The Dora Engine is still bugged. It just died for me for no apparent reason. https://1drv.ms/u/c/153140320d8bd7a3/EWErDnXQhVNBnOdQR4DzuQ0BPu3zGvFkg7RcUcSA_Y2gGg?e=JexmQw Track. Engine warm up as per manual, climb with 3000 rpm, 400kph, then cruise at 7k at 2500rpm. after a fight, with no noticable damage, i started to climb again, from roughly 2000 when suddenly the engine simply sounded like its got no more fuel. all swell. power drop, engine stopped, THEN oiltemps went high. Made a belly lending after few mins of flight and only then right before touchdown the coolant started to evaporate... Its getting frustrating, that this plane has had its engine bugged and "fixed" 4 times in a row now and its still bugged.... dcs 2.9.11.4686 @BIGNEWY @Hobel dcs.log

By track he means a file from within dcs. A track/replay file can be saved when you quit your singleplayer session and is automatically stored when you play multiplayer and contains eg all your inputs and meta data. A youtube video doesnt help.

That doesnt change the overall factual reflectiveness of a material, or to determine, how said material should reflect. There is a huge difference in the quality of reflections the DCS anton displays, and any of the other warbirds.

Happy new year to the Ugra Team, the above problem still exists..

What is the future of WW2 stuff for DCS?
Doughguy replied to aldox's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
It would be rather advisable, to get another axis plane next... we have 5 allies planes plus subvariants atm, and 3 allied in the making. Or, a late war map, to actually fly these planes where it would make sense.. -
I guess the confusion stems from the fact that the front tank holds 230 liters and the rear 290liters. The way i remember it to work is that if you have set the fuel selector handle to auf, indeed both fuel tanks are drained, however, as the rear tank holds more, the excess is bein pumped back into the front one. So until youve drained 60+ liters from the rear tank, fuel is being lowered on both tanks, but only rear one shows a change. As "auf" drains from both tanks both pumps should be activated. If you access the tanks seperately each pump needs to be activated in conjunction with the corresponding pump to avoid air bein sucked into the system. The later point is not simulated and is the same in the anton. You can leave both pumps, or all 3, on all the time. However the d9 manual describes the fuel management in 3 places and it varies partially...

I bet those warbirds still have wartime perspex installed.... hence bein totally accurate... also while he has a 190.. but all other warbirds do not. Please keep your snide remarks to yourself if you cannot be polite.... Also you didnt seem to understand an analogy nor can you produce any counter proof, yet you ask for evidence.... But as we're at it, why dont you show me nick grey in his 190 a8 or d9? So we can "assume" where they got it from.... and if murky is correct we change it on all the warbirds yes?
-
Canopies are present in above pictures.. I can tell by the shape of the frame of the 190. Most ww2 pics will be taken from outside. But if you compare eg contemporary inside/outside pics, you can draw conclusions looking at ww2 stuff, which tbf, isnt too different clarity wise. Also, german cockpits werent painted light grey but darker medium grey rlm66. That wouldnt reflect.
-
Only pics of inside a fw190 i could excavate. Bit of a dud. However, compare pics of inside a f16. Reflections are crisp, basically only reflect the brightest parts of the surroundings and still are transparent. Canopy geometry is quite similar towards the rear in a f16 and fw190. Its all murky in the anton....
-
Materials are simply setupn wrong on the antons canopy.
-
Pictures from inside are rather rare. Iirc i have one or 2 in my japo books onnthe dora. Whilest my posted pics do not show this, they clearly show how reflective and transparent the canopy material should be. And it also doesnt matter if its viewed from the inside or outside. The material remains the same. Only projections of reflected objects will differ. In the case of the anton i guess ed simply reused the front of the plate as a back plate to save pixelspace on the texture. Hence you can see it on the anton but not in the d9, cause everything from the plate forward is identical in both a8 and d9. What makes things sour for me are not reglections per se... but that only one module is affected rendering it basically useless.... so axis has effectively 2 capable planes... allied have 5. Why wasnt the glass of the other planes changed aswell then? Such adjustments should be done across the board... perspex will be perspex and will ot be different on a 109 or a 51....

Ok, so here´s some pictures of real life examples. most wartime and some restorations. as you can see, reflections were there. and very drastic. also, the perspex wasnt fully clear but had some opacity to it which can be clearly seen. Hower, and that is what ED def got wrong is that the surface isnt "polished" enough and appear very rough and sandblasted. means, roughtmats are wrong. reflections on canopies were present but very crisp and only the very bright spots were mostly noticable and obscuring. if we compare that to current pictures, it should and would be the same. pics from with the cockpit, especially during flight are scare. i know that there are a few, but i cant recall if they showed reflections. Also, with the sandblasted "reflections" bein mostly present permanently (!) around the canopy edges, i suspect some normal issues caused by smoothing groups.
-
Flickering only it seems..
-
The reflections on the anton canopy are simply overdone. Lookin backwards its like theyre sandblasted, because they arent transparent enough. theres tons of wartime footage. Yes, they had reflections, but they werent so bad. If the perspex wouldve been so bad, that would be a life threatening flaw...

FW-190 D9 Targetdistance / Wingsspan wrong

@Hobel i can only reproduce this in the air, not on the ground unfortunatelly since i cannot produce a noseover doing screens with active pause. -
FW-190 D9 Targetdistance / Wingsspan wrong
Doughguy replied to Doughguy's topic in Bugs and Problems
The + would be 11,5m which would make the crosshair even bigger. The marks arent evenly placed if you look at the spaces between the first long crossed out mark, for "generic" one engine planes. But thats not the main issue. The recent fix of the target distance scale was only cosmetical. The 400 meter mark was once 100 meters, which was quite "correct", distance wise. The old mark between the 100m and 600m was ~300 meters iirc After the "fix" that mark would be 500m as it sits between 400m and 600m... Telling by the labels, the distance is actually ~200m framed at a wingspan of ~11meters, not 500m as indicated by scale. Distances above 600m seem correct. Anything from 600 below is off per the new target distance scale. -

investigating FW-190 D9 Targetdistance / Wingsspan wrong
Doughguy posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Target wingspan set to 11 meters for a spit, distance 500m according to new "fixed" distance indicator. Spit is 500 meters away. Crosshair is wrong/ too big. IIrc the current 500 meters setting was 300 on the old scale, which will be more fitting. -
I cant seem to open you track file for some reason. Usually mw50 is in OFF position per default. The Swith appears to be in the middle. ON is to the front. The rear tank light flashing is usually because you pull negative g / do a nose over once your press "play" and start in the air.

Please post tracks. So far i didnt have had engine failures in the same way it was before. Usually mine broke even cruising at 2500 and then increasing throttle. Combat overheat can happen if you fly below 300kph at full power for too long.
