Mate, you can't really compare the LO aircraft to a DCS aircraft. So every request wether for a fixed wing of any type or a helicopter is kinda valid. :smartass:

Have you maybe forgot to upload the DTS-data at startup?

[Poll] CCRP, CCIP, or CCIP-CR? and a question
Laud replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I voted CCIP. Reason: While training CCIP approaches according to the Z-Diagrams from the Hawgsmoke.pdf it turned out to be pretty demanding in respect to precise flying. Once you come to the point where you manage to do propper 45° Dive Bomb attacks from 9.500' AGL (90° Roll-In, meeting all requested parameters (base alt, checkpoint alt, release alt, safe escape alt, speed) , hours of training pay off with a really pleasing feeling. Another thing is the good precision, once propper executed. And it's of course way more fun to work the aircraft and systems, instead of dropping bombs from level flight... ;) -
Should be in your install directory in the doc-folder.

It would also be nice to have a list of SADL-capable units. Could someone from the "inner circle" provide something like that?
-
You mentioned the F-35: IIRC it's mentioned to be some kind of a mock-up or something?
-
LOL! On fire... Really gives me a big smile, reading your post! Have fun and I'm sure you'll find a squadron which meets your demands. About the TIR: I like the Clip better.

But according to the Spangdahlem AB website, there's only gonna be F-16 and A-10 flying display!??

At day it's a 737, but at full moon it becomes an evil Warthog... :) -
Kinda advantageous... ;) Welcome mate!

Did you notice that the previewed chart is a Visual Approach/Departure Chart? ;)
-
OK guys, here's a preview for you:

I recently read an article at Aviation Week. He may be referring to the Silent Eagle Project. There is a F-35-like cockpit display planned.

The good thing on practicing AR is that you practice formation flight at the same time! :) -
Kinda, yes! ;) We already create missions, that are focused on 2-Ship engagements (for our squadron-trainings). And just because you want to avoid any kind of furball, you have to build about 6 target areas / areas of operation, each with their own units, triggers and timings. In case you want to have 2 2-Ships operate the same area, just not at the same time, you could add a tanker and let the first element refuel on RTB and the second one on ingress. But whatever, it remains fact that a full MP-capable 2-seater would half the neccessary efforts.
-
For me the dying engines issue sounds like a throttle-lever mapping problem, rather than a technical problem in-game.
-
Well, yes, I sorta forgot the 2-seater-factor!

But here is a point where Squadrons and Single-Player have a different perspective on the requirements they want to see met: While the F-15E would be the by far best choice for a Single-Player, the F-16 or F/A-18 would be preferable. And thats for the same reason for both: Payload! It's all about mission-design: When you have to provide missions for a squadron with 10-16 active pilots, you have to put a sh!t lot of targets and triggers and appropriate timings into it. The less capable a single aircraft is, the less work you have to put into your mission-design. So while I really like the Mudhen, I think it would be healthier for my spare time to hope for a Viper or a Hornet. ;)

I know some are just curious what it might be, for no special reason. Me, I'm curios what it will be, because the answer will have more or less an impact on how our squadron will be run the following years. We could, for example figure out, who would want to change to that new AC and who would stay with the Hog. And that is a key-question, to plan future works and activities.

Why not? The tanker doesn't perform a 6g turn... -
It's a typo! It should read: "I wish the Air Force has lowered Pilot Standards!" ;)
-
Map the "W"-key on one of your HOTAS buttons, so it works as a toggle. Push first -> hold "W" Push second -> release "W". That makes your simulation more advanced than the actual aircraft! ;)

What I agree on is, that the manual leaves a lot of open questions for the user, no matter how experienced. What I do not agree on is the thread-title. Once you decide to dive into a topic like military aviation, or even aviation in general, you'll have to look up some technical terms here and there. That's simply as it is. :smartass: But feel absolutely free to ask your questions here. As seen in the posts above you'll most likely get an answer.
