  1. There is no forgiveness. Even the children quickly noticed their shortcomings at school or at home when they suddenly got all education funds suspended, and where disowned and shipped off to the child labour brickwork factory with blast furnance (or when being to heat-sensitive to 15 hour shifts in a fish gutting trawler) while being no longer allowed to come home in the evening. Or ever again. But we are not heartless - we already stopped demanding Seppuku in our clan for children below age 10 after failed household chores in the eighties.
  2. That hopefully means a guy with a portable R9X-launcher can be placed in the cargo room of this helicopter, standing behind the open cargo doors. For very special Bazooka operations. I have a good feeling the delay happened because the R9X is now getting implemented with the Chinook release, available for the Apache too.
  3. I already thought it is not yet finished and will get delayed. Otherwise a few great release and feature trailer videos and a few big YouTubers as pre-release testers showcasing the Chinook would have appeared some days ago last weekend. I an really curious when the first showcase video of the almost finished Chinook will appear, detailing the awesome visuals and features aaaw lovely.
  4. I am really looking forward to these! This intensifies the hype.
  5. Will the Chinook get a George? Or a Georgetta constantly ghosting me, or a Georgaușescu making jokes about being co-pilot in western helicopter? Is there a chance that an awesome release-trailer video showcasing the heli will get released today?
  6. Yes this is an awesome detail, I would love to have this visual goody implemented! And maybe a feature with the gun getting stuck when firing too long and overheating (I don´t know if this is realistic, but I doubt 1000 shots can be fired in a row and endless keeping the trigger pulled without destroying that gun.)
  7. He feels too safe behind the thick armored glass... there is no need to react when casual calibers are used against the Apache but just laugh at the puny tries to down an Apache with everything smaller than 30mm: https://www.ppgaerospace.com/getmedia/9a556385-c535-491c-bbce-e332a8ca63bf/boeing_apache_-AH64-12021Final.pdf?ext=.pdf ...but he should at least fear missiles. Probably he is one of these military experiments where the Amygdala was removed so George is not able to feel fear and sense of self-preservation.
  8. This is a quest every Jedi learning must, to distinguish between a fresh-car-perfume rearview mirror air refresher tree, a dangling helmet-hook and an enemy hidden between bushes with a Stinger even in a complete dark environment....
  9. Oh and I found another detail, the angle of attack change of the single rotor blades and also the rotor disk tilt change was clearly visible from the cockpit in-flight, until several of all these details where removed and downgraded a few months ago. Please bring back all these awesome rotor blade details from all the glorious Apache years before this update in I think spring or early summer this year that significantly downgraded the rotor disk animations in-flight and the Longbow Radar radome 3D mesh, because these details DCS has to offer makes helicopter flying so awesome and so immersive and the DCS simulator so uniqué and ultra-detailed Thank you very much, and thank you for creating the most awesome and detailed helicopter flight sim ever!
  10. A sideways recovery, interesting! I always try to put the Apache into a nose-dive. Thanks for mentioning that new trick to get out of VRS.
  11. Attitude hold mode maybe has too low tail rotor authority. I have tried a take-off with attitude hold mode on, it can be switched on while parking on the ground, and it works great. But has two problems so finding the sweet-spot takes a bit of practice. When pulling the collective stick too fast the helicopter starts to spin for some time, and because attitude hold has very low tail rotor authority so it will turn 180° or even more before stabilizing itself. When pulling the collective stick too slow the helicopter will tilt over.
  12. Or why not create a mission with a few awesome ships or a submarine creeping nearer to the coast, the crew are all dead because it´s computer mainframe was taken over by a rogue AI? The possibilities for interesting missions are limitless here we see a screenshot from today´s submarine hunt. I have also seen a video of the DCS aircraft carrier with super high quality 3D model skeletons in Skyrim-skeleton-model-quality as ground crew. Which brings me to another interesting mission idea: Imagine creating an enemy ghost ship aircraft carrier with skeletons on deck - this can only be the USS Kitty Hawk coming back from the International Shipbreaking drydock where she was defiled, and now she is seeking revenge for her demolition. Hm well an aircraft carrier is probably a bit much for one Apache.... but there are other ships, and maybe some day a modder will make a good quality Cthulhu 3D model emerging from the ocean. Fast escaping gun boats racing out into the open ocean are also an interesting idea for a great hunting mission (sorry I have no X-files story available for fast gunboats. Gunboats are just too grounded for a deep and inspiring background story). The possibilities for interesting missions are endless. Especially when it comes to these skeletons, because somehow implementing these awesome skeleton 3D model in the mission editor also makes time-travelling nazi zombie tank platoons hiding somewhere on the Normandy map possible. What modder has made these awesome skeletons in DCS, they are from some Halloween-special DCS aircraft carrier start YouTube video. They are an absolute must-have for the mission editor. My favorite is still the storm on Area 51, but I am too lazy to place 1000 enemy troopers with their corresponding waypoints by hand on the Nevada map... But maybe some day someone with too much time will do this mission.
  13. First trailer video today? Some YouTube previes? I am almost bursting from Chinook-curiosity!!
  14. How else does force trim work? I fly the Apache for weeks using this method perfectly and always have the tail rotor and the attitude perfectly centered with one press of a button. No more need to constantly counter-steer or slightly press one rudder all the time.
  15. I am very impressed! Are you planning to give the outside 3D model the same attention to detail as the cockpit, with animated spinning turbine inside the exhaust, spinning APU in the APU exhaust, animated swash blade and rotor disk and other goodies?
  16. I tried to create a mission of a horde of zombies trying to storm Nevada - Area 51. Until I found out there are no zombie and no alien 3D models to implement into the map so I gave up making missions. Too bad I learned the full mission editor to do this before finding out crucial essential 3D models are missing. But I especially miss time traveling WW1 combat zeppelins, perfect moving targets for the Hellfires! No this is not a joke, I really tried this. Casual war is just too casual for a cat like me, cats likes to hunt... a big variety of targets.
  17. These gorgeous rain effects on the glass and the functioning windshield wipers in the cozy well-heated cockpit. FLIR in the fog...
  18. Awesome, I did the same with my early GPS devices from 2005 onwards. Cool voices where trend back then! I really begin to like the idea of having Yodas or Schwarzenegger voice for George. Quick, to da choppa!
  19. This does not necessarily means something bad. Witcher 3 is also a game for example... Apache is love Apache is life just like Witcher... Ah that´s indeed interesting. Not part of this topic here, but maybe the computer systems are so power-hungy and also function with a different voltage (110 volts just like many other systems in the Apache - front FLIR cameras etc. - instead of 24 battery volts) so probably only the APU can power the avionics.
  20. Today I have noticed that when flying with a certain more strong force trim setting because of a bit of wind the Apache makes a slow 180° turn or more followed by slow yawing back to the direction where the attitude hold mode was switched on. Is this realistic having the automatic tail rotor stabilizer not kick in immediately when pressing attitude hold mode?
  21. The gear is retracted because when you change to the gunner seat the pilot puts the full helicopter into normal forward flight condition which also means retracting the gear after take-off It is no bug.
  22. Short training flight over the mountains.
  23. Hi pilots, in all YouTube videos when the Apache is taxiing forward or while flying forward one can see a steep angle upwards of the rear rotor blades. The V between tail structure and rear rotor blade is almost iconic in the Apache. But this awesome rear rotor blade animation upward is only perfectly animated while parking on the ground with engines off, but unfortunately for unknown reasons not visible when the rotors are spinning and pushing the stick forward with engines on. So please put that awesome parking and engines-off main rotor animation with the rear blades rising when pushing the stick forward to the spinning rotor too
  24. We should put this into the wishlist, having the rear rotorblade angled upwards the same way while flying like in the animation while parking on the ground with engines off but APU + hydraulics on and stick full-forward, hm? edit: Just look what I see right now! I thought I take my favorite helicopter for a stroll today, and now I wonder: Was there a tiny rotor animation minipatch for DCS, it looks now already really awesome while flying forward, what a great surprise: Also the collective pitch on the rotorblades seems to be more visible now! Rear rotor blade is now a bit angled upwards when flying forward with the forward rotor blade almost leveled to the horizon:
  25. The things that can be done with 3D printers nowadays are as limitless as they are incredible! (I heard there are machines ready to print even houses with 3D printers.) I wonder how long it will take until one can print out some Apache of F-fighter cockpit and sit in there as new simpit, just for fun. Without all the wooden frame structures and other stuff simpit builders currently do.
