Is a Dynamic Campaign really needed?
suntrace1 replied to Weta43's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
To me the air-quake that's going on on-line has absolutely no appeal since it resembles more to CS then actual air-warfare. Besides there are few servers, i usually get lousy ping and again it's absolutly pointless except for getting ''frags''. But I am very happy that you are satisfied with on-line play. -
Is a Dynamic Campaign really needed?
suntrace1 replied to Weta43's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Because a human need for the random events and surprises is the driving force of his nature. LOMAC needs it badly, i don't have time to create new missions after i get home from work, played old one's bzillion times and am not interested in on-line playing for various reasons. I belive there are many more outthere that have the same point of view. If nothing else, i bet it would boost the sales. I sincerely hope that LOMAC 2 will have some randomness or maybe even a DC. -
Moving pedals in cockpit
suntrace1 replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
And what's the deal with a/c in LOMAC, it's not working properly - if i fart in the cockpit, the smell wont go away even if i open my canopy! -
This is just a part of a ''Su-27 Flanker - The Sukhoi story'' movie and it's ''actualy' showing the deadly R-73 missile.

You can be very happy that AI behaves in predictable way. If it behaved in unpredictable AND meaningful way, than it would alive. Thank God it's not alive - yet :/ In the first LOMAC demo, i had no problem to get Mirage plumet into the sea. I just made a few fast vertical loops with AB and that was it, bye bye Mirage, harrrrr. AI in gunzo is quit ok.Try the A-10 SAM hunt mission and order your wingman to attack ground targets. He'll fly directy above Strela and Shilka insted of knockin' them out first. Why can't he categorize targets and their priorities - first SAM's and AAA?

LOMAC community Bored or just Dead?
suntrace1 replied to T-Bone's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
-This game has absolutely no storyline (don't tell it does because I can't find it)- I don't care about the storyline, all i need are various missions (SEAD, CAP, CAS, ...) in various conditions (wind, weather, enemy strenght) that can hold me on the edge of my seat = at least some sort of Dynamic Campaign engine, please -If it does, then it's in some obscure region of the world which nobody gives a crap about Well, Crimea was and is very important strategicaly, but it doesn't hold a candel (at least in charm and sentimental value) to some other regions, like Iraq, Afganistan, Israel - Egipt, or Sydra and so on, at least for a ''western' player. Still, i can at least image that those are Afganistan's mountains and that i'm operating from a carrier in Persian Gulf - not a big minus -This game is focused on the hardcore sim people who care more about radar rather than fun. I started simming with LOMAC, 2 years ago and yes, it's a hardcore sim, that requires a lot of time to master (i can't even think how much time i'd need for F4). People that play LOMAC were surely simmers before, 20% are newcomers to the genre and i'm sure that many of them don't even learn how to fight in A-10, give up and put it on hold for 'some' time. And deduct from that other simmers, that went back to F4/WoV/IL2 because of various reasons, well, you're left with even smaller (but just as enthusiastic) group of people. -This game riddled with bugs (still) It depends from the perspective, v1.1 is a !dream! if compared to v1.00 and current bugs are not joy-stoppers - this was the biggest progress for this title. Well done ED! -It runs slow with high settings, and looks crap on low settings. Takes up huge amount of ram on medium settings. Now this is very true. When LOMAC came out, it was claimed that this game was meant to be played on future hardware, but it looks like that's not entirely true. Some simmers have dream machines (3+ GHz, 7800 GTX in SLi and 2 Gigs of RAM) and LOMAC only gives 30fps no matter what resolution you play - that IS a dissapointment! I was ready to buy myself a new top-of-the-line PC, but since the code doesn't allow higher FPS, i'll stay with this one till LOMAC2 comes out, which i hope, will be graphicly a lot less constrained and ''future'' oriented ;) as this version is. -This game has no appeal what so ever to new people because it's so complex and not fun oriented. It has appeal, untill they realize how steep the learning curve is, and get back to BF2 for a quick shot of adrenalin -This game does not create any tostesterone when playing Hmmm, OK, i don't get this one :) All in all, all LOMAC needs to shine like a star is: - Dynamic Campaign if not in F4 league then at least something simmilar. It would breath life into LOMACs georgeus body. Creating missions every night is not fun and not easy ,may i add. It takes me an hour to make something fun and there are many occasions that i'm just too tired to play it out, afterwards. - more forgiving graphics code - ''Tom Cruise'' mode and hot chicks that wave when you land/takeoff from the carrier for beginners and testosteron addicts (well, maybe an MP3 player in the cockpit, so i don't need to Alt-Tab on long missions) -
Another thing that can be done with no effort is no joystick pre-settings. Why do we need to clear those out everytime ?! I doubt that anyone uses default profile, that comes with LOMAC. And after clearing a command it's really annoying, that the menu jumps to the beginning and you need to scroll down again, every-single-f*****-time! It just annoys me to hell!

suntrace1 replied to LawnDart's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Perhaps the movie saves in your hidden folder of IE browser, where all temporary files go. It's located in C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files But if that is true, you'll have to wait for entire movie to DL into the browser, which can take a while. It's just a guess... -
A-10 Dave campaign 7th mission crashing
suntrace1 replied to suntrace1's topic in User Created Missions General
It seams to me, that the problem was not starting this mission in my cockpit but 5 minutes into it. I was just loading it, until i could play it out. What was the fix? You tell me... -

Any info about the Visa payment?
suntrace1 replied to ThirdELTPoznan's topic in Payment and Activation
Slovenia is also not on the PayPal list. What about directly transfering money onto your bank account? Is there something about the rumer of a cd version from NaturalPoint? -
What Lomac really needs now, is a dynamic campain. That would make this sim look and feel alive.

Flyable Su17 can we have it done?
suntrace1 replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I don't know if the Su-39 is still alive in v1.1, but if it is, it would be more suitable for Su-17, since it has HUD and can go over Mach1 (well at least in the game it can). -
LOMAC v1.1 copy protection – good news/bad news
suntrace1 replied to Bogun's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I have both of them installed and I don't have any problems with both of main SF versions - CD key verison and Activation version. Well i am very glad that you have no problems, however i had them, twice for that matter and helped 2 of my friends save there data after there PC's started to go beserk and had to format them. In short it was a nightmare! I do belive a lot of people had problems with the SF protection. Like someone else suggested, go with the alternative ways. You are turning people away with such an aggresive protection. -
LOMAC v1.1 copy protection – good news/bad news
suntrace1 replied to Bogun's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I bought previously 2 games with SF protection and had only headaches with it. Sold them after a week or so and never bought another game since with SF protection. I understand your consourn about piracy but i do belive that more harm will be done with SF protection. I for one, will not buy it or will purchase russian version, since i'm part Montenegro and understand cerrilic and a little russian. But i urge you to reconsider your decision with the SF. There have to be other ways to get around this problem. -
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs Distribution Option Polling
suntrace1 replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Please, make some alternative ways of payment, i don't have a credit card, but am willing to pay directly to your bank account or other ways (still have a spare sister to marry :). And a DL would be sufficient, if there is no plastic box with manual.
