Am I crazy? Is the A-10C learning curve too steep for first plane?
awjudge replied to Burgo38's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yeah, OP get yourself on an MP server with TeamSpeak. We fly on the AEF 161 servers in Australia. I learned a TON from the guys there in a very short space of time. You'll always learn faster from other people, tutorials are great but you can't ask questions... :-) -
Unlikely to be a DCS issue. Is GSync definitely still enabled in your Nvidia Control Panel?

Going fullscreen is easier :-)

Try hitting alt-enter to make the game go full screen. The join button should work then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD
awjudge replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Thanks for your reply Ciribob, much appreciated. Seems I was missing the fact that you have to remove and re-add the CTLD script from the mission when you edit it, otherwise the change doesn't take effect. I have 2 new issues though. Quite possible I'm doing something wrong. On 1.5 when I load Mist, CTLD and place a logistics unit and a transport helo, I don't see the 'Other' option on the radio menu, so I can't request anything. On 2.0, with the same configuration. I can request a crate, and I get a message confirming my request, but the crate never spawns in front of me. -
Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD

Hi, I have a question about sling loads. Am I right in assuming you can only call for HMMVs and other transportable units if you're using simulated sling loading? I've tried switching off simulated loads in the LUA file, but the only way I can get a 'real' sling load to work is if I place it into the mission with the editor. Is this how it's supposed to work? -
nvm, I figured it out. Looks like you need to loop the sound file.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm getting there, but I still seem to have an issue. I've configured the infantry unit with a Freq and a message. However, when I tune my ADF to that freq, my nav needle appears to send me to where I took off, not where the infantry unit is... Colour me confused.
-
I'm trying to write a mission similar to the training mission where you rescue an infantry unit. I can't seem to get the ADF to work. The infantry unit has been placed, and has a condition set to tune his frequency to 400mHz AM. However, the ADF in the Gazelle just gives me static. Am I missing something obvious? TIA

Try pressing ctrl numpad 1. You might have ASW enabled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Same issue here.

All good man, I didn't realise at first either... :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This might sound silly, but have you pulled the two throttle bodies all the way back, over the detent? You have to lift them over it...

What is the current state of VR in DCS; was your headset worth buying?
awjudge replied to Jamesp1's topic in Virtual Reality
One other thing I'd add... For me, helicopters have always been hard. Even with TIR, pedals and a Hotas, I struggled. VR changes that. Completely. The depth perception you get from VR, makes helis a breeze. I've been landing the Huey and the Gazelle on all manner of random flat surfaces with relative ease. It's a blast! -

No technical problems with the Rift here, it just works. ED have done a great job adding features with the last few patches (Zoom, VR presets, pixel density etc.) For me, it's been a hassle free experience so far. VR will blow your mind. It's a total game changer. That's not to say that there aren't drawbacks. The resolution is NOT as good as a screen. However, personally I will never go back to a normal screen. Most, if not all the 'issues' with VR can be worked around. And you simply cannot beat the immersion. You are IN the environment. It's impossible to describe until you've experienced it. -
Seems to be an MP bug, if you're the co-pilot, you can request a rearm and you'll see the weapons placed on the aircraft. The pilot won't. Weapons only work when the pilot requests the rearm.

Interesting. Not noticed that myself, will do some testing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've not used the DK2 myself, but I can say from my reading that the resolution and clarity of the CV1 is much, much better. I guess is that there's a reason the DK2 is going for only $180...

Not sure what you mean... I should clarify. It would be good if the aircraft in the virtual hangar was the same as the one you select as your DCS wallpaper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just an idea... Wouldn't it be great if the VR hangar reflected the menu wallpaper chosen in DCS?
