Maybe it's too early to answer the question, but how could we make an artillery shot at a target that is far from sight? I mean calculate the azimut and elevation of the shot to it hits the target precisely ? Should we have a calculator on our desk to calculate the elevation according to distance, wind, and altitude difference ?

Any plans for a sale price on Black Shark 2?
xjiks replied to Mohamengina's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Wait for the Steam Sales, it worth it. But of course you can't know in advance when the sales start and if bs2 will have a discount. -
What about spectator mode ? Can't we just be the spectator if we don't own the module ?
-
Well I assume this would be a "free" addon for those who bought the BETA version of DCS Warthog because this was already possible to drive the ground units, until ED decided to remove the feature in the release version, like the NEVADA map? Next module: DCS:Wheels ED: "sorry guys we had to remove the wheels of your favorite A10C Warthog; stay tuned for a future soon ® module DCS:Wheels for 30$ until then you can no longer drive on parking area" whoops i forgot the smiley :music_whistling:

DCWorld with all the modules will always be smaller than having each game installed on its own
-
Maybe an icon with a KA50/A10/P51 to indicate what type of playable units are available on the server.

Ah.... ok well I didn't played with the latest A10C patch.... I thought it was new :music_whistling:

From what I understood you need to activate at least one of the module (BS2/A10/P51) to enable the "online" side of the game. Once you activate one of the module you can host a MP game with any of the "playable" aircrafts. Each player connecting to the server can only fly the ones they paid (according to the mission and available slots) Just my thoughts ....

The buildings in the map view of the editor is now very accurate to the actual building placement when in game ! It will be now easier to place an igla on a roof than with DCSA10 :music_whistling::thumbup: That's great !

I see lot of people think ED is punishing them because they have to pay for the new map, but this people should revert their mind and consider ED is making a "gift" to the ones who pre-ordered the A10C ! Personnaly, I preordered the game, and the game at that time of the beta was including the Nevada. I preordered the "package" so I request to have what I payed for. Users would have set the forum on fire if we would have to pay again the Nevada. People who just bought the final game, knew there would be no Nevada included and they would have to give extra money for it.

I didn't watch the video, but insulting people on the forum is forbidden, also raging about players is the same. Post will be closed soon by a moderator...:music_whistling:

Simple Two Page Start-Up Guide and Mission Data Card Available
xjiks replied to toby23's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I notice that you start the AC gens before the engines are even started. I usually do: 1- APU start, then APU gen 2- Start both engines 3- AC gens ON 4- APU gen OFF 5- APU stop This prevents me from having a "Master Caution" when both AC gens and APU gens are running. Am I wrong doing so? Ps: nice rampstart document, very easy to read and follow step by step -
Md5summer is the best software I found to compare two directories and check any changed/missing file. http://www.md5summer.org/ 1/ Make a checksum of the installation folder and it will save the checksum of all the files 2/ Install the DCS patch 3/ Compare the checksum saved at 1/ to the game directory to find which files changed

Question about HUD mode vs Weapon Profile/Delivery Mode
xjiks replied to latearrival's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
From my experience, the best it to set your profile before you take off or enter the enemy area. Then totally forget about the DSMS and simply change the master mode and profile with the HUD menu. -
Ah ah, no I think X-fire didn't exist yet when I use to play de_dust :music_whistling: but I realised how many time I spent in lockon, bs, arma2. It's better than a "logbook" as I never play solo.

It's usefull to count hours spent on the games :-)

I would like to discuss about the Radio menu in the A10. Actually when you talk to the tower, you need to turn on the radio, set the frequency and activate the VHF/UHF radio to talk to the tower and then it brings you a communication menu where you hit "F5" to talk to the tower, and then have to choose in the list the airport you wish to communicate with. But, from what I think, (and when easy radio setting is not selected) at the time you selected the radio frequency and activated the correct radio type, it should bring you automatically to the "orders" menu ? Let me explain Actually it is like this: - I want to land Tbilisi airport - I choose radio frequency XXX MHz in the cokpit - Push the button to activate radio - Hit F5 for tower - Hit F1 (or another) to select Tbilisi - Hit F1 for "inbound" Why isn't it like this: - I want to land Tbilisi airport - I choose radio frequency XXX MHz in the cokpit - Push the button to activate radio - Hit F1 for "inbound" (I don't need to select the tower menu and airport menu because I already set the frequency for this particular airport, and use the radio to talk to towers) Does that makes sense ? :helpsmilie:

Ok, thanks, I will see what it does in the next MP sessions

Ok, but isn't SPI supposed to be fixed on the ground? Here it was moving all the time?

Hi, yesterday when flying MP with two other players I noticed a blue line ending with some kind of a cake moving on the TAD. The blue line was connected to another plane icon, and the cake was moving as the other plane was moving. Can someone tell me what it is exactly, and quicksteps to 1/ Change the blue line to another plane displayed on the TAD 2/ Activate or disactivate "my" blue line so other players may see it. Any information welcome!

Server hosts: Why do you lock your servers?
xjiks replied to MadTommy's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
I voted for the "antisocial" because of too much bad experience on the existing other public servers (including Lockon/BS/A10 servers): - Players land/take off from the taxiways - Players rearm/refuel/repair on the runaway - Players do free flight instead of playing the mission - Players do aerobatics and crash in the runaway/taxiway - Voluntary teamkills (no very often, but most annoying than anything else) My server is not opened frequently as it is my main computer, but when doing a "serious" flight with my buddies it is locked. Ps: my comment has nothing to do with the players skills
