  1. I'm with ruggbutt on this one. We were told that it was 40% of hardware. Is ED saying if we reinstall the operating system that uses up an activation too? T
  2. someone say it ain't so. I was hosting a multiplayer mission (playing alone since noone else seems to have it) and then crash. Faulting application lockon.exe, version 1.1.0.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001b9b5. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
  3. 10/10 for me. The whole process was quick. I'm on cable too, I downloaded the game plus the season textures and did my activation in about an hour. Installed it over my current 1.02 and played it just now Btw, where is the wingtip smoke? do smoke markers need to be installed on the plane before it activates? Only one weird problem so far. I played the su-33 mission, sunk the ships and landed on the carrier. During the carrier landing I must have done something searching for the tailhook key because after I landed all my views wouldn't activate. Pressing F1 toggled the cockpit hud, ESC wouldn't work, I didn't notice any stuck keys on the keyboard. After fumbling around a bit I hit something and the computer took over the plane, hit esc and exited.
  4. I was also like were is my serial but I looked at the download page and it was at the bottom. activated and running.
  5. How is it irrelevant? That statement boggles the mind. The lessons from the past show if you bite off more than you can chew your company might go under. If the flight sim market was so good why didnt UBI sign on to it? ED's approach makes a lot of sense. Guarded improvements that is sold for money. A su25t addon, a ka-52 addon, they can make enough money to fund future projects. That's the way to go imho.
  6. look, if there was money in it EA would have found a bunch of developers to improve the source code to janes f-18 which they happen to have locked in a vault somewhere. Maybe you are not fresh on your flight sim history but Falcon4 by Microprose. Died and went under after this sim was made Janes F18 by Janes combat sims. Died and went under after it was made Two of the biggest and best survery sims went under because the ROI was laughable. Even Novalogic stopped making arcade flight sims. Hell razorworks (creator of apache/havoc commanche/hokum) seems have given up flight sims. You can download the source to commanche/hokum on their webpage. Graphsim just keeps rehashing the same old crap from 5 years ago.
  7. well it's not a secret that lomac landings are scripted, other than the high speed landings there isn't much to talk about. In 1.1 with the advanced flight models landings are more realistic. It could explain why landing planes without the AFM aren't.
  8. you realize it's just a game and no actual fuel is flowing through right?
  9. don't land with airbrakes in lomac, your crash rate will go high if you land with brakes. I've noticed this even on the sturdy a-10 which can land anywhere from 170-120knts. I always retract my brakes before I touchdown in lomac. As for landing in lomac in general I'm surprised you are even having problems with it. All the planes are easy to land on a runway. Very easy, I'll say you are just landing at a speed that is too slow.. with airbrakes on. Also remember for the russian aircraft their speed indicators may be in km not knts
  10. it is already out and lock on 1.02 works on it. The reason FC doesn't work on this OS is because the starforce drivers don't support it.
  11. Are you implying that ED has been intentionally doing this? Being a software developer I knew ED wouldn't make the april 5th day. Ask any developer to give you a release date and he'll give you the date he finishes coding, not the day he finishes testing and guess what, april 5th arrives, they test it and whoops last minute bug found. Postponed. It's a good thing too, because they would have gotten much worse had people paid money for it. Customers become especially cranky after the pay for something. But goddammit man, stop giving out specific dates.
  12. lol, didn't I say this in another thread?
  13. not the game silly. The website setup, ordering, distribution delivery
  14. I'll say give it a week after the given date, because the given date is the date they test it
  15. sarcasm is wasted on you
  16. lol and you-know-who once said the internet sales were just a bonus. At 5euros I say those are just a bonus
  17. how did you make tracks with the demo?
  18. I think we can trust that the people who designed to plane knew the best place and direction to launch countermeasures
  19. lol I don't think it matters here anyways. My a-10 skills speak for itself in hyperlobby. I'm just wondering about your idea that the amount of weapons you carry somehow translate into being a good or bad pilot. Whether you carry 18 mavs or you land and reload 18times has nothing to do with skill, nor does flying back and refueling. Some of us aren't interested in doing it the 4-5 times required. Even with the fast su25 after reloading 2-3 times I just get bored with the whole thing and leave. I played coop mission today, from base to target was 173km, took about 15mins of flying in the a-10 to get there and then I have to fly back and reload? and do it all over again?
  20. A stupid and unnecessary personal attack. You bore me with your silliness.
  21. laughable. maybe you should stop playing against the little ones like iglas and strelas. hell most iglas can't even hit an a-10 flying straight and level with no auto flares. Guns on iglas and strelas, mavs on bigger fish.
  22. I dunno what pussy missions you're playing but try taking on a kub site with mavs only. Your average newbie can't even survive a lowly sa6 sam site. If you knew anything about a-10's you would know it's not the amount of weapons you carry. Just because veterans like to carry a large loadout doesn't mean anyone who uses a large loadout is a veteran. Anyone would realize this.
  23. right real fun. fly back to base and rearm 6-10 times during a mission. boring. But for most people it doesn't matter. They go out and get shot down and rearm anyways. Servers that allow modded loadouts have an understanding among players that they are using modded loadouts. If you don't want one, don't join and that's the bottom line
  24. you are complaining because you are an a-10 newbie. A-10 veterans like to carry extra weapons because the targets are too far, too many or they aren't interested in going back to land and reload the 5-6 times required to end the mission. A newbie will get shot down over and over again so it won't matter to him. Most of the people who bother to make a-10 missions are already good at it and don't mind modded loadouts. A newbie will be frustrated watching these elite guys cleaning out the map. If you host and you don't allow modded loadouts then just say so in your hosting text. Personally it depends on the mission. If it's a big missions with lots of sams you can mod your loadout all you want (as long as you don't carry weapons your plane can't carry). You're welcome to use 18mavs because you will be shot down if you suck anyways. If it's a light easy mission then 18mavs is target hogging and will get the boot.
  25. I dunno why they are always cutting it close. It was in Jan, then Feb, then March and now April. Just come say August or Fall. If you release it early then good for you. Anytime a developer gives you a day, you multiply it by two and hope it's earlier than that. Imho the real release date is somewhere in May
