  1. I'll slap a mission together and turn my replays on tomorrow or the day after.
  2. I have a consistent, easily reproduced issue with Petrovich engaging targets that are sitting on a hill top and you are engaging from a position of being level with the target. When engaging from that position, very roughly diagramed here, Petrovich has consistently had a 0% hit rate. If the target were to move off and onto the slope, it will return to a "normal" hit rate, but aslong as the target is sitting at the top of the hill Petrovich cannot hit the target with any consistency. I'm sure it is possible, but it would be from blind luck rather than Petrovich's skill. Experiences may be different for other people, but I've tested it with an 8 atgm load and have had all 8 miss the target.
  3. Think we won't be getting either before the apache, though I think they'll keep a dedicated team to the Mi-24 atleast partially. My thoughts still stand on we're going to get the R-60 last because they're working on a whole new system for it rather than changing some variables in existing code and reusing models.
  4. Just thought it might be a fun discussion. Anyone have any thoughts? Obviously they're going to be focusing on frantically dashing around and crushing bugs with lead boots before they add any of the bigger promised things like the KORD, new weapons, etc. I'm gambling on the Ataka will be here first, unless they have an independent team working on making infrared missiles track ground targets. Ataka would just be comparatively easier to add in, given it's essentially just the same missile with higher performance specifications of range, penetration/damage, speed, etc. R-60 on the other hand requires some kind of modification to the Hind itself from what I've read, and they are waiting on a whole new system of having infrared missiles tracking ground targets. Though I will say that I'm wishing for the R-60 a bit more, I've had so many times where planes go practically suicidal to engage helicopters for free kills, plenty even get within the arc of fire for the cannon just to take pot shots.
  5. Reading through Chuck's Mi-24 guide, it recommends having the "Free Turbine Speed Trim UP/DOWN" bound, but whats the real point of it? I don't understand the guide fully on this topic. It says to bind them and what it does, but doesn't elaborate on what situations we would actually use this switch for.
  6. I dislike how they look aesthetically but acknowledge they probably increase survival rates a good bit
  7. I was wondering, what does this system actually do? All I know about it is to flip the switch to on as part of my cold start procedure, but with no complete manual I have no idea
  8. Actually I stand self corrected, I found this image while looking for reference images if anyone wanted confirmation. It might be a more modern variation again, as the image is particularly modern looking as if from a digital camera, and I definitely don't recognize the paint job, but it's not a modern Mi-35 since it still has the full size winglets.
  9. Our best bet is to look at the Su-25 for sure. It's got the same gun sight system, but to my understanding the Su-25 doesn't have the same weapon selector system. It will probably be something under the "Missile" setting, but it obviously can't overwrite it, unless it takes away the capability to fire Shturms in real life. If I had to guess probably something similar to @flo57100's description? The immediate thought for me would be that with the sight doors open when you're on "MSL" you're getting tones for the Shturm, with the sight doors closed tone for the R-60. Also as best I can tell they use the inner pylons. What looking around I've done the outer pylons only support Shturm/Ataka missiles. In some good news there ARE pictures of the r-60s in the double racks like we see on the Mig-21 strapped to the Hind, but the most pictures I see for them attached to a Hind are single missiles on inner pylons. Though the double pylon one I've only seen one image of, and it was of just the winglet of a hind, so it might have been on a more modern variation.
  10. I found it pretty easy to just slap an mi-24 down on a mission and scatter some HMMVs in a pretty obvious spot. Also biggest thing I can say on the sync issues, do a full cold start without the other person in the front, including telling Petrovich to turn on weapons. Aswell, if you end up in with the constant launch tone, just ask your buddy to turn the missile selector knob to no have a missile selected. If it persists, just have him open the doors, go into the sight, and manually align and unalign it from the launch zone before backing out of it. You're also better off just having the counter measures bound as the pilot. I had it go in such a way that he was firing off flares that I couldn't see, but he could always see it if I fired them off myself, so better safe than dead at the hands of a stinger on that front.
  11. I was, that's my only experience with the SPO-10 RWR. Kind of a shame it doesn't get that as it makes it...Questionable if you can really use the thing in a busy airspace, but that's just part of flying relatively older soviet equipment I guess lol.
  12. I thought the SPO-10 had an "OH GOD" tone where all lights went solid and we got a constant beep?
  13. I wanna be clear that literally none of the options given work in most multiplayer scenarios. You cannot use the buttons or keybinds in the front seat from the pilot seat, including the suggestion of physically moving my camera into the operator cockpit. SOME multiplayer servers allow you to, to my understanding, but not the ones I play on, so I'm saying they need to have petrovich atleast turn the switches for the countermeasures on.
  14. As the title says. For some reason recently, when launching DCS, it will pull up the splash card that says DCS World in the small black box at the center of my screen, and then it will take upwards of four minutes to actually launch the game. I've tried repairing it, restarting PC, etc, all the very basic stuff, it's just acting strange. I'm uncertain if I could pull any logs that could help track the issue down, but if anyone knows where I could then tell me by all means. It's not a game breaking bug, but it's definitely annoying.
  15. Both really want and need Petrovich to be able to set up the countermeasures on his own - it makes solo-flying in multiplayer a bit of a pain because you NEED a buddy just to turn on your dispensers.
  16. It's more an issue of I want to figure it out without petrovich. I have a buddy who's really interested in doing the operator seat while I fly, so I want to be able to set up the sight without AI assistance.
  17. I've been having some pretty big issues with it even over level terrain, for some reason it lands extremely long consistently. Not sure if I'm setting the sight up wrong (Gunner seat - Main Safety - USR Switch up - Gun sight on - AUTO - ASYNC - Automatic Range).
  18. I've not been able to test it yet, but this makes sense as being a possible sync issue with the operator's seat acting as if the RPM isn't turned up to full, which in turn means the generators aren't running. That fits extremely well with me having to flip on DC power for his electronics to turn on. We might want to merge this with the desync thread, that or we can wait and I will test it a bit more thoroughly to confirm it later today
  19. So possibly a pilot-gunner desync issue. I plan on going back up with him today armed with the re-slotting trick @JNelson said, but we'll do a run or two first and watch for RPM discrepancies.
  20. As requested. An incident of it I am certain of, is roughly in the 04:37-39 period when I am making my rough runway landing, during one of the cycles of raising and lowering my gear the front cockpit lost power. We then respawned uncertain as to what was causing it, during an uncertain time during the next flight his cockpit turned off, and sometime between 04:40-05:05 the discovery was made about turning the Battery Power switch to on. I know it was roughly by that end period as it was what encouraged me to make my turn in back towards the targets laid out as he had been trying to get ATGMs to launch. 21. Having consistent issues with the Operator/Gunner's entire cockpit losing power. Only resolution I've found so far has been to turn on Battery Power midflight, which is vague if it should be left on during flight. Manual says to turn it on, but not to turn if back off during a cold start, but Wag's video says to turn it off, and it is turned off during a hotstart spawn. it is unclear what triggers the initial loss of power, despite spending well over an hour trying to find a correlation during ATGM practice runs, my friend and I can only chock it up to it being almost random when it will kick off. It only effects him, and while I have other issues to possibly report, I don't know if they are because of this electrical issue or not. What has made it even more unclear to me is that we went two full flights having the time of our lives, with no issues, before this suddenly started, and we started trying to recreate it for a bug report.
  22. Still says 16th for me over here in CST, but unless Eagle Dynamics is about to spoil us we're probably not getting it this week. also they changed the steam release date when it said the 31st of May AFTER it was "released" on steam lol
  23. i imagine he's going to have a level of spotting, but frankly i don't want him to have a crazy high level of spotting. I don't want to lean on the AI to find targets for me.
  24. Understood, eagerly waiting for that video and the rumored confirmation or denial on Monday of that 16th date.
  25. I agree that I hope he's able to do some of the more niche startup commands, like setting up the switch he mentioned when carrying pods and bombs at the same time. Specifically just to make multiplayer a bit more paletteable, but I would imagine that particular switch is of such importance he should be able to do it.
