  1. Still crashes every once I a while, I have tested extensively. Seems like there is some unfavourable interaction between dcs and amd radeon drivers, as crashes happen less often if I artificially limit the gpus clock below 2800mhz (normally runs closer to 3000 when left on stock settings). Have yet to test with new patch. But I don't expect changes tbh. The UPS has an inbuilt function to clean up the power from the wall, it's not a switch or separate device.
  2. it is connected to a ups/voltage stabilizer, but I also live in an area with very good electrical supply in the eu, not a factor.
  3. Have been dealing with relatively constant PC shutdowns when my plane gets splashed and the explosion animation happens. It's at least 40% of the time. I only fly the Viper, my system has passed may stability tests recently such as unigine, furmark, cinebench, prime 95 etc, no other game is crashing my pc, especially not a repeatable hard shutdown. It mostly seems to be triggering OCP via the GPU, I have even resorted to limiting gpu power and clock speeds to a well conservative number. Running a 7900xtx and a 5950x combo. Attaching a track file where I got splashed in a comp this weekend and my pc crashed and shut off so hard my bios settings had to be reapplied. 364th_FTQ_SATAC_Sochi-MozdokV5-20240323-181036.trk dcs.log
  4. I had recently three different usb peripherals chnage ID in DCS without even changing the usb plugs from their place in the mobo. they all happend rather randomly last week, one by one. not sure if it was windows changing usb ids or dcs, but it made my backup input files useless to resolve the issue. To reiterate, nothing changed in my pc. just lost bindings for three separate controllers at three independent times in a week. and the controllers were still visible in the controls pannel in dcs, only with 0 assigned bindings.
  5. Also, pasting a full input folder backup into the right directory does not solve the issue
  6. Something is happening since the latest update, randomly deleting one of my usb devices from my mappings. I have a simrig set up, no usb cables ever move plugs on the motherboard, nor have there been any firmware updates for any of these devices. So far, one of my virpil panels, a razer tartarus and my virpil/warthog stick combo have all independently disappeared from my mappings, even though they're visible in dcs. The offending devices are being randomly deleted from my device mappings list on the saved games folder.
  7. I would like to know this as well please. If I unbind my steam account from my ED account will this have any irreversible consequences like not being able to transfer steam modules there etc?
  8. I'm also seeing a lot of stutters after the patch, not in VR: massive stutters around sayqual.trk they don't seem particularly apparent on the FPS graph in game btw, but in the screen they are pretty bad, >1.5s sometimes
  9. @Hobel For screen space reasons, my setup would greatly benefit from having the winwing mfds in a landscape orientation in windows (450,000.oo less pixels to sacrifice to darkness). Is it possible to rotate the MFD exports 90 degrees cw or ccw at all on the monitor config lua files? Is it still possible to specify the drawing location of the kneeboard? My old export isn't working anymore for this. Thanks for any pointers provided!
  10. also seeing a lot of missiles going after missiles after the 2.8.4.39259.1 update yesterday, especially AMRAAM Bs. And can confirm I-ve seen many times missiles going for the trailing element in a group when firing at the lead
  11. I'm also unable to launch the MT version of DCS from the MT bin folder inside the steam install, it just launches the Non-MT. The only way I get to run MT is through the steam launcher. This only happens on my windows 11 machine as my windows 10 pc doesn't suffer this bug. I've even created a shortcut on the start menu with MT directly from the MT folder on the windows 10 PC. Any ideas? I want to be clear and say that i'm clicking straight from the MT folder on the .exe within the MT folder, not trying a shortcut, and it launches the ST game instead. I've tried file integrity check, etc. Weird bug.

    DCS and Pimax

Hey guys, Very new to vr here. I first tried a pimax 5k super which rendered NVGs as just a green layer all over the screens (not realistic but preferable for me for practicality). I very quickly returned that and got an 8k plus for better clarity but now my nvgs, while rendered more realistically, don't feel like they align with the centre of my pupils. the attached image is looking straight ahead in the cockpit. It makes it very hard to see stuff in the dead centre of the screen/hmd due to small binocular overlap, and I find myself having to look slightly offset to use one eye to see a particular point on the screen. My ipd and other settings all work perfectly for me and this is the only issue i seem to be having atm. Any ideas? If not it'd be great if this could be an adjustable parameter for vr, or at least a pimax checkbox in the settings. Or even a "simplified" all screen rendering like I was getting on the 5k would be preferable. to me
  13. While I'm not qualified to comment on radar performance as it relates to the real plane, I can definitely say the underlying game code for the radar in the 16 is still buggy (even after latest fixes) and does things like not give you a firing solution in TWS for many seconds after bugging a target (something I assume is only possible if a track is solid enough for the computer to mark it as such), especially on first target lock on a sortie even though the system track is clearly very well defined. RWS seems to have less range available as well to lock a target. I also think that the 22-26nm distance at which the radar becomes useable for small targets, even when painting a bigger target like a tomcat or f15 or flanker up against clear sky, is a bit short of the mark.
  14. I'm seeing the tpod go spastic sometimes, perhaps after evasive manoeuvres.. Can't even use the CZ function to get it stabilized. I can TMS up or aft and it will still drift and spin out. After a moment, and sometimes switching it off and back on again, this behaviour will disappear. I have 0 tdc mini-stick drift, i checked after reading this thread.
  15. Same on Virpil, Winwing and x56 throttles for me, The gain from the same input is just too much.
  16. I have the same issue, very hard to even boresight the mavs while in the air. Cursor speed needs to be equalized to tgp or something of the sort, as changing the curves will make it harder to use the tgp and radar.
  17. I'm finding that they have a narrower approach angle at which they'll engage (if you're not flying at them almost head on sometimes they'll ignore you), but at the same time once merged they're much better than before the update
  18. I can confirm this is still happening, exactly the same as it was before the last OB patch, and has been happening for a while now. way to reset is to open radar azimuth to full. I think it happens to (or gets noticed only by) people that have the antenna elevation mapped to an axis
  19. Have you checked that all monitors are set in geforce control panel to highest refresh rate? Silly but sometimes windows decides you should get less performance for no apparent reason and defaults one or all of your displays to base refresh rates. Also uncheck Vsync. I'm currently running 3080ti on 1 1440p monitor, with a couple of usb screens for mfds and the performance hit vs a single screen is massive, around 30% less fps, thinking of going for triples but all the forums relay very bad scaling in DCS.
