  1. Custom plans, plywood, and memory foam!
  2. I'm kinda curious why your asking for PC advise on a DCS forum when DCS isn't even in your game list...
  3. Def go at least 32GB RAM. Yes 64 is better for multiplayer but 32 will work fine. As for GPU, the 3060 will be fine for 1080p but it's not going to handle 1440p well. If I were you, I'd be watching ebay to pick up an EVGA 3060Ti. Their warranty will transfer and right now you can find them for the price of a new 3060 12GB. It's a much better card closer in performance to the 3070 than the 3060 12GB. Good luck with the new build.
  4. Tangible, no. Observable, yes. The 3070Ti has more working cuda cores and faster VRAM.
  5. You should be looking at team red if you want lots of vram and 1080p performance. AMD does better than Nvidia in most cases at 1080p, if I were you I would be looking at the 6800/6800XT. Also remember your frame buffer will be storing textures at 1080p resolution so having a lot of vram isn't going to be as necessary as someone storing textures at 4k resolution.
  6. It's defaulted to use DCS bios but can be changed if you want to use it to directly bind. I've got their F14 display panel and its been great. Check out the description on tek creations website. Glws OP.
  7. You said it...blasphemy! If you know you are going to stick with 1080p why would you even consider wasting money and electricity (since you mentioned it as a cost issue) on a 3090! Look at some benchmarks, the 3090 doesn't scale well at all in 1080p.
  8. You need to update the specs in your signature.
  9. 2560x1440p is definitely pushing it with a 1070 non Ti. What type of monitor are you currently using? If it were me I would hold off on a monitor upgrade until I was ready for a GPU upgrade. 34" in 1080 resolution is probably not going to look great, you'll most likely be able to see the pixels at that size.
  10. RTX3070 would be the better purchase, 3060 in the majority of circumstances will not be able to fill that large of a frame buffer so the extra VRAM is pretty pointless.
  11. Happens in multiplayer mission, haven't checked single player. I can grab some screen caps later
  12. Looks like a solid build to me, I don't think you'll have any issue getting the performance you're looking for.
  13. I would try shadows to low and bump MSAA to 4x or SSAA to on and see what the trade off is. I don't notice much difference between low and high shadows, but I definitely notice the jaggies.
  14. If I equip a loadout that doesn't utilized the Phoenix pylons such as 6 sparrows 2 sidewinders. If I later try to equip Phoenix the pylons won't load/animate. The Phoenix will just float. Same if I trying equipping bombs, the adapter pylons will be there but not the Phoenix pylons/front fairing.
  15. If you are playing in multiplayer servers it will certainly help.
  16. Yeah it's the G-Skill Trident Z so it has heat spreaders
  17. That's not how it works with aircrafts. It's not like an old car where they just fix things as they break. Aircrafts have regular inspections where they are taken apart thoroughly inspected, wings x-ray'd and parts replaced when they are out of spec. How do you think there are trainers like the T38 made in the 60/70's still being used today.
  18. Issue was the two top 140mm AIO fans doubling as exhaust fans were set too slow. CPU didn't need them fast but RAM definitely does especial with the 3080Ti dumping all that heat into the case. Ended up connecting them to my manual fan controller. When gaming I just jack them all the way up.
  19. The RX 6600 is almost double the relative performance as your 1650 with double the VRAM and GDDR6 as well. It would be quite the upgrade for you and should run 1080p quite well. Prior to my system upgrade I was running a 1070Ti which is very similar in performance to the 6600. I was able to run MSAA 2x SSAA off.
  20. Don't expect the XMP profile to work with two separate kits, I learned that the hard way myself. Hopefully you get lucky.
  21. Not worth it, wait for the next gen GPU's to release later this year. Maybe the 4060 will make more sense, or you could look at a second hand 3080.
  22. CONCLUSION: If anyone is still following this, I finally found out what my issue was. My RAM was getting too hot causing the XMP OC to become unstable. Every Time RAM temps reached >59C I would run into a CTD. With XMP disabled, memory would still run hot reaching 60C while gaming, but it will only crash at those temps when XMP is enabled. Now the question is, why is my RAM running so hot!
  23. Just checked and i already have it set to high performance.
  24. Well thought I'd post an update, this problem still plagues me and its not a DCS issue. I'm having CDT in all games and i cannot figure what the problem is. I've even swapped GPU's with someone else to rule that out, problem remains. If any of you have any idea's I'd def appreciate it!
