with older technology unless you employ huge numbers of aircraft. With modern multirole fighters the difference is in the loadout. Interceptor role loadouts will be lighter, air superioirty/cap will have heavier loadouts with more fuel and weapons but they can be the same airframe.
  16. This is an amazing skin, very good looking. Thank you very much for your work!
  17. Every time one of these sales comes by I ask myself why I bought all these DCS titles at full price.. Waiting gives you much lower price and a better product on date of purchase! But I guess I just cant stop myself doing it. :)
  18. Analog control is an axis, so you can control how fast it moves. Digital is a button press, so on each button press the shkval will move a tad. So for searching in general you would use the analog controls, then for fine adjustments you use the digital inputs.
  19. If you go for such biased poll options why even do a poll. -who says phantom is cool? -who says trainers are lame -who says planes besides the phantom are far flung If you want to measure the facts, stick to the facts. This can only lead to a heavily biased outcome. Abstained from voting ;-)
  20. Indeed, it seems to have become standard practice to put existing modules on sale before the release of new ones.
  21. The blue one is trading altitude for speed and that why he aint stalling? Just thinkin out loud because I notice the difference in VS of the two aircraft. The blue one is going to hit the deck if he doesnt pull up from this still image since his VS = -3000+/min and his AGL is 300m?
  22. Nice surprise! Definite buy for me :) Best of luck with the remainder of the project!
  23. By coincidence I found that the classic sim Eurofighter Typhoon has been released on steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/283350/ Brings back the memories! :joystick:
