  1. Just seen this, I would happily pay for an Mi8 update that included these changes!
  2. I need a stick extension for rotary...... Max..... 'hold my beer' !!! Brilliant! Now that is awesome.
  3. Thanks Max, I tried all the settings from low to high including the cockpit displays and I have mirrors OFF permanently. But I do appreciate your input, many thanks!
  4. Hi, so regarding this issue I thought I would revitalise this thread rather than make a new one. I have spent the last few weeks getting DCS to run smoothly in MT both SP & MP. I have got to the point that I can run even the Apache really well. The Gazelle L also runs well now since the Gazelle update and PC are aware of the FPS issue with it. However the Blackshark still causes me issues! Everything is fine until I turn on the Shkval and my FPS tanks! I see the FPS hit when firing Vikhirs has been reported, but not this issue. When I trialled the BS2 I cant remember if I experienced this issue but after buying BS3 I have been unable to play it. I do run an older setup but as said above I can get the Apache to run with tads on one display and PNVS on and it runs fine both in SP & MP. All my modules run extremely well except the BS3! The long list of steps I have taken to resolve this; Removed all mods Ran slow repair Deleted fxo & metashaders every time I changed a setting All settings tested multiple variations in options from low to highest levels In game Vsync on & off In game anisotropic filtering on & off Nvidia control panel anisotropic filtering on & off Nvidia control panel Vync on & off, Fast Vsync on & off, Adaptive Vsync on & off, max frame rates set just below monitor refresh rate, ultra latency mode on & off Renamed saved games folder and tried with a fresh one And countless variations on all of the above! If this could be investigated it would be appreciated. My settings which allow me to run all modules well bar BS3 are; With the above, Nvidia control panel settings include; Ultra latency mode/Vsync/Max Frame rate (set just below refresh rate) I have also attached a simple miz and the associated track file. BS3 Shkval Miz.miz BS3 Shkval Track.trk From my settings investigations and seeing that all other modules I own run well, this can only be an issue with this module. I have even tried Taz's optimised BS3 and although it helps it still doesn't solve the issue. Regards
  5. At present the Gazelle had a flight model overhaul in Open Beta that hasn't appeared in Stable yet. There are a few bugs which they know about and will be fixed for the next open beta release. The new FM is completely different, the Gazelle has a real life tendency to hang right skid low in hover and when taking off I usually apply some very slight aft and left stick (apply force trim to hold it there)and then just as she goes light on the skids you need to give it a an slightly stronger push to the left and then centre the stick quickly (to the aforementioned back and left) to stop the right roll as she lifts. Then adjust as required for a stable hover as normal. Also be smooth on the collective. You have to be proactive rather than reactive as if she starts rolling to the right too much no amount of left stick will stop it, if this happens, to try and avoid the roll over is drop the collective, quickly but smoothly and it may save you. Or turn on invulnerability for a practice so you dont have to keep reloading a practice mission everytime you smash it up. Hope this helps.
  6. Looking very good!!!! Can't wait to what's next in the progress! Awesome work!
  7. Hi all, Running a target practice mission in the Caucasus with both the M and the L variants the M has no issues, nor does any other helo or aircraft in the same mission, but the L induces some stuttering randomly throughout the mission. I don't experience it with any other module. I have attached a screenshot with fps. I have also tried numerous fixes for the stuttering issue from power management to playing with all my settings in DCS and Nvidia control panel. This only happens with this variant?? With my current settings every module and map is running very smooth. Anyone else have this? Or have any ideas??
  8. Thanks for this @609_Relentov very helpful having been away from the F5 for a while!
  9. Just a quick Q, If I buy the full BS3 (never owned BS2), do I get both modules BS2 & 3 ? Like the A10C II? I only ask as rhe mini update/FAQ only refers to those upgrading from BS2 to BS3. Thanks all!
  10. Well I never! I disappear for a few months for work and when I come back there are more mods and upcoming mods than you can shake a stick at! Looks amazing so far, impressive work! I will be looking forward to this lots!
  11. I am currently trying to build a campaign that contains the following models all as AI, HMS Invincible & AH-64D Blk 2. In the first campaign en-route to the carrier I get the pleasure of watching the AI Apaches land. Or so I hoped. They fall through the decks on landing and promptly explode. Did some digging and testing and found that if the carriers lights are on and its evening/night, the AI apache falls through the deck upon landing and explodes. During the day and with the lights off, the Apaches touch down without issue. I also noticed a weird AI behaviour on the night track only that causes one of the Apaches to not land. Included are both track files and the original Miz files they came from. 12. Thanks for your input. However its a model thats in the game, and therefore it might be useful to someone who wants to mod in a minimalist way or who wants use the models that are already in the game. On the issue of scale, its an AI unit and in the game. For example, the CH53 is apparently the wrong scale too but it's still useable?
  13. In addition to the two downloadable AI Sea King Mods https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326481/ and https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316150/ There is also an AI model in the main game. I am not sure why its not usable in game at present. Its a low res model but just a small tweak to the database entry and you can have an AI SH-3W. The link to the db_countries lua (Mod Manager ready); To install I recommend using JSGME or OVGME. The file will overwrite the db_countries lua file in the Scripts/Database area adding the SH-3W to the USA and UK. I haven't tested if it is IC compliant. For a manual install unzip the folder and locate the db_countries lua file, copy and paste it into; DCS World OpenBeta/Scripts/Database
  14. In your Saved Games folder. User/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Liveries/ or if on stable; User/Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/ From the included readme in the liveries pack; Put the folder "Liveries" from the zip into your "...\Saved Games\DCS\..." or "...Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\...." folder.
  15. Hi all, Just wondering which Campaign to try for the P51? Bodney or Charnwood? Looking for recommendations from those who have tried them and any thoughts you have.. The high stakes campaign doesn't seem to interest me. Cheers all
  16. Hi all, I am looking for a broken T16000M as I need to replace a few things in mine. Namely the two buttons on the top left & right of the joystick. Or if anyone knows where I can get replacements printed? I tried TM customer services but alas they do not do spares. I dont have the skill to 3d model them and get a quote from shapeways etc.
  17. Are you loading up an instant action mission, a misson or via the mission editor? If its via the mission editor, when you click on the aircraft on the top right there will be a number of options including a drop down menu with veteran etc, client and player settings. Choose player and load the mission editor mission. If its not this and you're already aware of this I apologise!!
  18. I seen this one too in the P51D training manual. It seems that when reading the manual it states that the chart you have shown and the second one named "flight operation instruction chart" were "sample" charts so you can follow the manuals example flight planning and then it states the full charts are listed further below. Comparing the two manuals, it seems the US "pilots operating handbook" is missing the full take off, climb and landing charts that are found british pilots flight operations handbook (which is basically a copy of the US POH).
  19. From what I have found online the max weights used in the pilots flight operations instructions was 13000lbs in the take off, climb and landing chart. http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/mustang/P-51D-manual-5april44.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiuj9fnvJTyAhVIecAKHc0UAH8QFjAAegQIAxAC&usg=AOvVaw1M7qhGVOiGWG5FBXYwgRuT Hope this helps.
  20. I will second the above post, it really helped with my set up. I get about a 2fps drop when I use it. But it's worth it.
  21. Haha. I didn't even think it was a hijack !! But I'm so glad we could help you get it running! Awesome news. Enjoy the immersion and doing stoopid things as you get so lost in the VR. On a further note, no doubt you'll have to tweak some settings when you use the cable. I just upgraded from 16 to 32gb of ram and I had to go back and tweak settings to get mine running smoothly again. What a PITA!
  22. OK first issue is using the wireless, it creates more latency than using the Occulus link cable. If you have the cash I would recommend getting the link cable. If not you can try using the 5ghz wireless setting on your modem rather than the 2.4ghz wireless. If anyone else is using wireless in your house this will also affect the latency. Change your PD in DCS to 1.0 as Harlikwin mentions as well as your DCS resolution to the lowest setting. Turn off bloom effect in DCS. Exit DCS after the above and go into your saved games folder and delete the fxo and metashaders2 folders. Restart DCS and see how your FPS are in a free flight. Rctrl & pause. Let me know what your FPS is and then we can then work on trying to make your cockpit clearer.
  23. OK, first issue is your resolution, that's the resolution on your monitor not your VR headset. Turn this down. Your resolution is controlled by the PD setting in the VR tab along with a setting in Steam or occulus app. We can sort those next. But first; Your IPD is explained here and how to adjust the lenses; https://support.oculus.com/articles/getting-started/getting-started-with-quest-2/ipd-quest-2/ Here's somewhere you can measure your ipd; https://www.specsavers.co.uk/glasses/buyers-guide/how-to-measure-your-pupillary-distance Are you running your quest 2 with the cable? Are you running Steam VR? If so what are your settings for DCS? What are you occulus app settings for DCS?
  24. I kept it at the default settings. On testing at these settings I lose around 2fps, but the increase in sharpness is worth it. I haven't got any experience with the Quest 2 but a lot of what I read is that people suffered FPS drop due to the cable connection. Just curious regarding your settings, do you know your IPD? Have you altered the IPD setting in the Occulus tray tool? What is your PD setting in DCS and what is the PD setting in Occulus tray tool? What are your DCS graphics settings? I only ask as I may spot something you can change or the others on here might. Lets try and get this working for you! I don't think I could go back to a monitor for DCS. I also agree with shu, overlocking you CPU would be a good idea. As well as maybe OC your GPU. What GPU are you running? I didn't see it in your list. As for the "what blew me away", the depth perception was hugely immersive, just flying around in VR was mind blowing . What freaked me out me, and still does, if I eject at altitude. The first time I looked down, I nearly crapped myself!!!! I had the full on stomach drop like I was stood on the edge of cliff!!!! I also find myself reaching out to flick switches or grab the in cockpit throttle mid air! Doh! As for the sickness, I had a few issues with vertigo and I stopped before I got any nausea. Start playing in small 5 to 10 mins sessions and then build up from there. As soon as you feel light headed, or any odd feelings. Stop and don't play again in VR until you feel 100%. Its taken me just over a week to build up my resistance. As for Helicopters, that's still not working out great yet for me in VR. The vertigo is horrendous.
