  1. SSAA and MSAA in general are FPS killers. When I had my 1070Ti I basically had to choose between jaggies or FPS. I notice low FPS way more than jaggies. Don't get me wrong they are noticeable when in F2 view or on the carrier but while in the cockpit I won't notice jaggies as much as a low frame count. Even with my current setup if I run full SSAA and 4X MSAA my FPS in multiplayer is in the 40-50 range on the ground, though in 1440p jaggies are less noticable. I currently run SSAA on and MSAA at 2x. Have you tried leaving SSAA off and just running 2x MSAA? I believe that's what I settled on with the 1070Ti.
  2. One change I would make is go with a 16GB x2 RAM kit so you can easily upgrade to 64GB in the future by adding two more sticks.
  3. I get what you're saying and I agree but you can't saying they are the same minus the VRAM, 3090 does have 256 more working CUDA cores. It's interesting though, userbenchmark.com is showing the 3080Ti as the number 1 GPU now by a slim margin. I believe that's based on on an aggregate of user data.
  4. Wow impressive FPS at that resolution! My CPU I think is def bottlenecking me. Never intended on getting a 3080Ti when I first started building my rig but the stars kind of just aligned. Enjoy that beast of a rig man!
  5. Nice, what resolution are you running it on?
  6. Interesting, like LucShep said, its probably the VRAM making the difference. My old 1070Ti wasn't much faster than a 1660 super but it did have 8GB of VRAM.
  7. Every comparison I've seen shows 3-8 FPS increase between the two, not worth it at all imo. What AA settings are you using? You should be able to get better FPS than that. I was running an i5 3570k with a 1070Ti not too long ago and it gave me better FPS at 1080p than what you're getting.
  8. Dang man, if you're coming from the FSX F-14 to this, it will knock your socks off.
  9. No they're not running all high settings if they want playable fps at that resolution. I'm at 3440x1440 MSAA 2x, shadows low, visib range ultra (extreme is highest) and I get 45-60 FPS on the ground on Marianas (multiplayer), 85+ at altitude.
  10. Guess it would depend heavily on what resolution you're talking about.
  11. Need display resolution for FPS reference.
  12. I've lost stores when taking a hit before. Took an archer once and survived, but saw that I had one external fuel tank missing and most stores were gone too.
  13. That's one of my favorite configurations
  14. Can't stand the click bait that dude produces. Go to Gamers Nexus or Hardware Unboxed if you want legit tech news and not just speculation.
  15. Nice, keep at, it's one the most difficult modules to master but the most rewarding!
  16. Can't answer your question but how do I find a RIO like you!
  17. Like others said if you can get a 3080 at MSRP it's the much better value option, at least here in the US ($850 vs $1400 for 7% performance difference). That being said I upgraded from a 3070 to 3080 Ti and it should def give you an extra 15-20 frames in DCS over the 3070 with setting the same. Still not as big of an improvement as I was hoping for. DCS is still terribly optimized so basically it let me dial up some of the setting while still getting an addition 5-10 FPS.
  18. Awesome gains, how'd you nab a 3060Ti, they are quite hard to find!
  19. For 32" 16:9 1800R, 1500R max. For 28" 16:9 flat or 1800R
  20. If you're still running a Kepler card as your signature indicates I would strongly recommend upgrading hardware first. 780Ti is not going to run a 1440p monitor in game at a reasonable fps. The 3GB frame buffer alone will kneecap you. Also like others said, downscaling resolution from native degrades the picture quality considerably. If you've got your mind set on a monitor upgrade now then I'd just expect to run it downscaled to 1080p and deal with the picture quality until you upgrade your hardware. Edit, curve is not really necessary unless your are going ultrawide. But if you decide to go with a 32" 16:9 I'd go for the curve, feels more emersive to me.
  21. Did you ever get this sorted out? You should have gotten an email with keys for each module. You then have to activate them one by one. Downloading the software is free, you just can't use it until you register the keys.
  22. I specifically don't click his videos because of the obvious clickbait!
  23. Yep, one of my favorite details.
