  1. raise your missile effectiveness slider, the 50% in 1.1 is a bit too ineffective (but it's great for me when stingers and sams respond more to evasive manuevers). But if you're building your own missions or running your campaign why leave it on 50% if it's not good for you?
  2. multiplayer mission bug. If you create a multiplayer mission with no friendlies near the base other players can't join. Maybe it's related to the neutral airfield feature?
  3. su25-t. When you get shot in the wing and it shows the fuel bleeding from the wing the fuel guage drops rapidly! pretty cool, except when you fuel reaches zero it still shows fuel bleeding from the wing. just a little cosmetic bug
  4. Janes F-18 modelled the E, G and F versions of the mav. Lomac models the D and K. The E is special laser guided versions, the F and G have larger warheads. Another thing is the variety of ships in the different sims. In janes you would either engage a destroyer or an OSA (small boat with guns). In lomac it's either destroyer or cargo ship. You cannot engage destroyers in either game with the agm-65, sorry. So you must have been using them on OSAs which aren't in lomac.
  5. lol I disagree! Even though I love the su25 and su25T in the a-10 I just go on a rampage. Infact I don't play the a-10 because most of the time it's too easy to dodge sams. Try dodging a missile in the su25t and the ground would be your best friend before the missile even arrives. The power and agility of the a-10 can dodge sams all day but my observations online is people don't know how to dodge missiles, they don't even use flares when a heater is fired at them.
  6. lol, it is rust! it is dirt! who cares man it's a game
  7. keycommands.doc in the /doc folder
  8. best 35$ I spent this year (and I have spent many a 35$ on stupid shit like webhosting, icons or books). I bought it only because of the su25T and AFM and that's what I fly about 95% of the time. If you're buying it as a patch then it's one expensive patch but what ED is selling is a su25t addon not patch.
  9. call 911 and have them arrest the guy holding the gun to your head forcing you to buy FC
  10. software 101: you don't buy software you license it. Any rights related to that software are to the developer only. You have no right to copy, distribute, modify etc unless the developer gives you express permission to do so. The only issue is whether the terms are fair.
  11. there are some missions that are simply too big to load in a reasonable amount of time. At 8mins the server will probably drop you before you even reach half the loading. Only option is to probably buy more ram
  12. I think ED learned their lesson with the F-15 and A-10, two supposedly very popular airplanes with americans. Fell flat on it's face. F18/F16/F14 it won't matter that much
  13. excellent news if it's true. Infact I decided to go ahead and try a basic automated controller for the game by sending keys to the game. I think I should be able to at least get it to send automated chat messages, quit the game and restart it for networked games. The initial loading still has to be done manually but you could probably get it to automatically restart a ground mission every x hours for example, with ample warning to players if a restart is near (if lomac doesn't crash. but 1.1 is very stable hosting from what I've seen)
  14. Better add mine :) If a dedicated server isn't in the plans (not planes right? :) ) how about a simple shared memory system to automate the game? It's not that difficult to program, you create a shared memory object and a two event objects, one for request notification and the other for result notification, plus one mutex to control access to the shared memory. This way external applications can send simple commands to the game like start/stop/kick high ping user/ or send automated chat messages to players. Simple stuff
  15. yea mine went away, or was greatly reduced when I changed to 2xaa/2af. I noticed it the shimmering with the texture pack installed.
  16. he's right. I have a 5900XT too, 512megs of ram, athlon 64 3000 and I can play or host multiplayer missions with zero problems.
  17. The online problem is not a memory one. You need to reinstall lock on fresh (1.00) and then install the addon. It solved my online game timeout problem (get into a game and realize you are not connected), and the long loading times. Much faster mission loading now.
  18. I don't use too many mods but I haven't noticed any mods that use original or modified files from the game. If I create a skin, it is my skin not a modified skin. What else is there? .lua scripts? .cfg files? I could type my own and not use modified ones.
  19. I think you need to create a mission and set the plane to player. The player option will be enabled if the humancockpit is set to true.
  20. 100Km maybe to far to detect an F16, it needs to get a lot closer before you can pick it up. Also just because you can detect the F16's emissions doesn't mean it can see you. The signals bouncing on your aircraft is not powerful enough to return back to it which is also the explanation for why you can't pick it up if it is too far away.
  21. All it is saying is you cannot take stuff from the game and place it on a website, not stuff you created on your own that can be placed in the game. To be clear, taking one of the default skins and posting it on a website would be a violation, however creating your own skin mod is not.
  22. When a mission is classified the set loadouts cannot be changed on the client side.
  23. You misunderstand why certificates need to be signed by trusted authorities. It is to prove that you say who you say you are. Signing your own certificate is like creating your own ID card, it is worthless. I'll never use my creditcard on a website that has a self signed certificate. Using a certificate from verisign, thwarte, securenet, certisign or whatever is saying to the visitor to your website that your identity has been checked out by a legit thirdparty company and there won't be any popups or questions like the original poster asked about.
  24. verisign isn't the only authorithy that can sign certificates. I just used them as an example. Try browsing your system root trusted certificate store and you'll see more than a hundred valid signers, I doubt that "snake oil" is one of them tho.
  25. who knows, maybe they can use UV and IR detectors to spot the exhaust plume of incoming missiles and feed it into their systems. Considering they already have stuff like EOS it wouldn't surprise me.
