Weird, DCS has always filled up my VRAM to 95% on my old 1070Ti and same with my current card. Never had any if the issues you described.

If your plan is to upgrade your VR id say just hold out till the 40xx series if you can. VR is demanding enough in it's current generation, once the newer generations with higher resolutions come out you will need some serious GPU power to push all those pixels.

Does it use a built in camera with an infrared 3 point LED headset? If so just download open track for free and use it. Been using it for over a year without any problems.

I'd say some lumber and plywood from your local hardware store is the way to go. Far cheaper and infinitely customizable.

When I do this exact procedure at high altitude as soon as I press NWS, Amber light goes out but plane pitches down, exceeds 500ft/min decent, amber light comes back on.

Multiplayer and single player, no error messages.

So i've been using SS flawlessly for almost a year now, but seemly out of the blue it stops working about 5-10 minutes into the game. Closing a re-opening the program doesn't fix it either, i have to leave server and rejoin in order for it to work again. Any ideas what is going on?

I think you meant to reply to the OP, not me. I've seen that same video and was referencing that mod in my post.

As Burt said, 96-100C is supposed to be within spec for DDR6X memory. That being said it would definitely make me nervous what those temps will do to the lifespan of the modules. For contrast my hottest memory module sits around 67C at load. I've seen some mods that have dramatically reduced the VRAM temps on the back of the 3090FE, which include better thermal pads like you said (proper thickness being most important) and also adding small heatsinks to the top of the backplate over where the memory sits. Though that kind of ruins the clean look of the FE card.

F14 hook not working in DCS BIOS with last update, anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah definitely a lot of data to transfer. Would be very cool if they could. I'd love to see the liveries others have come up with. I know a lot of ppl are running their own liveries, it's obvious in the F18 when someone is.

Yes I understand how it currently works, my point was that they devise a solution were that wasn't the case. Perhaps custom skins could be uploaded to the server when a player joins and recalled from there. I recall a racing sim that has such a mod.

I think a cool solution at least for multiplayer would be too have a way of others on the server to see your custom skin/livery. My squadron flys with our own liveries and unique modex numbers. Not realistic in the sense that we made up our own squadron, but at least it would solve the duplicate modex numbers on deck. I have to use my call sign for radio call outs instead of tail number to eliminate confusion. I see one number since I'm running custom livery but everyone else see's VF-103 livery

They haven't implemented wheel chocks for the F14 yet. I'm assuming it will come with the new ground rolling physics.

Yup I'm running VoiceAttack too, glad I'm not the only one with this issue.

This is a first for me, can't pass IntegrityCheck in multiplayer, failed files are: mods/aircraft/f14/cockpit/scripts/jesterai/init.lua mods/aircraft/f14/cockpit/scripts/jesterai/jesterai_page.lua After running DCS repair I was able to get into a server, I then left and tried to come back in and got IntegrityCheck fail again. At that point I uninstalled the F14 module and reinstalled. Again I was able to get into a multiplayer server, but upon leaving and trying to come back in, I get the check fail again. Any idea what's going on here?

Well depends on what FPS are acceptable to you, 1070Ti and 1080 are very close in performance, I didn't run SSAA because FPS was to low. Id say wait for a more modern architecture. 3060 or 3060Ti would be about perfect for 1080p.

Hmm to me that's like taking a fully clickable cockpit and downgrading it to an FC3 experience. Doesn't break your immersion?

I don't get it, are you basically programming a single keystroke to performer multiple tasks?

SSAA and MSAA in general are FPS killers. When I had my 1070Ti I basically had to choose between jaggies or FPS. I notice low FPS way more than jaggies. Don't get me wrong they are noticeable when in F2 view or on the carrier but while in the cockpit I won't notice jaggies as much as a low frame count. Even with my current setup if I run full SSAA and 4X MSAA my FPS in multiplayer is in the 40-50 range on the ground, though in 1440p jaggies are less noticable. I currently run SSAA on and MSAA at 2x. Have you tried leaving SSAA off and just running 2x MSAA? I believe that's what I settled on with the 1070Ti.
