  1. Odd that octupus g does not announce it on the DCS website. Anyway, it looks like they are working on the prototype. MFT
  2. If the virtual pilot is not using the appropriate airplane, then he takes a swim in frigid ocean waters.
  3. ED is consistent in one area. They give plenty of notice via their website as well in discord channels when new aircraft or modules are available. MFT
  4. The F-16s and F-4e planes would have tremendous fun and action in the Persian Gulf Map. The wild weasel pilots might fight the targets alone but they are not afraid. @Bozon Thank you for your response with explanation the F-4e served in the Israeli military. MFT
  5. @Nahen I saw the screenshot showing areas of completion on the SA map. i know it takes times and resources to update the new map. I saw areas of touch up opportunities on assorted videos on YouTube and in dcs forum posts identified by various people. And this was my consumer's mindset when I saw the SA map release announcement. I expected the f-15e to be released at the same time because the developer team showed it in their promotional videos. People are likely to make the jet purchase along with the SA map even though it is EA. In the meantime, we wait. When the timing is right, ED will post the information on the website. MFT
  6. Once the f-4e is available, it can join the f-16 to do wild weasel missions. MFT
  7. In the south Atlantic map, there are plenty of hangars available for the Mirage F-1. Besides, the virtual ground crews are bored because they have nothing to do. The personnel don't want to cut the virtual grass or sweep virtual hangars. And yes, everyone has shared their life stories with their peers.
  8. @ Silver_Dragon I read your update on the South Atlantic Map, which briefly discussed on the updates. You mentioned an asset mod will be available, when it is ready. Will there be additional mods available for the SA Map? If so, what are the prices? MFT
  9. @draconus The map wish is for all maps to be available at a reduced price for everyone. I saw your response saying a summer sales will occur sometime during the summer.
  10. @tonguechique Welcome to DCS. We are happy to see your post in the forum. Do you have any jets, choppers, or maps? I have the super carrier, f/a-18, and the south Atlantic map.
  11. Maybe razbam will have the F-15 ready for the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. In the meantime, we wait.
  12. Will ED have a sale on the maps or jets for the Juneteenth holiday weekend? MFT
  13. When I watched the promo videos for the South Atlantic Map, they showed the F-15e flying. Based on what I observed, it appeared the F-15e model was functional. Of course, we do not know if this perception is accurate. Additionally, it would make financial sense to release new jets and choppers to be used in the SA map. Maybe the next flash sale might be on Juneteenth Day, which is a holiday. MFT
  14. Any new updates on when the F-15e is ready? We really, really, really want the jet. In fact, we are willing to pay for it :). MFT
  15. I submitted my application. I have the F/A-18.
  16. @Silver_Dragon Why does ED not want to update the Persian Gulf map? We like having the features and functionalities updated. MFT
  17. @Cory407 Welcome to DCS. I do not have the a-10 but it is a great tank parts distributor. Destroying the tanks or hinds scatters parts all over the battlefield. The a-10 goes low and slow. It excels at CAS. As for me, I have the f/a-18 with the super carrier. I have the south Atlantic map, too. MFT
  18. When will the Atlantic map have links to where we can go there automatically with our jets and choppers? All other maps all me to go with my jets and choppers. MFT
  19. Hurrah. I will go on discord shortly. MFT
  20. In addition to the SA map, it would really, really be great if additional jets (F-15, F-4e, Mirage F-1) and anything new else to virtual pilots would be made available. MFT
  21. @Gunfreak It is 3.2 million square miles. Razbam developers said it takes ships 3 days in real-world time to travel from one side of the map to the other side going 24 knots. The SA map will take approximately 80 GB of hard drive space. The developers worked four years on creating this map from scratch. MFT
  22. Listening to the Razbam developers' interviews with the folks at ED is insightful. I learned the SA map took approximately four years to make. The is approximately 3.2 million square miles. For real-world comparison, the United States is 3.8 million square miles. I saw the screenshots showing the Falkland islands and southern Chile & Argentina. Let's build on the existing SA map by expanding it to include Antarctica. This map would be quite safe from politics, yet is very diverse. Antarctica has research stations from numerous countries at different locations. We can create our own campaigns, missions, and place natural resources in the Antarctica map. Some natural sources are oil, coal, and natural gas. Mission creators can create and place refineries, coal mines, and gold mines wherever they want to in the mountains. For interested programmers, they can develop real-world modeling of storms for the Southern Ocean. The Southern Ocean surrounds Antarctica. Add the option for rogue waves and tidal waves. For up-to-date weather, link a reliable weather service that continuously updates the map with timely weather information. Make the weather fully controllable in the Antarctica Map. End-users can have sustained heat waves, which causes the ice cap to melt. The map could model the impact of man-made global warming. To add realism, include modeling that shows Antarctica without any ice. On the other hand, empower us with options that will allow us to create the next ice age in the Antarctica map. The Antarctica map works well with the fighter jets, gunships, and naval ships. Devoted programmers can make modifications so that ground forces such as tanks, trucks, and soldiers move in snow. To make life more interesting, we can have whiteouts, blizzards, and below-freezing weather. We can add wildlife such as penguins, killer sharks, and walruses. For now, we have our ED cows that can eat snow and ice in freezing weather and not be impacted. For our pilots and aircraft, we can update the models to show how they will realistically operate in sustain polar environment. We do not want the naval assets to feel neglected; therefore, we can create harbors, ports, warehouses, and maintenance facilities for the ships. People can create communities near the coast or somewhere inland in Antarctica. The SA map says it has the Free Willy modeled in the SA map. In addition to modeling the Free Willy in the SA map, let's expand the killer's whale family in the Southern Ocean. We can add Great White Sharks, a kraken, giant squids, and shipwrecks. To show history, we can also show the defunct whaling stations. Should Razbam undertake this map, they would likely be working on it for a few years. Using the experiences learned over four years creating the SA map, Razbam might be able to create the map is less than four years. It would be a megasized map.
  23. @Delta-canard Welcome to DCS. I read your introduction and I see that you have extensive flight simulator experience with different programs. As for me, I fly the F/A-18 in DCS. I like the F/A-18 because it is easier to use and more forgiving. Additionally, the F/A-18 can be used for carrier missions and for land based missions. I recommend waiting on buying the F-14 because it is harder to fly than the F/A-18. Investing in the Super Carrier mode is good for when you are using the F/A-18 or the F-14. Mike Force Team
  24. Here is something else for Razbam to add to the SA map. They can add tidal waves. For the ships at sea, Razbam can add gusty winds that generate rogue waves. Even more so, Razbam should allow an editing feature where players can create landmine fields on the Falkland Islands. MFT
