I can confirm, I see the same behaviour. Specifically, my servers which are publically listed, never appear in my game list. I have to connect to them via local IP address.
-
I'm pretty sure the devs are well aware... 2.1 is still in alpha. A long way to go until release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No password set on the server, and no password is configured when connecting.

Same problem as posted in the 2.1.1 forum. Cannot connect to local server. Get an error 'Server Offline'.

@33-DTFC In principle I agree with you, it can be frustrating waiting for things to get out of beta. What I have little time for, are people who sign up for the alpha and then complain about its stability or progress. I think these are two separate issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You don't seem to know what an Alpha is. If you expect that every release will improve on the last, you're simply wrong.
-
It's clear that you don't understand what an Alpha is.
-
"And when you get an update but it makes the game worse, it feels as if no one bothered to test it before they released it." It's Alpha code. Not sure how many times this needs to be reiterated before people understand it.

This.

The usual complaints. 2.x is alpha code, as is Normandy. 1.5 is the only supported release version of DCS. Technically, DCS is one product. The additional installers for 2.x are for people who are willing to take a look at the future of DCS, and by doing so, accept all the hassle that comes with it. With respect, you need to reset your expectations.

As I said before, with those specs you should be getting better performance with 1.5. My specs are identical except I run a 1080. I'm getting 75FPS average. Something isn't right with your setup somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We can argue the relative merits of different game engines from different developers. You won't get any argument from me about how long DCS has been in ALPHA. But alpha is alpha. ED have been pretty open about what to expect. As for performance in 1.5 it sounds to me like you have a problem somewhere. I get 70+ fps with a similar setup, in VR. For the OK problem, hit alt-enter to make the game go full screen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The levels of entitlement from some people here is nothing short of astonishing. DCS 2.0/2.1 is ALPHA code. Any thoughts you might have that this needs to be 'better' or 'faster' is simply misplaced. Getting your hopes up for an alpha release is a bad idea. With respect, you need to adjust your expectations. Wags' post makes it pretty clear. The early release is as much about giving ED more information about how it performs on a wide variety of platforms as anything else. Until 2.x is gets out of alpha/beta, all bets are off. You're going to have to deal with it in the meantime.

Good question... NTTR had these problems when it was released. I'm sure they'll figure it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

VR in normandy Just going to put it out there. This is an ALPHA. There will be bugs. They will take time to fix. Those who expected more were being optimistic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just getting my head around MOOSE, this might be a simple one. I'm looking to respawn selected groups based on the number of units left in the group. The intent is to have a 'perpetual' mission. Ultimately, I'd like a number of groups which spawn in random locations around the map, then travel on randomised routes. These two functions I can get to work. What I'd like to be able to do is respawn one of these groups when say 90% of it's units have been destroyed. Or alternatively, have the group respawn after all the units have been destroyed, after a delay.

I asked this question in the Mission Editing subforum but didn't get a response, thought I'd try my luck here. Does anyone know whether it's possible to change the level of logging on a MP server in DCS? I am using some software to scrape log files to keep track of the number of players we have connecting to our servers. In 2.0 I can use entries in DCS.LOG, there are entries in the logs from LuaGui which show player connections. However these entries don't appear anywhere on 1.5. I'm assuming it's either a config difference, or maybe a base code change (1.5 --> 2.0). Can anyone help clarify the situation?

Either move your taskbar to the side of the screen, or do L-ALT & Enter to make the game full screen.

This might be a simple one, but it has me stumped. I have a 2.0 and a 1.5 server running. I'm using software to scrape the logs of my servers to keep track of the number of connected users on a weekly basis. For some reason, my 2.0 server shows client connections in the DCS.LOG file, but the 1.5 server doesn't. Can anyone direct me as to where need to look to 'spot the difference' as it were?

You kind of need other people on the SR server to verify that it's working. I don't think anyone will mind...

You can. This already works...
