It's not the question to us. We provide publishers with flexible activation system. It's up to them to set as many activations per serial number as they want to. In addition, it's also their decision what to do with the users which reached the limit. And this still remains the only question that remains to be answered. From what you said does this mean that if the activation limit was reached the only way would be to get a new serial (if ED allowed this option?). Because from what you are saying once the starforce protection system hits the limit then you'll need a new key and it's up to ED to give out one or not. Is that correct?

Here is what is going to happen and has happened with other games. The warez people are going to get the game with no starforce or protection and those of us who paid 35$ for it will be stuck with starforce and with the five activation limit. Reminds me of when I bought battlefield 1942 and when you tried it join a game it would spend 10 seconds checking the cd and by the time it was done the server you were trying to join would be full (probably with people who had the no cd crack!). It is a fact that honest people who buy are the ones that suffer through this crap. I'm still buying flaming cliffs tho, 35$ is a good price and I can afford it but I won't hesitate to use a no starforce crack if one becomes available.

fair enough but we should know what happens when the limit is reached. As long as there is a way to not get shut out I'm fine, proof of purchase whatever. And I know ED didn't do starforce but wouldn't it be better if the activation limit was limited to a certain period in time? e.g. 2 automatic activation per month, otherwise you get locked out and have to email or call explaining why? flexible for those of us who are buying but preventing mass piracy at the same time.

sup wags, could you clarify something for me? so what happens when I hit the 3 re-registration limit? game over? maybe it should be reset after a few months that's the way computer upgrades usually goes? I don't mind starforce but with no dedicated server we are back to hosting on the same computer that's playing the game for those of us with home lans

none of this would even be a problem if microsoft put in exe protection in their own damn os. I still can't figure out why they can't make an os where executable files cannot be tampered with.

I'm an a-10 expert but only in lomac. You can kill anything with a gun, even sams and shikras. Your secret weapons are the zoom and trim keys. If you have HOTAS make it available on the stick. Go to max zoom, lead the target if you have to or fly behind it for an easier shot and like everything else it takes practice.

I didn't think I would say this but I can't take all this waiting!!. Everyday I wake up and refresh the 4 flight sims forums and everyday I calm myself so I don't spend my cash on something else 8)

don't bother. I think the Aim54 is all hype and is over modelled in the game. The su27 should be able to outmanuever it easily at least 40km out

The word from ED is "MUM" I just got 70$ in my paypal from a transaction yesterday, I would rather spend it on lomac now than come to my senses and spend it on something else

Re: copy protection this requires a dedicated server and last I check there was no dedicated server hosting by ED. THe only checking only works if the company is prepared to run a lobby type system like EA

ED should speak up. The FUD is spreading and it's not good news for sales. Just come out and say what the protection will be because some of the FUD will just hurt sales

I dunno wtf everyone is complaining about? Have you had any problems with the demo and starforce? you didn't even know it was there. So it runs in ring0, like every other driver you can think of. Running in ring0 isn't a bad thing, except when the driver is buggy. Bewarned though, starforce does not run on 64bit xp (not the demo anyways)

I got an idea. ED should just make it so that the aim120 always kills, the R27 always kills and the R77 always kills. No more complaints

It's not a good attitude to tell other to ignore a mod. If I say "it's by design" it means I've saw a definite answer from developers on this point. I guess I didn't buy the excuse why it was by design. Because you can map trim to anything except the rotaries. I mapped it to the mouse move and other buttons so "hatswitch only" isn't exactly correct, more like anything except rotaries. The reason the excuse is [censored] is because those of us not using external profiler softwares are stuck with one joystick setup for all the planes. If the in game config had different setups for different planes it wouldn't be a problem, but why exclude a perfectly good available rotary for no good reason?
