Wondering it that's a glitch, he was only carrying one pod, or intentional design feature. Russians did just enough weird stuff I wouldn't be surprised if they only carried tracer in one of the pods, that or if it's normal to only carry one pod. I would imagine they would carry them on both sides to equalize weight.

@Flappie's solution worked, only with DDU though. If you're having a similar problem @Sile I'd really recommend you do the same thing.

And a third attempt for good measure, where I unplugged my rudder pedals. They're the only new factor I can reasonably think of that could be causing the issue so I figured it was worth a shot. dcs.log-20210610-005049.zip

The reinstall in a new location had no effect, I've attempted joining two servers. It admittedly did something odd this time around, where I made it to the aircraft select screen, then it crashed. I was not really given any time to select an aircraft before the crash, but it did make it further for some reason. I'll post both logs, and start working on @Flappie's suggested fix. Also this is somewhat similar to my issue: I'm able to play Singleplayer fine I was able to join ONE SERVER after the issue started, but haven't been able to replicate it Issue persists across missions Attached is the log file for the second crash dcs.log-20210610-004119.zip And the first crash. dcs.log-20210610-003831.zip

I appreciate the comment, but I've already tried setting my page file to no avail. EDIT: Rather, I had set my page file before, and it had no effect, still finishing up the reinstall and trying it now, will keep up to date.

Howdy - thanks, if this issue persists I'll let you know, but I decided to use this as an excuse to move my DCS to another drive, so it's reinstalling right now. I'd like to keep the threat open though until the reinstall is finished and game tested with a graphics driver update/reinstall

Howdy! Uncertain what it is, and it feels almost random. Some servers I can join, others I can't. Always happen when the text at the bottom says Net Sim Post Start. I've got the .zip the crash thing directed me to in explorer, and I'll attach it here. No mods, no changes, I was able to connect to servers not too long ago, maybe a week, then I came back today and I've found I'm unable to connect servers. dcs.log-20210609-052300.zip

I'd imagine it isn't a huge stretch for the pilots to wear night vision goggles. Night vision integrated into the systems is an obvious no, but goggles for the pilot I'd think is reasonable

I didn't even know until the module page said it was getting Atakas that a hind could use them lol

Well the date is still there. I don't remember rightly how they did it with the Viper in terms of how long before they said "we're changing it btw", which is the only frame of reference I have on this in particular. I would like to imagine that they would have said something in the newsletter about it, but who knows, ED might not care all that much about the steam side of the sales, I'd imagine they prefer their independent website and all to make sure they get to all of their slice of the money rather than having to give some up to steam. tl;dr: they didn't say anything friday, but they probably don't care all that much

Good to know, hopefully it stays right there.

What discord, if I could ask?

certainly wouldn't mind a sooner than later release date! i was expecting a late june early july release, but with wags being allowed to drop videos on the regular (I know he doesn't know) I have bumped my expectations up a bit to early to mid june
-
Well, no update on a release. They didn't say anything about the currently projected one despite only being 3 days away, but surely we'll have a smaller announcement about that soon.
-
No way to know for certain. I imagine we're going to hear something Friday to either confirm or deny the 31st release date. I'm hopeful, but I have to imagine there will be a denial, and I don't know about that 27th date, I haven't seen that anywhere until right now.

So a question, not about all the controls I need to be binding as obviously we don't know yet, but it's about this: The hind has a collective and throttle. In the Huey, which I have the most experience in, the throttle is only messed with during startup before being maxed out and left to sit, but what about in the Hind? Will I need to have another axis control for it bound, or will it be similar in that I don't really need to touch it in flight? I guess we can also use this thread to talk about any unusual quirks about the Hind's collective and throttle management in general, but if the mods want me to I can start another thread for that.
-
It's never certain, I guess. If he says he isn't aware of it then it probably isn't going to happen, like it said in my other post the time they had "promised" was a rather informal reddit post environment, so not set in stone.
-
I think it depends on how quickly wags starts posting the videos, really. Obviously he doesn't know for certain, but if it's in a state that he is able to release videos about all the systems and their functions then it means the hind is either very, very close to completion or already in a good EA state.
-
Possibly, but I've got a good feeling for June.
-
Surely we'll be getting it relatively soon with this, though I guess it depends on how often Wags posts. If one were to use the last ED module the F-16 as a basis he posted the introduction video in May of 2019, then it didn't come out until October of the same year, which would be both unfortunate and unlikely. Atleast I really hope unlikely.

Seems pretty clear, was the COO who said it even. I will say there is always a chance, though, that this will not be the case. This comment was made a year ago, and in a rather informal setting. Overall the chances say they will release it early to reviewers unless they are planning on making it a big reveal, but you never know for sure in the end. I'm split between holding my breath each week to hear an announcement and fully expecting it to not come out until mid-late June, possibly even early July, but the amount of good progress we'd been hearing just before they went quiet makes me hopeful, and attention was taken away with the 2.7.1 update.

I know it's not going to be an invulnerable, literal flying tank, but I've always heard "resistant to 12.7mm from all angles" when people refer to it. Obviously a difference between resistant and immune. I don't expect it to be immune to anything, I'm anticipating Hinds are going to be dying like frogs in a blender at the start of their release, but how capable is it going to be of actually flexing that renowed "resistance" to enemy fire and limping home rather than just dropping out of the sky at the first few rounds.
-
As it says in the topic, how tough is the Hind going to be in game? I know they are planning on releasing a more basic damage model on release, but I was wondering how much the hind's ability to resist damage is going to be simulated. Obviously not expecting it to be able to shrug off everything, but is a stinger going to be a one shot? Will a single ZSU round put us out of commission? Will we be actually resistant to 12.7 MG rounds? Obviously taking cannon rounds or MANPAD hits is likely going to force a landing or an RTB, it's more a question of is the model actually going to be representing the fact that the Hind could shrug some of this punishment off.

Also to answer it, to my understanding the Mi-24P isn't coming with a more advanced RWR because that's simply what it got. Within the Soviet Union and the time frame of the Mi-24P we're looking at for this module, the Mi-24P only got the SPO-10. Export versions got a different RWR, and some of the nations that got them installed different RWRs, but the Soviet Mi-24P got the SPO-10 because that's what they had and it didn't need anything better. It tells you the basic information you need, which direction the enemy is hitting you with radar, and if you're being locked, and from what I can tell you can distinguish roughly what kinds of radar are beaming you based on the pulses and tones, but I'm not sure of that.
-
So question, does anyone actually have any documentation on how to use the SPO-10's beeps to be able to distinguish radar types? I've definitely noticed that it will beep in patterns and with different tones, but haven't been able to find documentation explaining how to distinguish it. Also, since everyone is bitching about it, what F-16 "Fantasy" loadouts?
