  1. Like everyone said 32GB RAM minimum. I would start with 16GB X2 that way you have room to expand it to 16GB x4 in the future if you need it.
  2. Nope 550 watt wont cut it. I'm sure it will work, but it will be over spec and cause premature failure to your PSU.
  3. Lol it must be annoying to be HB, "we need more, we need more", "hey this module takes up way too much space". Storage is cheap, I'll take the higher quality textures at the expense of a few extra gb any day.
  4. Though it's unlikely the 3060 would be able to fill that big of a frame buffer in most cases. Don't know what nvidia is thinking with their VRAM allotments as of late. IMHO 3060/ti should be 8GB, 3070: 10GB, 3070ti/3080 12GB, 3080ti: 16GB
  5. No way you're thermal throttling at 70c unless something is wrong with your card or driver.
  6. My VRAM always shows 99% usage while playing DCS.
  7. Track IR is a must, there are DIY methods as well with free software called opentrack. Check it out, lot cheaper than track IR's all in one kit.
  8. I'm not even using a 4k panel and I use 2x MSAA. 4x gives me to many dips in FPS. I play 99% multiplayer though so maybe single player would be different.
  9. They are so close the only time that would be true is if you were comparing an AIB 3080Ti like a FTW3 or STRIX card vs an FE 3090 due to the increased power limits. If you're comparing AIB vs AIB or FE vs FE 3090 wins every time.
  10. Probably firmware like others have mentioned but I would just double check the connections between the base, extension, and grip are all good. While putting together my VKB I didn't seat the grip all the way into the base and thought it was a software thing for a bit before discovering the issue.
  11. Hah that is no joke, doesn't help that my PC is already in the hottest room of the house.
  12. If you are in the US and have a Microcenter near by that will be your best bet getting a new GPU. Otherwise I would recommend subbing to a GPU stock alert discord channel so you can be notified right away when Best Buy is dropping. I was able to get my current GPU at Microcenter, and I was able to score a 3080 for my brother on a Best Buy drop (online website not in store).
  13. That 960 is definitely long in the tooth and sits just above the minimum specs for low graphic settings for DCS 2.7. If you're going to stick with 1920x1080p, Id look into a second hand GTX 1070Ti or RTX 2060 super. Both will handle 1080p at mostly high settings quite well. I had a 1070Ti when I was still using a 1080p panel and it performed very well.
  14. Definitely upgrade your GPU if you're running that resolution, I'd say 3070 or 6800 minimum.
  15. I agree with Bossco, waste of money, spend the money elsewhere for sure.
  16. Do you know what the native resolution of your monitor is?
  17. I average 80-90 FPS in single player and 50-70 in multiplayer. 3080Ti with 3440x1440p display. My settings are almost the same as yours, I have shadows and heat blur to low, water high, SSLR on, clouds ultra.
  18. Yeah that probably makes more sense, as "sticky" as the F14 is right now compared to the hornet, I've never had a problem getting it around the carrier.
  19. The "sticky" ground movement was necessary when the module was first being developed to address issues with it not staying on a moving carrier. These issues have been addressed by ED as more carrier based modules have come out. HB hinted they are nearing completion of the revamped ground physics, can't remember what thread but hopefully it will be soon
  20. Building your own is so much fun and you can ensure it's done right. I recommend at least viewing a PC build video to see if it's something you think you can do. The amount of prebuilt reviews I've seen, the good prebuilts seem to be very hard to come across.
  21. Great build with plenty of expansion room. Good luck with the custom loop, I haven't worked up the courage to do one yet but have the itch!
  22. This is the issue I have. When I settle between +/-200FPM ref light will go out but will then pitch down, once I get -1000fpm light comes back on. They said it's a wip, so we'll see what happens with the next update.
  23. It's not ideal, but it all depends on what you find acceptable. Have you tried it out yet to see how it performs and what graphic settings you have to compromise? What is your display resolution?
  24. Interesting, do you have a friend that can test the GPU in his system to rule that out?
